Spectacular vacation property!

My friend and I, 2 women in our 60's, just left this apartment. It was wonderful in every way. David, the owner, is a very special man and truly cares that his guests have a wonderful time. He communicated with us frequently prior to our arrival and was there waiting for us after our lengthy flights from the U.S. We sat for a couple of hours with him as he gave us recommendations of places to see, restaurants, explained the transportation options, and went over the apartment in great detail. He even offered to take us on a special outing to some villages outside of Barcelona, but we ran out of time. He has created a huge book filled with maps, websites, everything you might want to know. And yet he was never intrusive. He lives about 15 minutes away and made it clear a text or phone call would be responded to immediately. The apartment is spotlessly clean, both beds were very comfortable and the kitchen with all new appliances was amazing. The apartment is an area of locals, we always felt safe even after dark, and the hop on hop off bus and the metro were very close. We were close to the beach and the waterfront, yet the metro quickly took us wherever else we wanted to be in the city. We could not have asked for a more perfect stay in Barcelona, nor a better host than David. If you can stay here, you should!

Best Renting Experience Ever!

I'd say I'm an "experienced" renter, with 30 or so over the past 20 years-several in Barcelona. And this experience rates among the best ever -- a great apartment and a truly fabulous host who should be giving lessons to other vacation-rental owners and most agencies. From the time I arrived for my two-month stay, nothing was too much trouble for David -- he went far above and beyond the "call of property owner duty" on every occasion. Warm, friendly, gracious and truly concerned that my experience should be a great one. The apartment itself is exactly as advertised or better, with lovely, high quality furnishings (including one of the best beds I've ever slept in) and equipped with everything one might need -- right down to soap and shampoo, beach towels, etc. Arrive with your suitcase only -- and you will likely be greeted with a lovely fruit basket, a bottle of wine and "welcome" staples such as coffee, OJ, etc. David takes great pride in his property and maintains it to a high standard, constantly redecorating and adding new design touches. The apartment is located in the newish area of Front Maritim, so while not having the historic character of downtown is very clean, green and safe -- and only a 5-10 minute walk to my favourite beach, Mar Bella. Within 5-10 minutes walk are a few supermarkets, restaurants, etc. as well as the Metro, and the charming older "village" of Poble Nou is just a 15-minute walk away with more shops, bakeries, restaurants, etc. But what truly made this experience exceptional is the host/owner. After more than a few experiences renting where the owners essentially "disappeared" once they'd gotten their money, David was attentive, thoughtful and there in an hour if anything was needed. He loves sharing his knowledge of the city and making sure his guests enjoy their experience. In short, a very nice, comfortable apartment and a gem of a host!

Perfect for us in Barcelona!!

We loved everything about this stay! The hosts were lovely and even left us essentials in the fridge for our stay. It was a quiet neighborhood block & located close to quick places to grab food, get to the train, or enjoy the beach. Our check-in was with a host that was Spanish-speaking only but we figured it out and communication through the VRBO was excellent! Thank you for lovely Barcelona memories!! We hope to be back soon!

Amazing

We booked this apartment because of the location, images and the reviews. When we reached the apartment David was already there he is very friendly and made us feel welcome. David spent some time with us showing us around his immaculate apartment. David provides everything more then you would think. The kitchen had a bowl of fruit, milk, water, juice and he also bought some prepared food from a local delicatessen as we have young children. The location is great beach close by, grocery shops, Selva de mar metro, nice walks and also great sleep in the night! We felt just at home and the kids loved their stay too! Thank you for all your help David!

A great location and a lovely place to stay

FANTASTIC!! David is a wonderful host. We have rented many places and I must say David is one of the best host ever. You will become friends. The description is accurate, in every detail. David has a book that is complete with maps, tours, restaurant guides, phone numbers for everything, he is very organized. The apartment location is perfect, a very nice, clean, safe and quiet area. We walked a lot and never felt uncomfortable. The location is so great, just minutes to everything you need and the bus, tram and MRT are a 3 to 5 minute walk. We purchased passes for 10 euro which cover all three. It makes it so easy to get around and everything is in English. The apartment is complete with upscale beautiful appliances, even an expresso machine, and a regular coffee maker. A nice surprise was the stocked kitchen, wine, coffee, teas, milk, juice, fruits, cheese and crackers. This was so nice as we were able to settle in and not run to the store. The bathroom has a great shower and is stocked with all the items you need hairdryer, shampoo, soaps and toothpaste. The bed is very comfortable. Perfect location, so easy to get around and the beach is so close and a great place to walk. The area has many nice restaurants, bakeries and little coffee bars, close by is the Culinary School, it's a great place for lunch or dinner and a great deal. You will love it here. David is the perfect host! We couldn't have received better service in a five star hotel.

