This charming log cabin on Flathead Lake is located on the east lakeshore of Flathead Lake in northwestern Montana. The views from the dock are spectacular of both the lake and the surrounding mountains. Flathead Lake is the largest freshwater lake west of the Mississippi. It covers over 191 square miles with depths over 380 ft. and is one of the cleanest lakes in the world. The cabin sleep 10 people. Swimming, fishing and boating available off of the dock.

The town of Bigfork is a picturesque and charming place. World class art galleries, fine restaurants, a 27-hole golf course, live theatre and unique shops can all be found within a quaint Western setting. Located near by, Glacier National Park, the Bob Marshall and the Swan Wilderness areas are full of wildlife and offer endless recreational opportunities for outdoor enthusiasts. Bigfork offers you and your family a part of the West that you will never forget. Many hiking trails are close by the property. The property is split by the highway.

Winter opens up a whole new world of outdoor adventure across Montana’s diverse landscape. Flathead Valley's 2 ski resorts mean fewer people, shorter lift lines and a lot more untracked snow.

Winter time fun includes 2 ski resorts. Cross country skiing available right out the door. Whitefish Mountain Resort has been one of America's favorite destinations for good times, good people and good snow since 1947. Rising above the historic railroad town of Whitefish, the resort has gained notoriety for its laid-back vibe, world-class skiing and spectacular summer recreation. Consistently ranked highly in SKI magazine's annual reader survey, it is just as well known for a pleasant lack of lift lines as it is for friendly. Blacktail Mountain is a friendly mountain perched above Flathead lake. Amazing views of Flathead Lake, light dry snow on north-facing slopes, great rates and excellent service will have you hooked!

Relaxing family trip for 8

Our family of 8 loved our relaxing time at this home. The loft was a highlight space for 3 of our teen children and there was plenty of room for everyone.

Great time!

No issues with the cabin, everything seemed clean. Little hummingbirds flying around, peter cottontails eating grass, no bear sightings, beautiful clear lake. Love the smell of the cherry trees out front.

There were a few surprises with the house rules and layout of the property but they were manageable. We had a great time and would definitely go back for another stay.

Awesome cabin with a great location!

We came to Montana to attend a wedding in Polson, but wanted to venture to Bigfork and Kalispell. Cabin is conveniently located between the locations. Lots of wildlife! We saw a bear in the yard as we pulled up. Deer and rabbits were also seen. The view from the deck was amazing in the evening. The only feedback I have is the ability to see the property sign and entrance at night. My mother in law had trouble finding it. A few bike reflectors screwed to the sign may help. The entire family enjoyed our stay.

Perfect and comfortable Montana Cabin

Perfect, cozy, comfortable Montana cabin. Starting a real fire in a fireplace seems to be an anomaly today. Our family of 10 enjoyed our time together around a cozy fire every evening. I would definitely reserve this cabin again!

Family Time

Whispering Pines was a perfect setting for our family vacation. We were happy to see all of the necessities since the majority of us flew to Missoula so we did not have to do much shopping once we arrived. Convenient locations between Polson and Big Fork and easy commute to Glacier National Park.

Lovely getaway!

Loved this cabin! Large enough to fit our annual girls trip to Flathead Lake and had everything we needed! One thing to be aware of: the A/C is a window unit, but the weather cools off at night and there's plenty of fans to keep the house cool! Loved having water access- just a short walk down to the dock. We'll be back next year!

Cozy house, nice kitchen, comfortable stay

We had a great weekend with our friends. The walk down to the lake and across the highway was a little unexpected. One of our members has some mobility constraints, and the walk down was too steep for him to get to the dock.

Very nice

We enjoyed our time on Flathead lake at the cabin. The lake itself is absolutely gorgeous! The cabin was a little outdated, and there was a musky smell we'd notice every time we came inside...but not so bad that it bothered us. We would get use to it fairly quickly. I would definitely recommend friends and family to stay here.

Beautiful home. Extremely clean and was able to fit all of us.

Only thing wrong was the wifi didn't work. However it wasn't as big of a deal due to most of us not being at the house during the day time.

Comfortable stay

We are really glad we stayed here! Host Leesa was kind, responsive and professional. The house had an adequate supply of bath & beach towels, and kitchen had plenty of spices, oil & cooking utensils. Everything was fresh and clean upon arrival. The rooms and beds were comfortable. The sitting areas are cozy and comfortable. The deck facing the lake was nice to watch the sunset. The house has only one a/c unit but they provided plenty of floor fans to keep the air circulating. The dock and access to the water was a short walk across the highway and down a small hill - this was manageable for us with older kids but I can see how it might be challenging for those w smaller kids or elderly. Very nice property - would stay here again.

Beautiful cabin across the street from Flathead Lake

My family had a wonderful time in Polson. The cabin was well equipped and had the cabin feel I was looking for. I do want to say this cabin was NOT on Flathead Lake. The dock that the owner owns is across the street (a busy 60mph road). I honestly was a little upset as I thought the dock was on the same property of the house. I also wrote the host on July 3rd to ask a question and still haven’t a response. Outside of that we enjoyed the place. I only wish the wording was accurate on the description.

Well appointed

Well built home with great views. The location is great for exploring the region. The kids loved the dock and water front. We were down there every evening watching the sunset. The property was well appointed with everything I needed to cook a variety of meals. The fireplace was a treat to have and everyone enjoyed our evening fires. The road noise is noticeable and probably the only downside I can come up with. It's to be expected and we were there in the late fall months. You couldn't hear it while sleeping but, it broke up the quiet of sitting on the deck and watching the lake. A very small criticism of a wonderful property.

Was good until the end

This was our second visit. Flathead Lake can’t be beat. We had a great time until after we checked out we were accused of stealing beach towels. I offered photos to prove the towels we used but it wasn’t accepted. We pride ourselves on being excellent VRBO guests. I vacuumed, put pillows back, cleaned counters. started laundry, ran the dishwasher. Does this sound like someone who would steal towels? I’m frustrated. I get some people might do this, but that’s not us!! You better take photographs of the inside of the house before and after so it doesn’t happen to you.

This log cabin setting is amazing. The view from the dock on the lake and the sunset is hard to beat. The peaceful setting makes for great sleeping. Secluded property is perfect for recharging your soul.

The cabin sleeps 10. Entry on the main level. The main floor is very open with floor to ceiling windows that provide lots of light. The kitchen, dining area, and living area have an open floor plan. There are 2 bedrooms on the main level. One with a king size bed and one with a queen. The bathroom has a granite countertop with a copper sink and tub with shower. The living area has an over-sized sofa and upholstered chair and a 50 inch flat screen TV with DVD. Floor-to-ceiling natural stone fireplaces in the living room. Wifi Internet access included. The kitchen is fully equipped with a pan for every cooking occasion.

The loft has a big open space to spread out with one queen size bed and two twin beds.

The lower level has a living area with sliding glass door entry. Sit in the love seat and enjoy the wood burning stove. The bedroom has a king size bed. One bathroom with stand up shower.
