Beautiful beach location, stunning house, wonderful wildlife and great restaurants, heaven!!

We thoroughly enjoyed staying in this amazing house on Anna Maria Island, it is in a perfect location and so beautiful and well kept. The beaches are stunning and so quiet and the whole character of the island is fabulous. So many nice restaurants and quirky gift shops and everyone is so friendly. Kids loved cycling around on bikes and riding on the golf buggy which is a common mode of transport. We saw so much wildlife, birds, fish, dolphins, turtles, tortoises and had a great boat trip where we did some snorkelling, we will definitely be back!!!

Beautifully Styled in a Stunning Location

We loved our stay at Halcyon House. It is positioned on the best beach area of the island near Bean Point where it is much quieter but only a 15 minute beach walk down to the Sandbar restaurant. Decor and terraces make it a pleasure to relax in and there is everything you need to have fun on the beach which is just a 1 minute stroll through the dunes out back... no shoes required! Highly recommended.

Family Memories

Our family loved our stay in this sweet costal cottage! The home was so inviting, warm and comfortable! We had front row seats to the most AMAZING sunsets EVERY evening! The weather was not as warm and friendly as we had hoped but being right on the beach gave us every opportunity to grab some beach time whenever possible! We would love to stay here again and highly recommend this coastal cottage to all beach lovers!!

A Beautiful Winter Respite

I'm a "regular" at Halcyon House--eight Februarys and looking forward to returning next year. All five-star ratings are well deserved. The house is meticulously maintained and the view from the porches is spectacular in all types of weather. Comfortable. Comfortable. Comfortable.

Perfect Paradise

The property is nicely located near Bean Point and Pine Street on the north end of the island. The gorgeous views of the Gulf are unobstructed and plenty of balcony access to enjoy them all day long. The living space is well placed and functional for many people. Public beach access is adjacent, which wasn't too intrusive. Just a few issues with people using the driveway to unload and load for their beach day. The amenities were well stocked-found everything we needed. Can’t wait to come back.

As good as it gets

Halcyon was as good as advertised. By far the best vrbo we have rented. Bean point is special if u want to avoid resorts. Only disappointing part of the week was a meal at Sandbar. AMI is outstanding choice for vacation!

Wonderful home in a perfect location

Was a perfect place for a large family. Adjacent to the beach with a 3-minute walk to the water. Less than 15 minutes to Bean point. The property was clean and spacious with a nice “beachy” vibe. Appliances were new and easy to use, with lots of beach accessories available for use that were stored in the garage. We are already looking at coming back next year.

Halcyon Lives Up To Its Name

The word Halcyon means denoting a period of time in the past that was idyllically happy and peaceful. This is how we felt the entire time we were at this property. The views of the Gulf of Mexico were stunning. The property is well maintained, clean, and the property manager was friendly and accommodating. This was our first stay at this property, but hopefully it wont be our last. There is nothing I could change about this property to make it any better. The layout of the home was perfect for entertaining our guests. This is the perfect beach getaway. We highly recommend staying at this property with friends and family.

Perfect location and beautiful house

We loved our entire stay and hope to stay again. House is very clean, well appointed, and perfectly situated. The manager is accommodating and responsive. Other reviewers discussed the downstairs twin beds - my teen daughter slept there and loved the room and space. It is nice for teens to be down there and have their own little suite.

Pros and Cons

Of course this house is absolutely beautiful, functional and if you want a great beach vacation this is the place. All the previous reviews expressed are true. However when I search for houses there is a few things I really want to know. Beds- all were good except the bunk beds were torture chambers. Not enough blankets. Pillows were nice. The house looked clean but was neglected. I found hair in 2/3 of the shower drains. Gross. I found a very old grape (I think) in the kitchen on the floor. Banisters were dirty/sticky. There were no cleaning products to use myself. Water pressure was great. Immediately upon arrival @4 I found what I thought was a roach on the floor in the kitchen, the host returned my response to the “palmetto bug” two hours later. However after that message all texts/calls were answered promptly. We could not adjust the a/c in the house. The walk to the beach was not as far as it looked online. All the umbrellas for the beach were broken and once we figured out how to set up the camping tent that was a life saver. There is a walking path to the beach directly next to the house. That was a surprise! It took a few days to get used to seeing people walk so closely to the windows. It sounded like they were in the house if the slider was open. But if your used to neighbors I’m sure you wouldnt mind this as much. The weekends are much busier but minimal garbage on the beach! Wildlife was great! Close to shops and ice cream!

Excellent getaway!

This was our first trip to AMI. We had such a lovely vacation and the best part was staying at this beautiful property. Kelly, the homeowner, is incredibly nice, responsive and accommodating! The property was clean, beautiful and exactly as the pictures and descriptions online depict. The house was very well stocked with everything we needed! We loved being so close to the beach! We will definitely be reaching back out to book a stay at this home in the very near future!

A Magical Place

This year was my seventh at Halcyon House, staying four weeks each time. Clearly I love the place! Kelly is always on hand to quickly answer any questions, and she even anticipates issues that could impact her guests (e.g. sending a text re a bridge closure on my day of departure). The house is well equipped and totally comfortable, and the neighborhood is quiet day and night. I haven’t arrived home yet, but I’m already looking forward to my next visit.

I first sunk my toes into the soft AMI sand in 2013 and immediately knew this is where I was meant to be. The following year, I purchased my beach house overlooking the Gulf on beautiful Bean Point (Halcyon House.) While I enjoy making memories at my house with family and friends, it also brings be great joy opening it up to others to enjoy. In 2019 I decided to make the island my permanent home.

Why they chose this property

My house is on the desirable north end of the 7 mile island within walking distance of Anna Maria's unique shops and numerous restaurants. It is a quiet, residential area on what I believe is the most beautiful beach in the world.
