Family Christmas

We were pleasantly surprised with how well stocked this place was. You really don't need to bring anything but your food and clothes. There was loads of space for our party of 8 to sleep and enjoy eachothers company. Waterton townsite is abiut a 20 minutes drive. Our host offered us a park pass to use during our stay. Jan was lovely. Would definitely recommend and will stay again.

Great family weekend!

Spent a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend as a family. The dark skies, and the family of owls, and the board games were awesome. Next time we will bring a turkey to cook!

Great property in an very nice location close to Waterton national park. However the listing states that there is a hot tub, there is not a hot tub on this property, very misleading add should be corrected.

Best homestay in southern Alberta

The home accommodates 8 people comfortably, has every convenience, is well maintained, has a view you can gaze at constantly and gives easy access to Waterton Park. The owner is very welcoming and super helpful. You will love it.

Sisters Getaway

There was 4 sisters for a quick getaway. Everything we needed was there. So nicely decorated and clean. Room for all of us. Beautiful backyard, horses that came and visited. Waterton just a quick drive away. And the ice cream at the corner store just down the road from this location was so amazing.

Peace and comfort

This place was wonderful! So much space, multiple seating areas, and gorgeous views. The night sky was incredible, and we left the curtains open on the floor to ceiling windows to be greeted by the incredible vistas. We didnt have time to use the firepit area but hope to be back with the whole family next time!

Great Getaway

My friends and I loved this property it was so cozy and had everything we needed for a weekend getaway. We loved the upstairs loft that felt more so like a big slumber party. Definitely recommend for a weekend getaway when you just want to enjoy each other’s company.

Fabulous property with a view to remember

Chief Mountain Lodge is located with quick, easy access to Waterton National Park. The property is so well appointed with everything you need from sleeping, kitchen and dining to a cozy fire pit to games and kids toys. The property manager is very friendly and super helpful. At the end of the stay we left with happy hearts, trying to figure out when we could come back.

Great place for a family getaway!

September Stay

Five women rented this VRBO for one week and we found that the one and a half bathrooms was actually very ample for us as there were lots of places to store our toiletries and the tub shower was in a separate room from the sinks. A half bathroom on the second floor would be a great addition for those middle of the night trips to the bathroom. The house was a good basic clean but it seems to need a deep thorough cleaning/dusting. It was very quiet and the view was very lovely. We loved the rustic charm of this rental!

Perfect weekend getaway

We had a girls weekend bachelorette here and it was perfect. Perfect amount of space, cozy, everything we needed. Gorgeous view of the mountains and under a half hour to waterton which we visited and was also stunning and a great stop to eat and shop. We look forward to renting again!

Stayed here for a weekend to celebrate a milestone birthday. 6 adults fit very comfortably. Property was exactly as listed and well stocked. Great location for view and access to the park and other sites. Definitely recommend stay here! Jan was a great host.

Awesome accommodations for decompressing and enjoying the Waterton area

Jan was very helpful and kind. My wife and I had to get away from the rat race and we like to come down to the area once a year. This house is a dream for me as it overlooks Chief mountain. There occasionally horses in the neighboring pasture that like to be hand fed. It's magical.

Amazing Place

A wonderful property in the hamlet of Mountain View. Very close to Waterton and the town and area offer. Place was clean, inviting and cozy. Plenty of household items in the kitchen, plenty of supplies throughout. Already planning our next adventure back in the area.

Family Reunion location

We had family from Barrie, Ont., Calgary, Alta, St. Albert, Alta, Vancouver, BC, and Houston Tx all convene in Mountain view and we used this spot for visiting the local sites. The location was great and the backyard was awesome to view the big sky and open space. We truly enjoyed sitting in the yard after dinner and having a few drinks and laughs. No real neighbours - just a lovely rolling field to the horizon whenr the mountains take over and some cows in the distance. Easy to get to local sites on Hwy 3 and Waterton. We also went to Lethbridge. We had total privacy and the owners were on sight but did not intrude. They left a nice welcoming note and we had a quick chat when we moved in. Inside decor was great - kitchen well stocked for our big gang and we easily cooked breakfast and dinner (with our own food). We slept 10 inside and our first night 3 nieces/nephews pitched 2 tents in the backyard. We had a great family reunion and the ambiance added a lot of value. I recommend this location as a launch point for some local touring. I would easily return

I am not a native to Mountain View area having grown up in Calgary but my husband and I have lived here for the past 18 years. Three of our 5 children also live here and 13 of our 17 grandchildren. I was a Dental Hygienist for 30 years but have been in the hospitality industry for the past 18 years in Waterton and in Mountain View. So you could say I went from cleaning teeth to cleaning toilets!! I hope that your stay at Rocky Mountain Guest House will enable you to get out and explore this part of Southern Alberta and come to love it as much as I do.

What makes this property unique

You never get tired of viewing Chief Mountain, weather it be in the early morning, late evening, or seeing the storms surround it's grandeur. You may also enjoy the shaded lawn area, reading a book and looking up to take in the view and bird watching.
