Garden floor: This part of the house contains a small “orangerie” which has been set up as an additional bedroom and has its own entrance. It has a full bathroom included within it.
The property is 3000 m² and contains a beautiful landscaped, mature Mediterranean garden. The large kidney shaped pool is 20 x 6 metres and is situated among the trees and flowers. It has a pool house which contains a toilet and shower as well as small kitchen. The property also has its own parking area, which can easily accommodate several vehicles. The field on the other side of the parking lot belongs to the house. There are horses in the adjoining fields.

Amazing property - super hosts

We had a fabulous stay at this property, Steve and Gabrielle are wonderful hosts. The house is spacious and immaculately maintained and kept. The pool is a wonderful addition perfect for a dip on the hot days. Perfectly situated for cycling, hiking, kayaking plus some lovely villages and towns to visit close by. A great stay will certainly be back. Thank you

Spectacular Country Villa

I cannot say enough about this lovely country estate. It is such a large home that can house many people. There are 5 floors with many sitting areas 3 kitchens and 5 bathrooms. The gardens are lovely with a large beautiful pool. It is in a lovely little village with lots of great scenery when you drive to other villages in the area. We loved it so much we plan on going back sometime in the future. Very peaceful place to stay! Cannot say enough good things about it.

Fantastic villa, even better than advertised

We were a group of 10 (two families, 4 adults, 6 children between the ages of 13 and 6) who spent a glorious 2 weeks at Mas de l'Aire. The house and grounds are truly lovely, and even better in person than in the pictures. The highlight for our family was the expansive pool, in which our kids spent hours. The pool house, with kitchen and bathroom was very handy, and the pool deck was perfect with a nice mix of sun and shade at all times of day. The house is very spacious, with tons of living space, comfortable beds, and a very well equipped kitchen. The house offered great space and privacy for two families sharing. The weather was spectacular while we were there, so we hardly used the living spaces, but on the one rainy day we experienced, the house offered lots of room for 10 people to spend some quiet time indoors. The terrace was also a lovely feature, and we dined al fresco almost every evening. The owners were very communicative and easy to work with. They offered tons of advice - from directions to local activities. We were met upon arrival by a local host, Rika. She did a great job orienting us to the house and area, and she served as our point of contact while we were there. While the town was small, we enjoyed walking to the bakery for breakfast each morning. There is plenty to do and see within an hour's drive of the property. We explored nearby medieval towns, visited local markets, took in caves and gardens, and did a number of local hikes. We also visited some larger sights, like the Pont du Gard and Montpellier. Any way you head, it's a beautiful scenic drive. Given our visit was in August, and it was hot, we did most of our activities in the morning and spent the afternoon by the pool. A wonderful vacation, and I would love to return, and would highly recommend it to others.

Love to return!

Our family of 12 stayed at Mas de l'aire in late May and we had a wonderful time. The grounds are spectacular and the pool is beautiful. Our family played bocci ball on the grass, games in the pool and enjoyed dinner on the outdoor patio. The house is very large and has many separated areas so it was easy to find a quiet space in the midst of a large group. With 12 people, there were plenty of bathrooms and also lots of room in the kitchen and dining area for cooking. It was very well equipped in the kitchen. Everywhere we drove was so picturesque, it made me want to move there, the local market at St. Hippolyte was charming with a fresh trout truck and many local sausages, cheeses, herbs and honey. We enjoyed traveling nearby to many historical sights. Some of us also enjoyed going to wineries, nature hikes, and just walking to the town for the local pastries. It was very scenic and restful. I would go back again and stay at this lovely villa. Thank you for sharing the beautiful countryside and allowing us to stay in your home for a unique family get together.

Beautiful home in countryside!

A great home for a family vacation! A loved home that has been maintained and updated. Fully furnished home and kitchen, gorgeous pool and landscaping. Essentially all you could need. The town of Monoblet is picturesque surrounded by rolling hills, winery's, and very cute towns to visit for the day. A must stay!

Return Visit

My husband and I stayed at this property in early May. This was our second trip to Mas de l'Aire, this time just the two of us. We quickly found a nice balance between relaxing and enjoying the beautiful house & grounds and exploring the surrounding area. We used the Voie Verte between Quissac and Sauve a number of times for exercise. This is a paved (and flat!) recreation trail that is perfect for biking, walking or jogging with fantastic views. The market in Quissac is quite lovely and Sauve is a neat medieval town so either end is a good finish! We visited a different local market each day. The market in Le Vigan is particularly plentiful and it is a beautiful drive from Monoblet. Another great drive was up to Mialet (near Grottes de Trabuc). Our best meal was lunch on the patio at the Auberge de Valestaliere - lovely food and lovely hosts (who speak English). We also enjoyed a quaint patio (Croque ta Toile) in a quiet & pleasant little square in Anduze for a light lunch and bit of tranquillity on market day. Sommieres is another good day trip and lots of patio lunch options! We found Mas de l'Aire a wonderful place to 'just be' in France and enjoy all the Cevennes have to offer.

Mas-terpiece

Mas de l'aire is spectacular! What a property: phenomenal house and layout, great sunrises and distant views, awesome pool and gardens with wonderful nighttime lighting accents. We loved the braying horses near by, the cool quiet nights great for sleeping and the daytime weather in late October was spectacular for hiking in the Cevennes, thru local ruins, visiting local wineries or enjoying the street cafes in Anduze or a night time stroll through the Medieval city of Sauve. The drive from Montpellier airport was easy at just under an hour. Grocery shopping in "Hyppo" excellent as is the local art. We loved taking the five minute walk each morning into Monoblet for fresh baguettes and croissants and back in the afternoon for a Pastis at the bar. Multiple options for jogging. Options abound for daily fun from short drives into Nimes, Arles or Avignon for museums to the coast for beaches and seafood. Local options include hiking, caving, rafting, riding and of course relaxing. I just wish we had booked two weeks instead of one because there was so much to do and we were having such a good time. We shall return. Magnifique!

