Lovely views, great house

Detached house in quiet cul-de-sac but only 5 mins (down and up a hill) walk from Bowness town, shops, pubs, Beatrix Potter.House has 3 good sized bedrooms, twin and 2 double, one has a nice view. Spacious and big enough for our family of 4 adults and 2 children. House fairly modest decor, slightly dated perhaps, but fine as a base, very clean and all you could need.My son liked the swing, garden on a slope but you can sit in living area and look at view, it was a lovely vista over Windermere.Fully equipped kitchen, 2 toilets, games, playing cards, WiFi, washing machine and utility.A good spot to visit the lakes - can do trips from Bowness pier. We drove further afield and looked at waterfalls, went on steam train. We had small issue with the key safe box not working, but was sorted quickly. The drive is quite steep so we parked on road directly outside house. My husband's only complaint was the bed slightly small - he's 6ft, so maybe a king-size bed in one of the rooms at some point, but otherwise, a very pleasant stay and the house as described.

Great Stay

We normally stay in remote countryside cottages, but this lovely property in Bowness on Windermere offers a great location with excellent amenities within a short walking distance. The location was a fantastic base to explore the Lake District and the house backs on to the countryside with beautiful panoramic views of Lake Windermere from Brant Fell. The property itself was clean and cosy for a family of 6 and the best part of it is the spectacular balcony view on offer.

Great week, thank you

We usually stay in more secluded cottages but still found this property very cosy and peaceful. Stunning views over the lake and fells, and Bowness has everything you could need for a week.

Excellent venue for a break with the family.

Flawless property in a prime location. Living room has a stunning view of Bowness-on-Windermere and the lake with a balcony and patio furniture available. As a family of six, four adults, two children, we found the size of the property very comfortable. Visiting over New Year we had the best view of the fireworks imaginable. Communications with owner were superb, we will certainty be back again in the future. Highly recommended accommodation.

Beautifully presented property for a comfortable stay, close by to shops, lovely walks and the Lake.

A beautiful home for a fabulous stay, this property is so homely, beautifully decorated, has everything you need and very convenient with just a 5 minute walk into Bowness on Windermere, local shopping is good, all you can ask for, lots to do and see, we walked around the Lake, fed the birds (bird feed available from the local shops) which was fantastic, they're not timid at all, we took a 35 minute boat ride over to Ambleside, the captain on the boat was very funny, informative and friendly we purchased a brandy coffee so we could sit upstairs and braced ourselves for the December cold weather, coming back we sat downstairs to take in the whole experience and views, we also walked into Windermere one day which took around 25 minutes, the owner of this property Lake Side even organised a Christmas Tree and decorations to make our stay so perfect, thank you so much, we loved our stay and will definitely return in the near future to continue with all the things we just couldn't fit in on this occasion.

Lovely family holiday

I recently stayed here with my wife, baby daughter and my parents, and was very happy with our stay. It was very spacious with a very large living room, perfect for my little girl to roll and to have her first crawl 🙂 We found the facilities excellent including the high chair. The house was spotlessly clean and tidy with amazing views of the lakes. It is only a short walk to the town which was perfect. The owner contacted me and recommended places to eat and activities for us to do which we found very useful and added that personal touch to our stay. I reccomend staying here, we enjoyed our stay and the memories will be with us forever.