I will not repeat the other fabulous reviews here but will reiterate that David was a very responsive host from the minute we put in an enquirer. He is very concerned about your well being and wants to make sure everything is accommodated for so do not be shy about contacting him with any concerns. His English is excellent. The apartment is as pictured and described. It is lovely and has everything you need. The location is very safe and though not right in the action of things, it is a very easy walk or metro ride into La Rambles and the Gothis quarter and elsewhere. The fact that it is a bit removed means it is very quiet at night! Great sleeping. A perfect place to stay if you have a conference at the CCIB. A great place to be if you enjoy a long beach run. Barcelona is lovely and David helps you enjoy it even more.

A Home Away From Home

A great place to stay in Barcelona. The apartment was clean and tidy and had everything one would need during a vacation. The location is great. The MRT and Tram station is only about 5 minutes walk away. The bus stop is just around the corner from the apartment. The Diagonal Mar (Mall) and conference center is 10 minutes walk. And if you love the beach it is only a few minutes away. If you feel you don't want to cook, there are a number of "Tapas" cafes near by. If you like Chinese food the Wok Chow Restaurant near the MRT is a good place to go to. All you can eat for 23 Euros for 2 people. David, our host was great. He went out of his way to make our stay in Barcelona a memorably one. He treated us to a huge bowl of fruit and food supplies when we arrived. For over an hour he showed us on a map where to go and visit. He even helped us organize our transport back to the airport after our stay. My wife and I have travelled to a number of places around the world and stayed in various apartments, and no other host has every treat us like David. A big thank you goes out to him. I highly recommend David and his 2 bedroom apartment for all those who are looking for a great place to stay in Barcelona.

Sea Elegance was a very nice unit with great access to the beach and transport. Easy access to the underground train. David was good to deal with and responsive. The kitchen is well equipped and we were impressed by David's thoughtfulness. We stayed for 5 days and found the local amenities such as food and groceries were close and convenient.

We couldn't have wished for more.

We booked the apartment at the last minute BUT were VERY impressed with the response from David the owner and even more impressed when we arrived. David was there to meet us and then spent over an hour showing us where everything was and explaining all the methods of transport from the apartment and where to go and what to see. The apartment itself had EVERYTHING you could wish for in the way of electrical goods and on top of that David provided tea, coffee, milk, butter, jam, a full bowl of fruit and 2 bottles of wine. David was amazingly passionate about Barcelona and was as good a host one could wish for. We would have no hesitation in recommending this apartment to friends and family and when we will hopefully return to Barcelona next year we will DEFINITELY be staying here again

Home away from home!

We are an Irish couple age range 73---79 years! We rented David's apartment for two weeks in September 2016. We were met by David on arrival. He gave us a passionate account of the area,and Barcelona City.He is truly a Catalonian in love with his corner of Spain! The apartment was so well situated beside the Hop on Bus and general City bus,3blocks from the Metro --walking minutes to a beautiful beach---these were all the reasons why we chose this apartment --Location --Location! David was very kind and so helpful and texted us if there was any ongoing celebrations in the area e.g. Fireworks or Festivals. The apRtment was so,cosy and extremely well equipped --top of the range Fridge/Freezer,oven,dishwasher,washing machine,dryer,very clean. Towels(lots of them) beach towels,beach umbrellas,shopping trolley---could ramble on!----everything is supplied by the owner. Beds so comfortable,and air conditioning brilliant. We had a wonderful holiday and made a new friend in David and hope to keep in touch and go back sometime again.

Good base for Barcelona Experience

The apartment is well located for exploring Barcelona with the metro just three blocks away and a great way to get around the city. Generally very comfortable although we did find the beds not so comfortable. Also some good local eating places which we used as too tired after a day's exploring to travel further. The apartment is air conditioned in each bedroom and lounge which was great and it is stocked with everything you need including basics in the kitchen for cooking. David stocked up with fruit, milk water and wine which was a bonus. David was a friendly helpful host and very responsive when we had a problem.

