Enjoy your stay in Thermopolis at this newer construction, 3 bedroom 2 bath home. The Big Horn river is one of the best fisheries in the state, and you have access to it right outside your doors. On any given morning it is the norm to see pheasants or deer walking by, along with many different species of waterfowl enjoying the waters of the river. Easy access to the town of Thermopolis, which offers a world class dinosaur museum, and two commercial swimming pools where you can enjoy the water from the natural mineral hot springs. Boysen reservoir is 30min away, while the scenic town of Cody, and Yellowstone Park are within a 2 hour drive. The Riverview Guesthouse is great if you are in town to fish, hunt, explore the local area, or for a base while making day trips. We do not have a TV with DVD player and HD antenna for local channels. Our intent with this guesthouse is to help people engage more with each other and their surroundings, while getting away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The location is ideal to enjoy a variety of outdoor activities, and board games are provided if weather keeps you indoors. The trout fishing along this stretch of the river is very good with both public and private access to the river. This location allows nearly 6,000 feet of public fishing access along the river bank downstream from the house, and almost 2,000 feet of private river access upstream. We do have kayaks available on request, along with tour opportunities in Thermopolis and the surrounding area.

The house is perfect, it has all the amenities one would require. Everything in the house worked , it is very spacious, clean , comfortable, and best of all besides the location it is quiet. Great location to see millions of stars. Out of all the VRBO’S We have stayed this is the best.
Beautiful, cozy, relaxing home in a very quiet area with gorgeous views and a fire pit that you can gather around at night and watch the sunsets….Small town feel and most of the people were very personable and friendly. Enjoyed all the museums and Hot Springs also Yellowstone National Park. Would recommend this to all!😊🙏❤️
Beautiful location on the river about 10 minutes north of Thermopolis. House is awesome for a visit to nearby family. Space for the kids to run and play. So much better than a hotel!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay for the weekend! The beds are all very comfortable and the house had all the amenities we needed to cook for our family. I particularly enjoyed bird watching on the river while sipping my morning coffee. Sherman was communicative and helpful. Definitely want to come again!
Everything was great; owner communication, access, cleanliness. The only surprise was that we expected easier access to the river according to the description. We brought kayaks but could not launch easily from the property.

Great house, great location
House was base camp for hunting trip. More then enough room for four guys to sleep, cook, and hang out. Close enough to town, but not too close. Very well stocked with everything we needed. Communication with owner was quick and helpful. Views of the river and sunsets were beautiful. Would definitely recommend and plan on staying here again.

This is a magical property. The house itself is adorable and very homey with all the necessities to do anything you need. What we love the most was the landscape around it and we went for a walk and we enjoyed eating dinner by the fire and sitting by the river. We will come back for sure and Sherman was the greatest host.
Spacy and comfortable house located just next to the Big Horn River. Ideal for taking some time off from the daily trouble. Be aware that mobile internet may be unreliable - major providers are in the region but the place seems to be just at the edge of their range. No in-house Wifi.
Wish we would have stayed longer. House was fine on all levels. Could not enjoy the outdoors in the evening due to mosquitos the worse I have ever seen, not the houses fault for that. I do wish the house had wifi. After a long day of fishing is nice to sit back and enjoy a football game or such after dark to wind down.
My cousin and I surely enjoyed our stay at the Riverside Guesthouse! The house is clean, quant and relaxing with perks such as kayaks, corn hole, and fishing. Sherman was very helpful and accommodating. Highly recommended and will be repeat customers in the future!
A clean, quite relaxing cabin with excellent views! Cabin came with all the amenities necessary! Everyone loved the river and fishing! Kids loved the kids cave!

About the host
Hosted by Sherman Skelton
Growing up my family ranched in the area, and we farmed on the hay fields around the vacation property. I am very familiar with the area and am more than happy to give any input on additional things to do or see during your stay in Thermopolis.
Why they chose this property
My great grandparents farm house was right across the road from the vacation property. I am the fourth generation to own this property, and had always dreamt of building something near the river. It was a dream come true when I broke ground on "the cabin" in the spring of 2013. The project was made even more rewarding by the fact that I was able to build the house with the help of my father, and under the watchful eyes of my 2 year old son. I truly wanted this to be a multi generational project. I worked 4 days a week in Casper, and then drove to Thermopolis and worked on the house every Fri-Sun for the next two years. There are still some projects to to on the property, but we have really enjoyed sharing our place with people from around the country.
