About this property

Little Log Cabin in the Woods!

This Little Log Cabin is located 15 min from Eugene in the heart of wine country. 20 min to UofO. Claw-foot bathtub with shower. WIFI. Close to King Estate, Sweet Cheeks, Noble, Silvan Ridge & Domain Meriweather wineries. No pets allowed. 2 nights minimum stay.

So if you've ever thought you'd be right at home in a log cabin then you've found the right place. There is nothing like the warmth of a log home. This location is private and quiet. Queen-size bed in the loft is cozy and perfect for one or two. Queen-size Hide-a-bed downstairs sleeps 2 more! TV, DVD-HDR and VHS player. Free satellite channels and WIFI. A great selection of books, old and new, promise to enhance your stay with a little extra reading time. No Pets Allowed. Stay here for the pure enjoyment of living in a log cabin and the pleasure of enjoying the country you are in. We've purposely avoided hanging a clock so your time is yours, and yours alone. Rental Agreement and Waiver for term specified must be signed prior to checking in.

This cabin is located in a private setting at the end of the road. Walk down to the pond, use our paddle-boat, or enjoy the open grassy areas. Deer graze freely on the clover and beg handouts of apples in the late summer, right from your doorstep. Drive slowly on our 1-lane road; they think they own the place! Just 2.5 hours from Sisters, 1 hour from the coast (Florence), 15 minutes to Eugene and if you're interested in a Duck game or track and field events at Hayward Field we're just 24 min. to the UO Campus. If wine tasting interests you, this little log cabin is just 15-20 minutes away from surrounding vineyards and wine tasting rooms. Superb dining is available at King Estate Winery just 15 minutes up the road. Oregon Bach Festival at the Hult Center (20 minutes away) and many upcoming University of Oregon events at Hayward Field make coming back each year something you won't want to miss. There is also a great 2 mile walk around Peaceful Valley that promises to start your day off on the right foot! Fresh, crisp morning air before breakfast is what early-to-bed-early-to-rise is about. So grab your country clothes and favorite well-worn shoes, stop by the store, and come out for a little peace and quiet.

A great little recirculating stream and waterfall complement this private and absolutely beautiful property and are a short walk from your cabin door. Property is landscaped yet naturalized with native plants and grasses. Our water has a sulphur smell which is odd yet naturally occurring in our area. It is safe for household uses and is safe to drink. We have a filter system on the well and can switch out the filter so please let us know. Enjoy a paddleboat ride down at the pond and view the many deer and other wildlife who frequent our property. Previous reviews welcomed as we live nearby.

Check-in and Check-out times can be adjusted. Just let us know what will work best for you and we will be happy to see if we can accommodate your wishes. Standard check out time is 11:00 am and check in time is 3:00 pm unless other arrangements have been made. We have a home nearby so if there is anything more you need - just let us know! We will respect your privacy while you are here and yet will try to do everything we can before you arrive to make your stay a 'Notch Above the Rest'! :) Sorry, this listing is not suitable for young children, due to the spiral staircase. Map of property, located inside, shows areas that you may access as well as areas not included. AT&T Cellphone coverage is spotty but Verizon works well. Will consider long term guests.

Home away from home

My husband and son stayed here after moving from Iowa before my husband came home. It was a great place for them to unwind after a long day of moving things and doing sightseeing. I received many pictures of the wildlife and they liked fact that it was very secure. I communicated many times with Mike and Linda and they were very helpful and responsive and made the first time using VRBO a success. I would highly recommend staying here and I am looking foward to coming out for my first visit too. Check in was easy and very detailed instructions for the stay. Thank you again!!!

Little cabin in the woods

We had a great get away out in the countryside with being 15 mins away from Eugene in one direction and wineries in the next. Deer and turkeys visited us daily. Host was supper accommodating and communicated back quickly when I had questions.

U of O Parents Weekend

The log cabin was perfect for the two of us and had everything we could’ve wanted (even several resident deer!) Thank you for sharing your beautiful property with us. We didn’t get to any of the wineries, but maybe next time!

