Stayed here while other family members stayed right next door at La Jolla Motel. House & property are beautiful & very peaceful. We were able to host brunch for the entire group. Great place for family & friends to gather and relax.
The four-bedroom house lived up to everything we hoped for. Spacious, clean, beautiful view of the gulf, resort amenities like paddle boards, kayaks, and fishing equipment. We would stay again in a heartbeat!

Be very careful about the condition of this property
The kitchen, living room and outdoor patio as well as view are fabulous. All of that is meaningless if the plumbing doesn't work. Master toilet was broken for over a month before we arrived. 2nd toilet required multiple flushes and sink backed up. The sad part is that ownership offered a toilet in a room on the other side of the development and then a small financial token OR we could vacate for free. My family vacation was negatively impacted by this and with four girls, one working toilet was unacceptable. I think the saddest part was that this has been an ongoing issue and I'm sure the poor folks that checked in after us got the same song and dance. The owner was condescending and disrespectful to my priorities and undervalued the efforts put in by his onsite staff.
The Bahia house in La Jolla Resort was such the perfect place to enjoy spring break with the family! Our boys (age range 3-12) loved exploring in the bay and fishing out on the rock jetty. The house fit us perfectly and had everything we needed: a large kitchen and the most adorable back porch with a gas grill. The sunsets were an added bonus! We will definitely be staying again!
This house is just beautiful. Right on the water in the water in your own corner of the resort. The house has a relaxing and open interior. Plenty of parking for your cars. The staff was amazing. The photos really don't do it justice!
We had a great time. Property is managed by resort next door and all the staff were accommodating.
Had a wonderful time. House met all our needs and the staff of the resort next door that manages the property were very nice. We had access to kayaks, paddle boards, and snorkeling equipment at no extra cost.
We just left the larger guesthouse at the La Jolla resort. My husband and I stayed with 2 other couples, our friends from college, for 3 nights. We could not be more pleased with our stay!! All of the staff was super friendly and helpful. The resort is very small and pretty private. Our fave thing to do was just to hang on our back porch and look out at the ocean and talk and laugh the night away! We also loved all of the iguanas and squirrels (seriously - they’re adorable) and the free kayaks and paddle board.
A total unexpected gem was the Islamorada Distillery and Brewery directly across the street. The drinks and atmosphere were amazing - the beer garden out back was darling. Try the frozen key lime pie cocktail! Best drinks we had during our entire trip, including drinks at other restaurants and in Key West.
We did a day trip into Key West which was less than 2 hours away. That was the perfect amount of time, as we realized we enjoyed the more laid-back atmosphere of Islamodora. We stopped off at Porky’s for dinner on the way back which broke up the drive well.
Overalll, highly recommend La Jolla!!
Property location, view and large back porch were fantastic. House was very spacious and kitchen was well appointed. The beds and the porch furniture were very uncomfortable.
This is got to be our Best stay here in Islamorda. This place is like a fairytale. From the view ( Beautiful Sunsets)to the gutair player on the Beach! The supplied everything you could need for your stay. It was spacious and very clean. The office was very pleasant and responded to all our qustions before arriving. Really this is the spot.
We loved the view from the beautiful porch on this house! It’s right on the water! The main living area, kitchen and master bedroom were amazing! The other three bedrooms need new beds! My son and daughter-in-law were extremely uncomfortable. I’ve been looking for a house to rent every year. This would be it if they replaced the beds in the guest rooms. I loved it here and had my coffee on the porch every morning! 🌊☀️🌴
This property was ideal for our group of 16 friends/family for New Years. We rented both houses and then others rented rooms at the motel. To have the entire property as our yard was perfect. We made meals at the houses, grilled on the decks, sat around the firepits at night, watched the sea life from the pier, swam in the ocean using the provided water sport equipment - kayaks, inflatables, etc. and explored the Islamorada area. It was a perfect trip. Thank you La Jolla for a great time! I highly recommend them.
We truly enjoyed our stay at La Jolla. The house was perfect and the view from the enormous covered porch was amazing for my morning coffee. I would highly recommend!
This place was amazing! The common areas and master bedroom and bathroom were so large and spacious, which made staying with a group very comfortable. The views were beautiful and was nice the resort had boat docks and kayaks/paddleboards to rent. The only thing we were slightly disappointed about was the pool. It was on the smaller size and closer to the main road rather than the pretty view of the water. Other than that this was definitely a great place that we will hopefully be able to visit again.
Pros:
Property was nice, clean, and a great place to stay while visiting Islamorada.
Great view.
Really cool wildlife, we fed some squirrels from our hands off the porch and saw a bunch of Iguanas.
Great location, close to all the attractions we visited.
Complimentary kayaks were a bonus, all four of us were able to use those.
Cons:
Bedrooms were small (except the master). - Wasn't a big deal for us as we barely spent any time in the bedrooms.
Beach is not private - I felt the listing was a little misleading, as the house is private but the yard and beach area is part of the surrounding resort. Not a big deal at all, just a little misleading.
Overall, definitely a good place to stay for the money.
The cottage was awesome. The views are perfect. Sunsets are unbelievable and the people are very friendly. Lots of fish around for snorkeling. The pool is quaint but refreshing. And the squirrels are super friendly so bring them peanuts and they will eat out of your hand. We will definitely be back.
This is a great house with a wonderful location on the bay.
We enjoyed this house very much. My issues were small but for the money you need to expect a bare minimum kitchen set up. Few pans, limited knives for food prep and limited serving bowls or plates. If you eat every meal out - no issues. Also bring WD40 for squeaky doors and sticky locks.
A plus was a great patio but the benches and 3 chairs are very uncomfortable. The benches need cushions but the views from it are great and the water life off the pier was mesmerizing. We had a great time there and it was a wonderful base for the family. I’d definitely go back if I can afford it again.
We did enjoy our stay at La Jolla Bahia, however there is a reason they have so few photos online. The common space, master bedroom and porch are amazing, but the back bedrooms and bathroom are small. The second bathroom needs major updating.
The kitchen only has the essentials, and beach towels are not included. However, property management was great in supplying extra bath towels and other supplies upon request! The beach area was lovely and being able to rent kayaks was an added bonus.
Overall we had a great time, but if you rent this place, do not expect luxury.
Because of Covid, do not expect the kitchen to be stocked with anything but dishes and utensils. No cleaning supplies. Other than that, we had a great experince. Staff was super helpful and responsive.
