Good property - very remote and what we were looking for. It shows like the pictures,
We had a family reunion and it worked well for us overall. I would stay there again and recommend to others.
Internet was not great given we were remote. I would have apprecaited a few more towels and a fan or two given the heat. There was no washing line at the time we visited.
We loved it here. My husband and I came from California for a stay at the end of August. The weather was great and there was plenty of room to have friends and family stay with us. The house was well equipped, showers worked well and the beds were very comfortable.
As I read about previously, Emma was a wonderful host and extremely responsive and helpful. I hope that she works on commission because it would not have been nearly as fun if she had not been there to bring a crumble and cupcakes. Even loaned us her own internet when we couldn't get through to California.
Would come back in a minute and would highly recommend.
Thanks again Emma!!!!

Loved our time at Croft Meadows
This home was such a neat home—the dirt track, the hill, Emma and Matt (and their boy and dog) the Peak District—it was all fantastic and we loved our time there. The house was fun and historic, spacious for a large family of 8. The kids loved the area and the fields and cows. We would totally visit again if there is another time in the area. Emma and Matt were the perfect hosts for our time. Thank you.

Fantastic christmas getaway
Absolutely brilliant Christmas break. All the facilities in a wonderful setting completely away from everything (you are half a mile off road!). One small problem with wifi connection was speedily resolved.
Wonderful walks on doorstep and a short distance away and as an added bonus the weather behaved!
Lovely cosy property! Immaculate and well looked after. Location was perfect for our needs. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning
Spacious, comfortable and warm. Ideal for a group of6 plus baby. We used it as a base for attending our daughter's wedding. It's a rural area. The track to the property is very rough. The details sent to me about the WiFi were incorrect but we eventually sorted it
This is the third time we have stayed at Croft Meadows Farm and this time was the best yet. There has been quite a bit of investment in the property since we were last here with new bathrooms and a new boiler. Emma and Matt look after the property and the guests cannot do enough to make sure your stay is enjoyable and to make sure you have everything you need.
There was 4 adults, 3 kids and a teenager in our group and there was plenty of space for us all. The garden is a lovely place to sit and relax with a cup of coffee or a glass of wine depending on the time of day. A car is essential as it is very rural and situated down a long track, however this does make it extremely peaceful and a wonderful place to switch off.
We will be back!
As A group of musical friends , we get together annually to play music and meet up as we live in different places. Croft Meadows Farm was exactly the right place , and we were well looked after by Emma. Would not hesitate to recommend to others
Absolutely fabulous.Wonderful host everything there that you could need beautiful decor and really cosy
I would recommend this property even had Deer as neighbours including a white stag
We had a lovely time at the house, which was as described and the approach no where near as bad as some reviews have made out. The beds were comfortable and the cookies delicious! Emma was very helpful and April a delightful bonus visitor.
Loved the property which everybody agreed had been renovated to a high standard. Matt and Emma were friendly and helpful hosts in every way. Would highly recommend it to anyone like e arranging a family retreat/reunion needing five bedrooms. One constructive suggestion: Needs a sigpost on the last turnoff to the farm as most people (including me on several occasions) missed it completely.
Lovely large farmhouse, light and airy. Beautifully furnished. Private garden with wonderful scenery. Hosts Emma and Matt are amazing hosts who are helpful in every way. On our list to return !
We spent a long weekend for a family reunion just before Christmas at Croft Meadows.
The house is spacious, with a very large qns comfortable open plan living/dining room with lots of different sitting spaces - perfect for a large group.
The heating was a total godsend given the freezing weather outside: even my 87 year old Dad felt toasty!
The cottage is very well equipped for cooking and baking too, making catering for a large group easy.
Our hosts (Emma and Matt) were brilliant. Lovely, welcoming and so laid back but super efficient.
The setting is idyllic with easy walks out (even in the snow!) through stunning scenery.
A perfect stay and would definitely come back and recommend to others.
We stayed for a wedding which was very local to the house, our host Emma was excellent nothing too much trouble. I would recommend the rural location but it was also close enough to local towns like leek , Buxton, bake well etc

Liked: Check-in, communication, location
Stunning scenery but the cottage needs work - some urgently
First the best points = Emma and Matt are excellent - the scenery is stunning.
Now the not so good points - the heating is antiquated, very loud and the radiators are either going full blast or stone cold - the radiator valves don't work - needs servicing or replacing. In this age of very high bills it must be costing them a fortune - particularly with Autumn and Winter coming.
The downstairs accessible room - possibly not used much - was very musty and took us three days to get that smell from the room. The accessible wetroom - for my disabled wife - was 30 METRES from that bedroom and was DISGUSTING. Emma did her best to help us but if we had not had a wedding to go to on the Thursday - we had booked Monday to Monday - we would have left on the Tuesday. We left on Friday after the wedding.
The kitchen needs updating and we had to clean out the dishwasher and the washing machine before we could use them.
Lastly the track to the cottage is a NIGHTMARE and should not be attempted by anything except an SUV or you risk serious damage to your cars suspension.
In conclusion Emma and Matt were very good but they do not own the property and cannot make changes which are obviously needed.
Good communication from property manager, property was lovely- plenty of room for our whole family. Walks right from the doorstep and some wonderful wildlife visible from the house.
Naylors weekend - beautiful area, cottage and host. We all had a relaxing, dog walking 60th family holiday. Great to have access for an elderly member who needed downstairs facilities, meaning she could come with us all. Thank you
