The house was very nice, clean and comfortable. The beds and towels were also clean. Now I will say that the smoke detector battery needs to be changed. It beeped all weekend and the spiderwebs were everywhere. The house just needs to be dusted .
Before you book you must fill out a 4 page doc usign. That document tells you that you have to pay for the use of the cedar tub, firewood, and more than one trash bag. That should be on the description. Also the massage chair you have to pay for as well. I wanted to add an extra night a week before we went and I quote she said “seriously I just did the paper work”. Cobwebs are everywhere, dust is everywhere and mold is in the shower bad. I wanted to show the photos to the homeowner since they are date and time stamped. I hope they get back with me. The cameras are creepy and the surveillance screen in the kitchen is a little much. The cabin is in a great location, it is beautiful land and outside is probably wonderful in the summer when it’s not all grown up with weeds. The cabin is gorgeous and the layout is nice. Kitchen was clean. Beds were nice.
The house had everything we needed. The host communicated great with us if we had questions, and also to let us know about an issue with the water heater that would need fixed on the day of our arrival, which worked out well. The location is the best part. We loved to sit on the front porch, or in the hammock we brought, to just enjoy the view and being outside. Enjoyed many walks and exploring by the lake.
This house is everything it says it is! The house is absolutely beautiful, the area is extremely quite and relaxing. The house is very well stock. My husband loves nature and he was obsessed with feeding the wildlife. Having the deer come right up to the deck was beautiful. I would highly rec!
Our family truly enjoyed our stay at the Lakefront. The surrounding resort has so much to offer we barely had to leave. There is a private beach on the lake and kayaks to rent. Plus stunning views, trails and intriguing wildlife.
The house is great as well. A large common area as well, as private spaces. The biggest key to me about the house was the kitchen. This was one of the most well stocked rental home kitchens I've stayed at. I felt so much at home preparing meals for my family!
Beautiful house by the lake. Very clean when we arrived. Everything you need is there. Communication with the owner was excellent. The best house around us that had the perfect access to the lake and paths. Beautiful colors in the trees. The security guards were very nice and we felt very safe. The houses around us were very quiet and friendly. We would love to book again next year.

We booked this property based on 2 main factors, beautiful home and lake access…neither disappointed! In addition to the spacious living area and clean design shown in the photos, this property is well appointed & organized with many little touches, (bird/deer feed, heated toilet seats/bidets, cooking spices, bug spray, puzzles, etc.) Our family of 4 adults was very comfortable here. The lake view from inside the large windows or from outside on the covered porch is great. I hesitated at first to book this property because there is no private dock for kayaking and there’s a road between the house and lake. Don’t let this deter you. The road is small & quiet and the drive to the public boat launch or beach is only 5 minutes. There’s a lake-loop hiking trail directly across the road which leads to many great spots for fishing or observation, including natural boulders and man-made benches. (I can’t believe this trail isn’t highlighted in the photos or mentioned by others - it’s one of the best amenities!) While staying here, we came to appreciate the lack of docks jutting from every property and the buildings being set-back from the shoreline. These restrictions and others help to conserve the pristine lake, natural beauty, and provide for a quiet, relaxed setting. I’m sure the time of year played a part (just after Labor Day) but we practically had the lake to ourselves. Responsive owner and friendly neighbors & community staff added to our stay.
We again had a great time at the Lakehouse. The pond was fun to watch and the atmosphere was so pleasant. Two suggestions. Provide portable fans and pan scrubbers in the kitchen. Thanks again for offering your lovely home.
We were looking for a quiet mountain getaway for our family (two adults with three kids aged 8, 7, 4 + grandparents), and we really could not have found a better place!
First the cabin: it's got a great open main living space with the exposed wood look to really make you feel like you're in a classic cabin. The owner has done an amazing job in fitting it with comfy furniture, everything one might need for a stay, everything is clearly labeled, and has extra touches that our kids enjoyed like a movie library, a little pond with fish and frogs, and even a little chipmunk toy that repeats sound in high-pitched voice--our 4 year old couldn't get enough of this thing. The kitchen and bathrooms are nicely updated even with bidets. The cabin is also great for working from home with fiber-optic internet and a couple of workstations.
The location: The cabin is right on the lake and I can't count the number of times we went to the lakeshore to just run around, skip rocks, and enjoy the beautiful vista especially around sunset over the woods across the lake. There are also trails along the lake and a small beach about a mile away, which, in addition to the main resort pool/fitness center, gave us plenty of options to enjoy our visit--which is something that isn't typically possible with mountain cabins.
Our kids are already clamoring to come back to this cabin--and we would absolutely love to return soon!
Thanks for allowing us to enjoy your home. We love Alpine Lake and have rented cabins there since we sold our in the early 2000's. The cabin is very spacious and nice. The view is breathtaking. Highly recommend.
Can’t wait to go back. Great get away for NYE weekend. I’m not sure why some of the bad reviews are there because- yes there’s going to be some dog hair when the property allows dogs (which we love) and clearly if you’re in the middle of the woods on a lake there is going to be wildlife and yes, you may spot a mouse. Was great in the winter so spring will also be great. Close to Deep Creek, but also secluded and quiet.
Beautiful warm and cozy cabin , great location, well stocked kitchen, firewood, comfortable beds. Well maintained spacious. Great owner communication. Great place to stay.
A couple of my girlfriends and I booked this as a last minute trip. It was so easy to book and the house is such a nice atmosphere. The host is very accommodating, loved it here!

Liked: Check-in, communication, location
Disliked: Cleanliness
Potential but needs a deep clean!
The property is nicely laid out, however, the amount of cobwebs hanging from the light fixtures and ceilings was not acceptable. The mold in the bathrooms was gross. I wouldn’t even shower in the master bath with the black mold inside and outside of the shower. The house really needs some TLC in these areas. When I first used the washer the smell was terrible and most likely the tub needs to be cleaned. On our last night in the home there was a mouse running across the floor and ran under the bed. We never found it! Needless to say I did not sleep much! The owner was quick to respond and very apologetic. It
This house has a stunning view of the lake. We loved being able to walk over and fish so easily plus took our small boat. The house is well organized and had everything we needed. The beds were comfy.
The house was beautiful with a lovely view, it had a modern rustic style, special amenities, it was well equipped and beds and furniture were comfortable. Our family came for a wedding Memorial weekend. The kitchen was big and we enjoyed cooking and sitting by the indoor fire pit and catching up with our family members. On a low note, we all can appreciate ring cameras but the surveillance outside seemed piercing. My daughter and I had an eerie feeling we we’re always being watched and this was unsettling to us. I cannot give five stars because of this, and I am still upset over a problem we had. I personally wrote Lakeside about a situation instead of putting my comment on social media. I’m angry that it has been three days and I’ve heard nothing from them regarding the my note. Overall though, people will enjoy their stay at this property. I believe the problem we had may have been because of the cameras — it sees who you are….