A Great Place to Visit Barcelona

This apartment is located in the new Barcelona area, a stone's throw from the beach, restaurants and the metro-we especially liked the restaurant across the street. The abode is on the second floor of apartment building with an excellent elevator; this two bedroom with bath apartment is air conditioned with WIFI; it features a kitchen with all new appliances,a living room with two sofas and a new television; there is also a balcony overlooking a park area. David was very helpful in our two week sojourn pointing out places to visit and where to dine. All in all,we highly recommend this apartment for anyone visiting Barcelona

An apartment and a new friend

It is difficult to do justice in a written review as to how great this place is. The apartment is beautiful and comfortable, only a few minutes from the beach and less than a 10 minute walk from the metro that takes your directly to almost any place you want to go in twenty minutes or less (it is an excellent line for seeing all of the tourist places). David has thought of everything in the apartment - separate air conditioning units in each room, fully stocked kitchen (including treats and wine for arrival), TV with both satellite and cable as well as DVDs, super comfortable beds and bedding, washer, dryer, dishwasher, ironing board, etc., etc. However, the big plus to this apartment is David himself. He spent a good 2.5 hours showing us the apartment, going over tourist sights and making recommendations for restaurants. He was super responsive if we needed anything - very quick to get back to us via email or text message and went above and beyond in every way. This is easily one of the best vacation rentals I have been fortunate enough to find.

Perfect base for exploring a wonderful city

We had a wonderful trip to Barcelona facilitated by the warm hospitality and welcome of David the property owner. He provided excellent pre-trip information to help us plan our visit but also to be comfortable that we were making the right choice for accommodation. The spacious and clean apartment is in a newer residential area of Barcelona, just 5 metro stops from the downtown core...close enough to be there in 15 minutes but far enough to get away from the bustle and noise of the city. It is also very close to the beach - although the weather was too cold for us to swim. He welcomed us with a basket of fruit and food and wine in the fridge! David also provided us with an extensive orientation to the immediate area, the apartment and to the city sights - more than enough to feel comfortable for our stay. We were out and about every day sight-seeing and going to evening shows and found it easy to catch the metro and safe coming home late at night. David came by several times while we were out to check in that everything was going well - very attentive. We have two teenagers - one slept on the sofa bed and one in the second bedroom - worked just fine. You would have to like a firm mattress in the master bedroom.Real plusses were being close to grocery shopping, a comfortable balcony, and the in-apartment washer and dryer as we were on a longer trip to Europe - it allowed us to pack light and wash clothes along the way. On our last day, David arranged for a taxi for us to the airport, met us at the apartment to ensure that we were all set and said a warm farewell. All in all an excellent location and well equipped apartment. We would stay there again.

Best Place and By Far the Best Host in Barcelona

First, the apartment. Located just a bit northeast of the center of town, David's apartment is simply wonderful. It is quite easy to get into the heart of things as the apartment is only a few minutes from a metro stop. Also taxis are abundant, cheap, and easy to take. Located only a block from the beach, the apartment is also close to local restaurants, pharmacies, a nice supermarket, and it's just three blocks from a shopping mall with a two-story hypermarket. The apartment is located in a modern building, has a great terrace overlooking a large courtyard, has two bedrooms and a sofa bed in the living/dining room that can be used as well. The kitchen, for an American, is simply wonderful. There is a washer and a dryer! A dryer in Europe! I never thought I'd see one! Look at the photos. The apartment is even better in person! Upon arrival, David takes his time to explain not only the apartment and the neighborhood, but he has a full book on Barcelona as well. He is rightly very proud of his hometown and he takes his time to ensure that visitors get to know more about Barcelona than what you get in the tourist books. I spent nearly a week at David's apartment with my brother and our mother. We had planned on a typical sightseeing trip of five days/four nights. But the trip quickly took another turn. Each one of us caught and passed on a nasty stomach flu (norovirus) to each other. For those who have had it, you're pretty much incapacitated for 2-3 days. And this is where David became much more than a host who just took money in exchange for lodging. Our mother was not faring well and needed to get to a hospital. When I contacted David for advice and to see if we could extend our stay by a couple of days, he didn't just phone it in. He arrived at the apartment within minutes and drove us to not one but two hospitals because there was a mix-up with the insurance at the first one. He acted as an interpreter until we were able to get through the initial screening and (thankfully) get an English-speaking doctor. And then he kept checking in on us after we headed back to the apartment. When you travel thousands of miles away from home, you're happy just to get a good restaurant recommendation. You simply don't expect to meet someone with the character, dignity, compassion, and humility of David. This is a great apartment and an even greater host.

