Quiet and Isolated and Far

Loved this location since it was quiet and not near the tourist areas. But definitely need 4-wheel drive and patience to drive there. The path walking down to the beach epic. Luna the dog will become your kids' best friend. And Wi-fi generally much better than expected, though there were two nights of completely no service.

Best Christmas ever!

Can’t express how perfect this villa is for a wonderful vacation! It is a remote area and difficult to reach, but also not a tourist attraction. The beach is pristine. Necessary amenities are within a reasonable distance and the house is gorgeous and comfortable for our family of seven. We loved cooking and making Christmas dinner in the lovely kitchen and dining room. Miguel and his dog Luna were prompt to help with all our questions and keeping the pool and grounds and house maintenance pristine! Thank you Jeffrey! This will always be a cherished memory for our family! Pura Vida! Bonnie

Surf, Sunset and Secluded

This home is a beautiful destination if you'd like a quiet, secluded, r n r holiday. The view overlooking the pool and ocean is spectacular and the sunsets are absolutely amazing each evening. The lay out of three separate bedrooms with ensuites suited our family perfectly. The area is so safe, you can walk alone for hours on the beach. It was so nice to have Miguel on site, taking care of the pool and grounds and Luna, the dog was a nice addition to the place as well. It is quite the drive to get from Liberia airport to this remote location so book a 4 X 4 and be ready for twists and turns, navigating a few streams along gravel roads. The owner, Jeffry was prompt in answering any questions we had while there and the WIFI worked fine. We also appreciated all the restaurant options Jeffry suggested with El Barco, a walk down the beach, as our favourite.

The property and house was more than we expected. Great location and a FANTASTIC VIEW

This rental checked all of the boxes for us. Quiet, secluded, but close enough to what we were looking for (IE. a nice beach, a few good restaurants, and a decent grocery store nearby). In addition, the house was better equipped than most vacation rentals we've had in the past. On.near the property we saw iguanas, monkeys, rays, and many colourful birds. The sounds alone (of the nearby surf, the local birds, or the howler monkeys) was worth the price of admission. Miguel was a fantastic property mgr. who took great care of the home/pool, and us. Luna made us laugh everyday! 3 couples in the 60ish age range had a ball. We would recommend this rental to anyone with similar interests!

Spectacular!

Our first impression upon arrival were the online photos did not do justice to the spectacular view when you’re there in person. The home was spacious, clean and comfortable, the beach is over 6 miles long and peaceful and the ocean is incredibly beautiful. Miguel was very friendly and accommodating and Luna the dog became our new best friend, which made it even more difficult to leave after two wonderful weeks.

A beautiful house with breathtaking views

The house is beautiful with authentic touches. The bedrooms are large and private. The family area is very spacious and furnished very nicely. The property is very well maintained and isolated, you won't see your neighbors. The beach is only few steps down the hill and it also feels private and is clean. Our kids used the pool a lot and my husband and I enjoyed the outdoor sitting and the gorgeous view of the ocean. The hammocks were a major hit. Jeff, the property owner, was amazing with answering our questions and providing information on the area, things to do, and places to eat. We truly enjoyed the property. It felt like home.

Nothing Short of Amazing

Let me start with are arrival time at 11pm. We walked into a beautiful home that we couldn't have imagined. Then woke up to a view that was priceless. From sun rises to sun sets, this was the best place in the entire beach to be. The house was well equipped for many great meals. Now let's talk about Luna. Such a sweet dog, made me feel like I was truly home. She went to the beach with us and even dinner. She might have even cuddled up in bed with us for a night. The only reason I have accuracy of listing is the photos. Please note they do this property no justice at all. It's 10 times better than you can even imagine. Please do yourself a treat and relax at this property.

Great Stay - Amazing property - Private beach - Although NOT suitable for remote work!

Everything was completely amazing! The host is nice, miguel and it's dog are really sweet and it was a perfect spot for vacations and have a relaxing time! Although be aware that it is not possible to work from there the wifi doesn't work and there is not strong wifi enough to make virtual calls in the restaurant nearby!

