Great house in great location, near beach and Newport.
This house is huge, with 3 well-stocked kitchens, a great rooftop deck, large yard, lots of living space, and in the heart of shops and restaurants in Middletown. Easy walking to Easton Beach, a 2 mile walk to downtown Newport, and a 5 minute drive to second and third beaches and the nature preserve.
We would stay here again, but would like to note a few defects that should have been taken care of, given the cost of this place. When we arrived we found a broken shade in a primary bedroom on the top floor. We rigged it up temporarily for privacy but were unable to open it for the view. We notified the owner right away but she never sent anyone to fix it. The two bedrooms with bunks have no AC. Luckily it wasn’t too hot when we were there. There were plenty of bath and beach towels, but only one kitchen towel for a house with 3 kitchens! Perhaps this was an oversight. A few other minor issues included a missing tv remote, lights that were not working, and the basement tv did not work. None of these were major issues, but one would expect everything to be in working order for the price.
Furthermore when we arrived, the cleaning people were still rushing to get done, past the check in time, and mounds of garbage from the previous tenants were left behind, and were not placed in the bins provided.
We still would recommend this rental, despite some issues.
