About this property

Whether you are vacationing from afar, escaping San Francisco summer fog, tending a nearby remodel or planning a girlfriend getaway, you will feel like you are on vacation in this home. Step inside the gate off a prestigious, quiet, and convenient street and you are greeted with a jewel of a place to relax, entertain and plan your next adventure, although many days you might not want to leave the premises!

All 2200sf thoughtfully planned, this home lives like a dream. Refinished for our family of 5, the master suite is upstairs and the other 3 bedrooms and bath are downstairs. Separate comfy TV/DVR/stereo zones up (living room) and down (family room) mean you can live comfortably as a couple with occasional guests or as a family with teens or younger children.

Also upstairs: dining room (seats 10+ w/leaves), living room (fireplace, TV/DVR), powder room, fully-equipped kitchen w/ice machine and 3-stool bar seating, breakfast nook (seats 6), sun room, two sets of french doors opening to large rear sundeck with outdoor dining table and bench seating area, 3-zone indoor-outdoor stereo system.

Also downstairs: laundry room and storage area. Downstairs has cozy ceilings (about 7') and is partially below grade. All rooms have windows and good natural light, and there is a separate exit to the back yard from the family room.

Premises: The back yard is serene and private and features a pool (unheated 15x30), stand-alone 3-4 person hot tub, a grilling patio and a nicely landscaped faux-grass area bordered by a walnut tree, lemon trees, rose bushes, crepe myrtles and more. Evening garden lights in the front and rear add to the elegant, festive ambience.

Parking: There is plenty of street parking in front of the house and across the street -- never a problem. Optionally, the gravel driveway holds two cars end-to-end inside the manual iron gate. Front entrance to the home is a circular brick walk, and paths left and right thru gates around the home are nicely landscaped with ivy, flowering bushes and trees.

We use this home regularly ourselves, and so we can honestly say that this home has everything you need to just relax and enjoy.

Quality home, good management

Beautiful home in the best location

Our family loved our stay in this beautiful house. The location is perfect to be able to visit San Francisco, Oakland, John Muir, and wine country. The surrounding area is convenient to groceries, small restaurants, and water sports. The home is spacious enough to spread out and the rooms are comfortable. The home is very well appointed and beautifully decorated. The backyard is an oasis. Ozzie is a great host and very responsive. We look forward to our next visit to the Bay Area!

This house is amazing! It was our first trip to San Francisco and it was the perfect getaway. Just 20 minutes drive to San Francisco. Quiet place, pool, spa, cozy atmosphere! Everybody loved it, we highly recommend!

Family vacation

The place was great! Close enough to San Francisco but away from all the noise and traffic. Very easy access to many attractions. The house was amazing very clean and well equipped. Very cozy and welcoming. Too bad we didn’t spend much time in it because of the day trips we did. The only negative thing was a running water noise in the middle of the night on the last 2 days we thought there was something wrong and everybody woke up. Other than that I have no complaints and definitely would come back

Kentfield retreat

Great location for attending wedding at San Francisco Theological Seminary. San Anselmo is a cute area nearby with a ton of cafes and beauty salons. The house was beautifully decorated. It was along great for grilling out as there was a poil and hot tub. We had family come and go throughout the weekend as we were there for a wedding. It's perfect for entertaining. There is also a lot to do nearby in Muir Woods, Stintson Beach, Saulsilito, etc. The owner, Ozzie, was easily accessible for questions. He sent someone to fix hot tub, door handle, and door lock imediately on our second day . It's a nice neighborhood and it was really quiet. The only reason he didn't get a five star rating is because the basement smelled really badly and it was a little unerving leaving the house unlocked with all of us sleeping there and our possessions as the door lock was broken.

Had a great time. The house was advertised as sleeping 8. We had 7. Unfortunately that was for 4 couples. The master bedroom had a king sized bed which was awesome. The othe 3 bedrooms had one full-sized bed in each. We had a teen and a single woman with us, so one had to sleep on the couch.

The Best!

We stayed here for a week and it could not have been better. I am from the area originally(a mile away). We were there for my mother's celebration of life and I wanted to feel at home and comfortable. This property exceeded our expectations. The house is fully stocked with linens, kitchen appliances, dishes etc. It is the perfect place to stay, in my opinion, if one were visiting the bay area for the first time. It is in close proximity to the SF Ferry building, hiking, wine tasting, markets, restaurants, etc. . It is truly central. The host is responsive and welcoming. We plan on returning! Laurel

Great vacation in Kentfield

We loved staying here. The interior décor is beautifully done in the French Provencal style. It was a delight to open the front door every time and drink in the colors and the light. The swimming pool, hot tub and deck were lovely and we spent many happy hours outside, talking and laughing and recharging. A daytrip to San Francisco was a breeze thanks to the Larkspur Ferry Terminal that's so close by. And driving out to Napa Valley was easy to do too. Don't forget to have a cappuccino at the Woodlands Market.

Gem in Kentfield

A very pleasant surprise in Kentfield. We wanted to stay in Marin and discovered this property in a very quiet walkable neighborhood. The house is very clean and well appointed with a charming French country home feel. It features a swimming pool which our family enjoyed during our hot summer stay and spent many hours just hanging out on the patio deck. We really appreciate Ozzie’s (home owner) responsiveness to our queries. We look forward to staying here on our next vacation.

Sweet Escape from the city

Ozzie’s place is incredible! We didn’t want to leave. We came for the Escape from Alcatraz triathlon (which I successfully escaped) but enjoyed a sweet escape from reality in this perfect cottage. The honeysuckle smell greeted us at the front of the house, making a great first impression. The house was the cleanest I have ever seen. Not a spec if dust and not a spot of dirt on the floors!! Well equipped home with all necessities and more. The decor was absolutely amazing (whimsical and a story throughout) kids enjoyed the pool…very clean! Adults enjoyed the hot tub…again, very clean! House situated in an upscale neighborhood, so we felt very safe. 10/10 would recommend this home!! Thanks Ozzie!!

Mom’s 100th Celebration

We returned to this VRBO to join together as a family to celebrate GG’s 100th!!! It felt like coming home again! Such a perfect location and everything was as we remembered it!!! Wish the hot tub had been functional but we empathize with trying to get parts with the supply chain issues and all…. The grandchildren wanted to stay longer and were sad to leave! What a great spot for a home base on our vacation. We only wish we had more down time in this lovely home.