Absolute paradise

We spent a week at Playa Coyote with our 3 kids ages 14, 12 & 10. The villa is situated on a hilltop overlooking the ocean with the most incredible sunsets we've ever seen. Getting there is a bit challenging with mostly winding gravel roads but our vehicle had no problems (recommend a 4X4, we were there in dry season, can only imagine it's more difficult in rainy season?). Miguel, the caretaker, and his friendly dog Luna welcomed us and took great care of us (tears were shed saying goodbye to Luna). Villa was clean with well-stocked kitchen (spices, oil, adequate cooking utensils, paper towels etc). I'd recommend arriving with your groceries as the local communities only have small grocery stores. Despite no air conditioning the open ocean breeze kept the villa very comfortable and we likely wouldn't have used A/C if it was available. The pool and outdoor areas are incredible. A great way to cool off and the pool is a good size - enough for some fun games with the kids. Suggest to bring some floaties for the pool. The "hammock hut" was well used by each of us. The ocean is fun and safe - no worrisome riptides for us and great for boogie boarding. Can rent boogie boards and surf boards at El Barco. The wifi didn't work for us which made things a bit tricky as our kids were doing on-line school. Download shows and e-books ahead of time and you won't be disappointed. Jeff was quick to respond to my emails and was apologetic about the Wi-Fi. Being "unplugged" had its perks as well. Local restaurants we loved: Pizza Tree in Javilla, El Barco (nice walk down the beach, good food and prizes) and Loma Clara (in San Francisco, good food and prizes as well). All in all we adored our stay and would love to stay here again in the future. We made great memories here and are so thankful.

The property is simply spectacular with 360° views. Very spacious confortable house. Very enjoyable amenities, the pool is big and there is a nice place beside with “hamacas” for relaxing. Very relaxed vibe. The beach is just an easy little hike down the hill within the property. The ocean has nice calm waves perfect for kids, and the beach is extense and still virgin. Nice rural area.

Very Nice Beach Location

Beautiful view! Very short and fun little walk up and down the winding path from the house to the beach. Long, wide beach for beach walks and shell hunting. Big waves at times but always "swimmable" with a long, shallow, all sand bottom. Great for boogie boarding and for little kids to splash around in the shallow surf when the tide is out. Very clean beach compared to a lot of beaches these days. There is a small group of lava rocks in the water right in front of the house that our kids loved climbing on and exploring the tides pools it created. The house was perfect for our family of 4 with two teenagers. The infinity pool overlooking the ocean is stunning. There are lots of outdoor seating and lounging options: hammocks, couches, chairs, lounges, with shaded and sunny areas so everyone was happy as we enjoyed the pool and view of the Pacific. Bring some cheap and easily packed inflatable floats, some good "beach reads", or download (before your trip) books, movies, music/blue tooth speaker, and games (not cloud-based but ones that can be saved on a device) if you or your kids enjoy technology to pass the time. We saw at least 15 or 20 different kinds of tropical birds and animals just sitting by the pool or walking on the beach - parrots and other birds, lizards, iguanas, crabs and snails, little fish in the tide pools. If you or your kids like nature watching, it's all around you. The house caretaker Miguel is very nice, and his dog Luna is a cheerful greeter. She's the perfect little guard dog, patrolling the yard and making sure the iguanas know their place! We will miss her!! Within "easy" walking or driving distance, there are a handful of very good local restaurants: we loved El Barco, Loma Clara, Ristaurante San Miquel and heard that the Pizza Tree House and Tanga are good too. The Jungle Butterfly Farm tour is not to be missed if you want to learn about the local forest ecosystem and buy some super pure coconut oil and honey products. We drove to the slightly more touristy beach town area of Samara for a nice day trip. Driving the Costa Rican rural roads is an adventure and a good quality 4 wheel drive car or truck is a must. There are no medium or large hotels/resorts in this part of the Nicoya Peninsula, and you get to experience a more "real" Costa Rican rural area and lifestyle. We love this kind of vacation experience so it was great location for us. Would love to return some day!!

