Excellent hospitality

Great place with everything our needed for a long week-end: clean cozy home, a couple of min from the beach, books, cds, few movies, good wifi and BBQ in the backyard. We arrived late evening and the owner even had breakfast food for us and gave us a ride to the station. Thank you!

Quality time with my mum.

This was ideal for us because mum has very limited mobility. The access was flat and parking right outside the front door made access easy. The flooring was easy to use a walking frame on. No rails in the shower which we were advised of prior to our visit but I assured Lionel we were not planning for mum to use. He was rightly concerned for her safety. Well equipped,lashings of hot water,generous fridge and freezer space. Patio facing south to sit and sunbathe on. Easy access to Lee-On-The-Solent along with cafes with sea views. Lots of places of interest nearby which we didn’t visit as we were extremely happy getting some sea air on the beach path and pottering in Lee-On-The-Solent itself. Lionel was very caring and hospitable host. We are planning to return at some point.

Relaxation and fresh air for mum

Ideally placed for a 10 minute walk to lee on Solent along the flat prom. With mum in her buggy hired from lee on Solent mobility it took longer. The mobility shop could not have been more helpful. Back at the accommodation the flooring was easy for an indoor wheelchair and walking frame. Lionel was concerned as in general his property is not totally accessible as no hand rails etc. For someone who is able to walk but can’t do steps it’s ideal. The parking outside is on the level with the accommodation. Well equipped even down to having thermos flasks etc. We hope to return at some point. This was my second visit. My brother came as well this year. I feel I may have left something out. I would recommend lee on Solent as a good location for all ages. There are play areas and splashy parks in lee on Solent for smaller visitors. Beach is shingle apart from low tide but we saw alot of families enjoying the beach. Many thanks Lionel

Lovely apartment

Lionel was a polite ,helpful and friendly host. Apartment is beautiful, everything you need. Lionel left breakfast items for us,which was a lovely touch. Brilliant location, just a 3 minute walk and you are at the promenade and the beach. Highly recommend

The flat is at ground level and has everything you need. Owner live above but you have full use of the garden. Would recommend

Ideal

This is a lovely spacious well thought out property. Clean and comfortable. Parking at the front of the property is level to the front door. Access is level throughout and roomy enough to accommodate a wheelchair or walking frame in the hallway and lounge. The shower is not accessible for mobility limited users. There is a well equipped kitchen,lovely sun lounge and outside space for sitting and relaxing. It’s location for Lee on Solent is about 3/4 of a mile walk along the sea front. Once we had parked the car we didn’t need to use it again until we left. This is our third visit . Thanks Lionel for another happy holiday.

Great beachside vacation stay!

The beach house was perfectly located for our family vacation with the beach and town centre on our doorstep. Lionel was a great host, we really appreciated the welcome food pack and the set up. It really was a home away from home!

Great Location

Visiting relatives in Gosport we decided to try the Beach House rather than a B&B. Good choice! Ideal location, handy for shops, restaurants and pubs. Comfortable and spacious with a great host - Lionel who was available if needed but didn’t intrude. Highly recommended.

A perfect restful retreat

Lionel was an exceptional host. I was traveling from USA and his communications were timely and detailed. Lee-on-Solent is a well kept secret and a friendly small seaside town with a lot of personality. Walks along the beach and through the nearby Browndown nature preserve were enjoyed daily.

Nice little new year break

Accommodation was clean, cozy and very welcoming. It is in a lovely position on the front and a short walk from the amenities. We chose to stay there as we were so close to our family and know the area well. Lionel was a great host and communication was spot on. Thanks Lionel.

Great location

We stayed here due to having a major water leak at home. Great location which is just across the road from the beach. Lionel was great at communicating and made sure we could get into the property despite him not being there on our arrival. He kindly brought us some groceries so that we could enjoy a lovely breakfast on our first morning. My daughter is disabled so the property all being on one level was perfect. Also the en-suite has a walk in shower which worked for her mobility issues. Lovely wide drive and small slope into house was good for her too. There is also a pub and chip shop just up the road and we had the best fish and chips we’ve ever eaten. Our only complaint is that the wifi signal wasn’t good. If one of us was using it the other would get kicked off. Other than that the four weeks we spent there were good.

Great mini break

Lionel is a great host , his property is a home from home and his pre arrival call to make sure we had what we needed is the perfect touch to the start of a great break . The location and spacious accommodation were perfect for a short break by the sea .The property had everything we needed and is a short walk away from the shops , pubs and food outlets we shall return here .

Very Recommended

Flat was clean, comfortable and we'll equipped with everything needed. Just a short walk to the beach, and very peaceful, which is just what was needed. Plenty of local history and wildlife. Would fully recommend this to anyone who wants a break from the rat race.

Lovely house, great host

We had a great time at this terrific property. The Beach House is perfectly situated, lovingly maintained, and extremely well equipped. Unfortunately the weather was not great so the conservatory was ideal for relaxing in and giving that light 'outside feel' without the need to get wet! As a host, Lionel is excellent: pre-stay communication was very clear and comprehensive; the hand-over process was concise and informative; 'local knowledge' (especially of restaurants) is very good; the 'thank-you' call after our stay was very considerate. Highly recommended!

Great apartment, very spacious. Lionel was very helpful and a perfect landlord. The apartment really is only 3 minute walk from quiet out of town seafront with plenty of benches and nature walk.

Lovely, spacious apartment.

We had a lovely stay at this spacious, well situated apartment at Lee on Solent. Welcomed on arrival by the very nice owner, Lionel, who gave us the keys, and also supplied an excellent assortment of food for the next mornings breakfast, which was much appreciated. We were pleasantly surprised at the size of the apartment, which had everything needed. There are plenty of shops, takeaways and pubs within walking distance, and just a short walk to the beach. Will definitely stay again when next in the area.

Short break

The property was clean , well maintained and well equipped. Lionel was a great host, providing the supplies for a first day breakfast, and available on site if required. The location was great for access to the beach, and just a 10 minute walk to the shops and restaurants in the town. We had a lovely holiday and would go back to this property again.

A Welcome Dose of Sea Air

Lionel's flat was well equipped and comfortable. The photographs don't really do it justice. We appreciated how close it is to the sea front and the fact that there is good off road parking. Lionel is a good host and the welcome pack he supplied was excellent. Despite mixed weather, we had a great weekend and enjoyed some goog birdwatching locally.

I moved into this area from London on joining the Royal Navy in 1971. Having worked and lived in many places around the globe it is Lee on the Solent I fell in love with and have chosen to make my home. I am an Engineer but have always found that my real talent lies in dealing with people in fact my greatest achievement after fatherhood was receiving the MBE from her majesty for a role directly linked to talking and hosting people in and around the United Kingdom. I am retired and live above the property and look forward to meeting and hosting peoples from around the world. I have spent a long career travelling the world and meeting people and now look forward to people meeting me and hopefully giving me the opportunity to show others the same level of hospitality which was shown to me in my travels.