Taste of France

We stayed at this fantastic property for a week in early summer. The grounds are simply beautiful - flowers, grasses and fruit trees abound. We spent many hours sitting on the terrace or by the pool just taking in the views of the property and the hills beyond. The house itself is a lovely traditional French mas that has been tastefully updated. The furniture, including beds, was all new and the kitchen was well equipped for cooking with all the tasty local foods. We were a large group of all ages but the bedrooms and common rooms are so well spread out that it never felt crowded. We enjoyed shopping at many of the local 'provencal' markets in the towns surrounding Monoblet. We went for walks around Monoblet, hikes in the nearby hills and even river rafting near Laroque (great place for lunch). Monoblet itself is a small, quiet and quaint hamlet with the grocery and other shops of St-Hippolyte du Fort just a short drive away. There are a number of horse stables in the area. You very much feel like you are in the real French countryside. We are already looking at booking our return trip!

superb!

We were a family of 12, ages 5 months to 75 years, celebrating together. The adults speak French and three rented cars. The area is rugged, rural, full of gorges and switchback driving, and cyclers, but thankfully not full of tourists. The village is very small, and so sightseeing requires having a car. That said, there are medieval ruins, the trail of R.L. Stevenson, art communities, hiking, water sports, delicious local cuisine, wineries and more. The house is exceptionally spacious and well-appointed for both comfort and entertainment, and the huge saltwater pool is irresistable. The English style gardens are a masterpiece. The owners, caretaker, and local people we met were all friendly and very helpful meeting our various needs, including restaurant recommendaitons. We would love to return. We brought our dog, but pet owners should know the property is not fully fenced.

Great place to bring people together

My brother, sister and I brought our families together in June for a decadent week at this spacious and comfortable Mas. There are plenty of quiet nooks and reading rooms to find peace and quiet when you need it, but lots of common areas for dining and spending time together. The house was tastefully decorated and the furniture was brand-new (beds comfortable!). The gardens are gorgeous, with apricot and fig trees, berry bushes, and beautiful flowers. We spent hours in the pool with the kids, admiring the surrounding mountains and countryside. On our more ambitious days, we tried the nearby trails, summiting "Les Jumelles" or just strolling around the village. We were pleased to discover the little Saturday market in the village square, with fresh goat cheese, breads, jams, local fruit and vegetables. It was fun to watch some of the World Cup games at the pub with the locals and our kids really enjoyed visiting the many horses just across the street. We visited medieval towns and castle ruins nearby, and shopped at morning markets in St Hippolyte, Quissac, Ales. But best of all were the quiet afternoons chatting together in the garden, trying out wines bought at nearby vineyards, snacking on delicious local cheeses and charcuterie with fresh baguette and strawberries. We will absolutely be back!

Fantastic Stay at Mas de L'Aire

We have spent a wonderful 6 days here at the beautiful Mas de L'Aire in Monoblet. The weather has been hot so we have spent a lot of time exploring the area on foot (great walks in the hills) and by car and found activities to entertain all age groups. The house is spacious and beautifully furnished with modern equipment and amenities and there are multiple living rooms to occupy so its is ideal for several families to share. The pool is well designed and large enough to exercise and play in so we have spent many hours relaxing in the peace and quiet of the garden. All in all this is a perfect place to come and enjoy Provencal life!

Lovely holiday

This is a fantastic - and huge - mas, well converted to a high standard throughout, with a well kept garden and a large pool. It is also well located, both for exploring the national parks and also for some sightseeing in Avignon / Nimes / Uzes etc, or just relaxing. We spent a great week here and could happily have stayed for much longer.

A beautiful, large house with a wonderful pool in a lovely part of the world.

This is a great property, one of the nicest that we've stayed in. It's huge - much larger than it appears in the pictures - but all the rooms are lovely. Most of our time was spent outdoors - the garden is as well-kept as the house - by the pool or out and about. The Cevennes is nearby and there's fantastic swimming to be had in local rivers. We really loved it here.

Huge amazing house in beautiful quiet area of France

We are a family of 2 adults and 3 children of 14, 11 and 9 and were looking for a house with a big pool in an area where there was kayaking and active things to do nearby. We stumbled across the property by accident when looking in the Ardeche and are glad that we did. The house and pool are huge - we didn't use half the rooms, and the owners were fantastic making a real effort ahead of travelling to ensure we were fully briefed and offering ideas for what to do. We split our time between the amazing pool and activities including: kayaking, horse-riding (right next door), hiking, cycling and riding the train in Anduze. The commune itself is very quiet and quite isolated. It is mainly locals - slightly bemused by tourists visiting! If you made the effort though, they were very friendly. If you want a quiet, beautiful place to stay, for 1, 2 or 3 families we would thoroughly recommend a stay here. A, T, T, J and E

Why they chose this property

This has been my second home for the last decade. I love this corner of the country - the culture, the cuisine, the weather, wine, country side and outdoor activities. I chose Mas de l'Aire because it was the most beautiful house and setting I had seen. No other home had a home rendered me speechless.