Breathtaking house by the ocean

Although the drive to get there was an interesting adventure crossing a couple of small streams the view, the location, the dog Luna, and Miguel the caretaker absolutely made up for. This is one of the best ocean views I have ever seen. The sunsets take your breath away while you are sitting poolside. Our kids loved the dog luna and Miguel was ever so helpful. We saw howler monkeys not too far down the road and get up early in the morning for the spectacular birds singing in the morning. The place was clean and all the essentials were right there including cooking utensils, spices, foil and whatever else we needed. The owner Jeff was very helpful and responded quickly to our questions. The beach was beautiful and for the most part uninhabited meaning our kids could run forever. As for swimming the beach is perfect sand but we stayed relatively shallow and jump in the waves as there is a bit of a riptide. I would definitely recommend the property.

Serene paradise

This house is located in a very remote part of Guanacaste. With that you have access to a spacious house with the pool and deck overlooking the most spectacular view that no picture can do it justice. So much to say. We travelled during the pandemic and we wanted remote. Well this house is very remote. So if you're looking for action this is not your house. The house itself is very well laid out with big spacious bedrooms that each have their own bathroom. Loads of windows and fans that usher in ocean breezes. A/C isn't even needed. Kitchen is big with everything you need in it. But its the outdoor space that really makes this home such a fantastic property. Huge private pool with large deck and hammocks and again...that view! Short walk down to beach. I've seen beaches in different parts of the world...from Hawaii to Greece, but this one is everything. It's probably about 5 miles from one end to the other. I'm a runner and this was a runner's paradise of a beach. Flat, black sand with hardly a soul on it! The water is warm and brings great waves for boogie boarding. Kids loved it. It was truly beautiful and the sun sets right over the deck. Amazing. The owner Jeff, is really obliging and so helpful with information about the area and got back to me quickly with any questions I had. Miguel who is the caretaker of the house and lives on the property is so great. However, it helps to know some spanish as he doesn't speak English. We had spanish speakers with us and he proved to be very helpful and was out daily cleaning the pool and decks. We loved Luna our "vacation dog" who followed us to play on the beach. Adorable. The downside? As I said this is a remote location. It's over an hour of dirt roads to get into the area (hint: 4 wheel drive). Not much in terms of restaurants or shopping but the few restaurants we went to were fantastic. Best fish I've ever had at El Barco just a short walk away. The grocery store is about a 15 minute drive and we found what we needed there and prices were very reasonable. Visit the little bakery across the road for some fresh focaccia! Delish. And ice cream there was also very good. There is a woman in town there that sells gas from private home in case you need that. Otherwise no gas stations anywhere in the area. Last recommendation from me would be to avoid flying to San Jose and instead use Liberia. Its a long haul from San Jose! All in all, I highly recommend this property if you want to get away from it all!

Best spot to date!

This is our second visit to Costa Rica and this time we stayed just over two weeks. Our family agreed that this is our favorite house so far! The incredible views and the short walk to an incredible beach was just what the Doctor ordered. We felt like we owned the beach; for such a beautiful sandy beach with no garbage or rocks it was a very odd occurrence to run into anyone. We weren't sure we wanted to leave a review as it would be a shame if it got busier and full of tourists. The hammocks were a great place to nap or read and the pool was always clean and a perfect temperature day and night. We were lucky enough to be there for the "Snow Moon" and the night sky lit up the beach and the ocean. Miguel was such a nice man and ensured we were well taken care of. He quickly came and helped us with the coconuts so we could drink and eat them. We all loved his dog Luna who joined us for many walks and runs on the beach. One night she protected us from a Raccoon and we brought her in to protect her ;0) Communication with the owner was great and he always answered with a very quick response. Much appreciated Jeff!! The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed to cook our meals. We did have a slight problem with sugar ants but I think that is to be expected and nothing a wet cloth and a bit of bleach couldn't fix! The mini súper (grocery store) in town had all the basic necessities. Make sure you prepare ahead when you are arriving as the grocery stores are not very close but it is well worth the "isolation". We 100% recommend this house and beach area and would love to come back!