Excellent choice

My second time in Barcelona. First time stayed in the city centre. Thsi time decide to go with something different. Loved the fact that the apartment is right by the sea, every morning we could go for a walk and have an expresso, priceless. Also, for a 5-7min walk you could access the subway station and could be anywhere you needed to be in the city. There is a shopping mall only 10 min walk, with all nice clothing and spanish shoes. The apartment was nicely decorated and David ( the owner) goes above and beyond to help you with explaing the city, possible tours and everything you need to make the stay enjoyable. The apartment was good for 5 of us, the neighbourhood was quiet and safe. Would go back in a heartbeat. Wanted to mention that going through vrbo listings for Barcelona wasn't easy, most of the owners were listing properties that they werent renting, David's listing was accurate description and was as it appears in the listing.

Amazing location

My wife and I just got back from Barcelona. David's place is wonderful. He did a great job decorating the place and everything that you need to feel at home is there. We were greeted with a couple of bottles of very nice Spanish wine and some delicious pastries. David speaks perfect English. David has compiled a binder which described all the major (and some minor out of the way places) that was very helpful for finding our way around this amazing city. Thank you David for a memorable experience.

Lovely Barcelona Apartment

We stayed with David for five days in early October. David met us at the apartment and he spent the next couple of hours describing the local area and the many sights of Barcelona. He loves his city and is happy to spend as much time as you desire telling you about the fascinating architecture and history of Barcelona. If you have no interest in this, just let him know what your interests are up front and he will make his presentation fit your needs. The lovely apartment looks just like the pictures. David thoughtfully left wine, fruit, coffee, and some vegetables in the kitchen for us. It is stocked with most condiments that you will need. The local grocery store is two blocks away. A very large shopping center is just across the park. Everything you need - restaurants, shopping, metro, and of course, the beach are all only a short walk away. David lives not far away and is always on call for you. He is very responsive to your needs. The area feels very community oriented and you feel safe walking anywhere - even by yourself. In the late afternoon and early evening, the communal garden area at the complex is filled with families and their children. Happy sounds of children laughing and playing float up to the apartment patios. You will feel at home here and you will really enjoy meeting and visiting with David. He works very hard to make you feel like you are “at home”.

Amazing stay

My husband and I together with two kids (2 and 6 years) had a great stay in the biginning of May at David's apartment. First of all, the apartment is beautiful. It is in a great district close to remarkable restaurants, great shopping and the beach. It has everything a mother should need. Including a baby bath, potty, a step for the sink, a high chair, etc. There were some wet wipes as well. The kitchen has everything you might dream of. Including three I think coffee makers. David had a bag of some terrific coffee for us. He also bought us some fresh pasties to greet us and a bottle of wine. It was just what we needed after the flight. David spent enormous amount of time on explaining everything to us - including where to go sightseeing, how to get to places and other. He also prepared a brochure on where to go and what to do in Barcelona and vicinities. I hope you enjoy your stay in David's apartment. It was amazing.

Best Barcelona vacation spot!

Hola, Acabamos de regresar de Barcelona pasamos 10 dias increibles y la mejor parte de todo fue poder pasarlos en SEA ELEGANCE, el apartamento de David definitivamente es un lugar para recomendar, es el lugar perfecto para unas vacaciones en familia en Barcelona, cerca a la playa y cerca a todo con una estacion de metro a solo unos pasos de distancia.. en un vecindario muy seguro y tranquilo con supermercados y restaurantes muy cerca y un gran centro comercial a tres cuadras de distancia...David te recibe y te da la bienvenida a su apartamento y a Barcelona como nadie, te dice a donde ir y como hacerlo y si tiene tiempo te da una vuelta por los mejores sitios de la ciudad..!!El apartamento es amplio y muy bien equipado, es realmente una excelente opcion que recomendamos con mucho gusto! We had the best time ever in our July vacation in Barcelona, it is one we will never forget, David kindness made us feel very welcome in Barcelona and at his place, a very nice and well equipped apartment, the best location, close to the beach to the metro station and yet away from the noisy Barcelona nights, it really is a place worth renting if you plan to got o Barcelona, David is very kind and ready to help you out in case you need help, and if he has time he will even show you around and give you advice on what really matters in Barcelona.. he knows his city!!

