This studio apartment is on the top floor allowing for great panoramic views over the castle. The square itself boasts a vast array of shops/cafes/pubs and restaurants. The apartment is compact, bright and clean and provides a great location to explore the Edinburgh Festival. There is a double bed and a sofa bed and comfortably sleeps 3. The kitchen has all the facilities and equipment you need to fully self cater including a dishwasher and a washer/dryer. There is a multi storey car park 2 minutes walk away, although there is no real requirement for a car, as the apartment is located right in the heart of Edinburgh, nestled into the very castle rock itself. For cost conscious visitors to the festival this flat is the ideal offering. Studio apartment with balcony viewing the castle, smart TV, 1 double bed and 1 double sofa bed. All towels, bedding, etc supplied. Washing machine/dryer and dishwasher inc. Recently fully renovated and includes free wireless broadband.

Entry is anytime after 1pm. Check out is by 10am. All bookings are based on sharing. Early arrival and late check out can be arranged with additional cost to be determined by circumstance.

Brilliant, modern, studio apartment in historic building with unbeatable views.

Delightfully located flat with great views of the castle and the old town. Access from Grassmarket, one of the most scenic squares in the heart of the city with numerous options for cafés, restaurants and pubs to chose from. In common with almost all the old properties, there is no lift, but the views are certainly worth it. Thanks

Very central but cleaning could be improved

We had a lovely stay in this apartment which is very central. However the cleaning could be improved and we also found a little mouse the last day of our stay. We communicated the issue straight away but still our last day there was simply a nightmare as we couldn't sleep all night.

Nice apartment, clean, brilliant view of castle from small balcony, very close to restaurants, pubs and the Royal Mile. This is a studio apartment, not a one bedroom flat - not obvious from the property description

Great handy location however very noisy from bars and testaurants.

No milk provided with tea and coffee and had to buy toilet paper. Sticky surfaces on benches so unable to put any paper on them, no dishcloth to wipe with and had to provide own. Great view of castle from little deck

Neat and tidy .

Property is well positioned to explore Edinburgh Castle literally on doorstep and attractions such as royal yacht are easy to get to via excellant bus services . Property at top of building ( 3rd floor ) so good view of castle.

Great location, compact accommodation, perfect for a weekend break

Perfect location for exploring Edinburgh, easy to find with the directions given. Once we got our bearings it was easy walking distance to all the main attractions. The apartment was compact but had everything you needed away from home. It would have gained more stars if the cleaning had been of a higher standard, the worktops were sticky and kitchen cupboard handles dirty. We were only there for 2 nights so didn’t cause us too much issue, we ate out all the time but this could have been expensive if we had stayed for a week. Would recommend if using as a base rather than a retreat

Lovely appartment in a perfect location

The appartment was perfect for our anniversary weekend, was really lovely cosy and comfortable , deffinately felt like home away from home , it had all the facilities we needed , in a great location for edinburgh, situated in a lovely area, close enough to the town centre , we did lots of walking and exploring and loved it, and the stunning view of the castle from the balcony ... just wow x

Very pleasant experience

Lovely studio apt with all the necssary equipment needed for an enjoyable stay in an excellent location. Apt is located on the top floor but is very quiet given that there are numerous bars and restaurants below. The castle can be seen from the window and the little balcony and is less than a 10 min walk from the apartment. The only tiny negative is it could do with some cleaning products to be able to wipe work surfaces down etc but thats just a small gripe

A really lovely apartment in a great location!

The apartment really is as nice as it looks in the photos. A great apartment, nicely furnished (very comfortable bed), with everything you need. A lovely little balcony with a view of the Castle. It is on the top floor but Edinburgh has a lot of steps and hills so a few more steps didn't bother us. In a great location too. Grassmarket has a variety of bars and restaurants right on your doorstep (but the apartment overlooks the Castle, not Grassmarket so it is quiet) and the Royal Mile is just a short walk away. Waverley train station is 10-15 minute walk. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this apartment and if we return to Edinburgh we would definitely stay here again.