Loved the 'Little Log Cabin"

It started when we arrived...lights on, music playing and fresh fruit in the fridge....What a warm and cozy place to spend time. We loved the secluded setting, and after we mastered the spiral staircase enjoyed everything about this charming retreat. Don't miss dinner at the KoHo Bistro. It was outstanding.

Cabin In The Woods

We had a perfect stay at this quaint cabin in the woods. The host was so kind and responsive for any question I might have had. Although the location is peaceful and seems remote, it was a quick drive in to Eugene. You do need to be able to climb the spiral staircase up to the sleeping loft but will feel like you’ve woken up all the beauty of nature!

We LOVED our stay in the small cabin! Can't recommend it more. From sitting outside on the deck watching wildlife to being inside on the comfy couch having hot chocolate. Mike & Linda are the best and always in check to make sure all our needs are met. Would love to come back and stay soon.

Absolutely amazing peace and tranquility

This property is everything the listing says and so much more! The attention to detail the owners have put into the cabin and surrounding area are completely over the top. You completely feel like you're 100 miles from nowhere yet you're 10 minutes from downtown. There is a family of deer that roam the property as well as birds and squirrels. The cabin is so cozy, quaint and inviting with all the modern convenience's. The peace and serenity is outstanding. I whole heatedly give the highest of recommendation to this property and it's owners!!!🤘✌️👍

What a sweet little spot!

We loved our extended stay (6 weeks) in little home away from home. The cabin is stocked with everything one may need and perhaps forgot- from an extra toothbrush to coffee and laundry supplies. Kitchen is complete with all necessary utensils and cookware ( no oven but a toaster oven and a microwave). Books and DVDs, a grill with the charcoal. Lovely back patio with deer grazing and chickadees and hummingbirds all over the place. We experienced several days of, what use to be unusual hot weather. The cabin did get a bit uncomfortable however it stayed reasonably cool if all closed up during the day. The pond became a favorite spot to have our glass of wine at the end of the day, the sound of the stream cooling and relaxing. Yes it is a little ways out in the country but the trade off with the beauty of the Oregon trees and wildlife in the backyard is worth it. Linda and Mike live on the property, very respectful of our privacy but also accessible should we have needed anything. We so enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back soon!

About the host

Hosted by Mike and Linda

Host profile image
We enjoy family gatherings at home, fishing, camping, oil painting, gardening, working in our little fruit tree orchard, and planning great family get-togethers. Our motto is: Cream Always Rises to the Top; and The More the Merrier! We love to barbecue and entertain friends and family. We are fortunate to be able to offer our little log cabin on VRBO.

Why they chose this property

Enjoy use of our Kayaks while you are here! See pictures of pond and wildlife areas. Fire pit outside cabin door is available for evening enjoyment. Just ask and we'll supply wood for your campfire. We are situated in the beautiful Willamette Valley, right in the heart of great wine tasting country! 5 wineries are within 15-20 minutes of our property and Eugene is only a 15 minute drive away. For Duck football fans, this is a great place to stay. It's only 20 minutes to Autzen Stadium! The beautiful Oregon coast is just 1 hour away. The Portland Airport, Cascade Mountains, Mt. Bachelor, The Three Sisters mountain range, and the little Western town of Sisters are about 2-3 hours away. Major airlines service the Eugene airport 20 minutes away from us. We enjoy living in the Willamette Valley and continue to discover new places to visit. We love going to the Hult Center for the Performing Arts (on the Broadway Circuit!) as well as the Very Little Theater, a venue for local performing artists. We are fond of the Oregon Electric Station for dinner as well as King Estates Winery for exquisite dining - both only 20 minutes away. And we always suggest the 5th Street Public Market for an exceptional down town experience: local brew pubs, wine tasting, jazz, ...Eugene has it all. This is what we like about living here! :)

What makes this property unique

We have enjoyed landscaping our property over the years. We have a garden and a small orchard that keep us in canned goods the year round. You are welcome to use the Kayaks and life jackets while you are here. We live on the property in a separate log home across the way.