Absolutely Wonderful!!!

Our stay at David's "Home Away from Home" was fabulous. Although David was our landlord we thought of him as our host while in Barcelona. He made sure we were very comfortable, provided information about places to go, checked in to make sure we were okay and even took us to view some amazing aspects of the city. His apartment is ideally located closed to everything important...beach, metro, shopping, parks, etc. David has set-up his apartment such that it is truly a home away from home. All of what you need to enjoy your stay is provided (water, milk, juice, spices, kitchen supplies, toiletries, etc.) and the apartment is well furnished with high-end appliances and great furnishings. We moved to another apartment half-way through our stay because David's apartment was originally booked for the second half of our trip and it was nothing to compare to David's. We kept comparing so much that my daughter had to tell us (my husband and I) enough already. We loved David's warm personality and by the end of our stay, we felt like he was an old friend. We will be back!!

Because the apartment is perfect, the area lovely, and I am passionate about what I do.
First of all I am a local, born and raised up in Barcelona, I know deeply the history and architectury of the city, and if you check the AMAZING reviews I have had for years, you will confirm that I do what no other people do: I take the time to meet you on arrival and provide you all the information you need during your stay from the beginning, adapting to the number of days you spend in the city.
This includes an explanation on the neighborhood (supermarkets, restaurants, public transport, how to manage garbage...), the apartment itself (appliances, TV with international channels, heating, air conditioning...), and the city (what you cannot miss, what to get tickets for...), I also will send you google maps links with my recommendations, and routes!.
You will have the tools so you can choose what to visit to make your stay perfect.
I am REALLY 24/7 available for any emergency or doubt, as I feel responsible of my guests while they stay with me. Everything will be perfect, but what if a child felt ill in example?. There is when you see the difference between staying with me and elsewhere!!.
I have very often reviews in all the webpages where I am advertised like "We have been travelling all around the world in many countries and properties, and I have never found a host like David".
It is very hard nowadays, when people is so busy, and in the middle of a trip, that they decide to spend time in writing such long reviews as I have, because they really feel grateful to my efforts to make their stays memorable, everlasting in time.
If this is common, it cannot be a coincidence!!!

Qué hace que este alojamiento sea especial

I think I provide the best welcoming and checkin process in the city:
I will be waiting for you personally at your arrival, explain you the neighborhood like nobody else, then show you the apartment in detail, and finally the best: an explanation on the city highlights, tips, and even routes (previously prepared with google maps) through all the areas, which I will send you through message so you can discover all the hidden gems like a local, adapted to the number of days you stay!!!.
To start with upon arrival, I will explain you all the basic details about the neighborhood such as close by supermarkets, restaurants, how public transport works, how to manage rubbish, etc.
After this introduction, we will go upstairs and I will show you and explain you the apartment, apartment appliances :Smart TV, Cable TV international channels, dryer, washing machine, dishwasher, and you will see what stocks the apartment, as my wecome pack is unique: fruit, juice, milk, water bottels (although you can drink tap water), a bottle of nice wine, coffee (nespresso), sugar, some muffins, butter and jam... washing machine soap and softner (there are detergent capsules for the dishwasher also), toaster juicer, kettle, everything top quality , also of course shower gel, shampoo, sponge, bar soap, toothpaste, first aid and sewing kits.
-Towels, beach towels, beach umbrellas, umbrellas, etc
And after this explanation on neighborhood and apartment, we will sit (unless you are too tired) and I will explain you the city highlights, adapted to the numbers of days you stay, even sending Google Maps directions to my suggestions!!!.
This takes a while, but how you will take the most of your stay is absolutely different with me, and that is why I have the best reviews in Barcelona.