Spacious it is not

Listed as a 1 bedroom, this is a small studio. Getting to the room with luggage is a chore -up 3 flights of narrow, dimly lit, filthy concrete steps. This was a bad first impression but we were hopeful the room would be worth it. It was not. Notice there are only 3 photos of the room, that cleverly lead one to believe it’s a 1 bedroom, while in reality, the bed is located adjacent to the table, nearly in the kitchen. Also, the balcony is approx. 3 x 3 ft, not big enough to comfortably sit two adults, and where was the grill?? Finally, after seeing the condition of the bath towels- well worn, like the ones you wash your car with we could not imagine staying here for 4 nights so we checked into a nearby hotel. I would never recommend this to a friend.

Castleview

The location was spot on- we saw Edinburgh Castle through our windows. The property manager was very responsive to our questions. We were, however surprised that the rental was 3 flights up spiral stairs, and that there was scaffolding over our front entrance because the roof was being repaired (which was noisy during the day). That being said, we LOVED the view and the proximity to everything. Knowing that it was up 3 flights of stairs, we would stay here again. Tie exercise was well worth the view and proximity to everything!!

Location, Location, Location

Edinburgh was our final stop in Scotland after hiking through the Highlands. The apartment was easy to find, and walkable from bus/train stations. This is a walk up, as others have mentioned, but for us it was manageable. I could see if you travel with multiple/heavy luggage or have mobility issues that it would be a struggle. The location was right in the mix of touristy areas and a quick walk to the castle (the view!), and also had easy access into other neighborhoods/bus stops when we wanted to escape the crowds. Loved the dine-in peninsula for relaxing in the evenings with snacks and telly. Bed was comfortable, water pressure was fine. There's a Sainsbury's nearby, and a little fridge in the unit, which was also nice for snacks and light meals. My only minor issue was some of the kitchen equipment was sticky and needed a good scrub. We mostly only made light breakfasts, so not a deal breaker of any sort. Communication was clear and helpful. We enjoyed our stay!

Awesome castle view

This property is very close to the castle and other visit-worthy locations. Restaurants and shopping are close by. The unit had everything we needed, including a washer/dryer. The host was very helpful and responsive. The listing was accurate regarding the stairs up to the unit - it was worth the climb.

The flat was very lovely. It was perfect for what we were looking for. The location was central to all the activities we were doing in the old town. The only thing was the lights in the stairwell were not working so it was very dark when we got there. But the view of the castle was get.

Edinburgh - Im Zentrum eine Stadt der Treppen

Warum erwähne ich das im Titel? Weil wir davon etwas überrascht wurden. Wir sind mit dem Bus vom Flughafen zum Zentralbahnhof gefahren und von dort zur Wohnung gelaufen. Der kürzeste Weg beinhaltete jede Menge relativ steile Treppen mit Unmassen von Touristen. Körperlich eine echte Herausforderung (und ich halte uns für fit!). Im Haus selbst gibt es als Krönung noch eine enge und steile Treppe bis zur Wohnung. Die Wohnung selbst hatte einen eher rustikalen studentischen Charme. Alles etwas abgenutzt. Die Lage allerdings ist perfekt - mitten in der Alststadt.

The location and view of Edinburgh Castle are fabulous. The Grassmarket area was convenient and lovely. Do be aware that you have to use a winding staircase to access the room. The room is nicely furnished but lacking some basic supplies (no dish soap to hand wash our water bottles for instance)

Grassmarket apt.

The building vestibule and staircase are pretty dingy. The Apt itself is modern and tidy but the carpet is stained and needs replacing with something more cleanable. The unit is well equipt for preparing meals and the laundry was a bonus. The location was right in the thick of the tourist areas so very walkable. The communication was prompt but not particularly friendly.

Well located BUT …

The building entrance smelled of urine and was littered. Water infiltrated the ceiling in front of our apartment and wet the floor making it slippery. Inside the apartment the bedroom and bathroom were fine (clean and comfortable). The kitchen: dirty dishes and ustensils in dirty cupboards and dirty drawers, greasy dust on shelves and the microwave, no possibility to handwash dishes (only lukewarm water for the kitchen sink, no dish towel, no dish cloth). The only option was using the dishwasher daily. We expected better. This apartment has not been thouroughly cleaned for a long time.
