The property management company was helpful. Emails before we arrived explained the gate code/key retrieval process clearly. We had no problems getting into the unit. Once in the unit, we quickly discovered that the electric heater in the master bedroom did not work at all. The bedroom was very cold. Maintenance could not get to the unit until the next day. We paid for a full day of skiing and my husband had to wait for the maintenance man to arrive, tell us that it was broken and that he did not have another unit. Because of this, the bedroom did not have heat for our entire stay. Also, my husband missed at least a 1/2 day of skiing waiting around for no resolution to the problem. Management did provide a tiny space heater, was COLD! The master bathroom outlets did not work. An outlet in the main dining area did not have a plate, exposing a large hole in the wall. I'm pretty sure that's not to code. Floor boards throughout the unit were missing and/or cracked and splintering. There were blankets thrown on the floor of the closet, not folded. I would not let anyone use those blankets because they didn't appear to be washed. The dryer was not effective. Upon taking out the lint trap, it was full of lint from the renters before us. The chair in the living room was torn. The unit overall was a hodge-podge of dated furniture and uncomfortable beds. There was change and garbage left in the bathroom, unfortunately not enough to cover the expensive stay. There were 2 pairs of men's shoes in the closet of the guest bedroom. The unit did not appear to be exceptionally clean, despite assurances that extra precautions were being taken. The only thing that I can say that was nice, was the location....However, there are other ski facilities that are cheaper than Sugar and offer nicer accommodations. I understand that the condos are privately owned. Management needs to check the units out regularly for wear, tear, and code violations.
