Exclusive villa opposite Akureyri

This exclusive villa is very well situated just opposite Akureyri. It is rented by celebrities but also by other people who enjoy the location and the high standard of the house. It was built by the Icelandic architect Fanney Hauksdottir in 2006. It was recently refurbished with high-quality equipment such as ReVoX audio equipment as well as with attractive materials such as walnut, shale and glass.

The house is surrounded by a 16'000 m2 garden and a security fence. An alarm system and cameras ensure safety for the guests. Any kind of additional service is available on request.

During winter snow drifts may block road access to the house. The road to our fence and the driveway is not maintained during winter time. In this case a short walk (400 meters) is necessary. So good we visited again.

This was our second visit to this house; we liked it so much when we visited in summer that we thought we’d see what it was like in winter. Once again, we had a fantastic relaxing stay and made the most of the facilities in the house, the views from the living room and Akureyri. The accommodation is of a very high standard with lots of space and it is kept spotlessly clean. A lot of overnight snow on our final night required a little digging to get the car out and back onto the road. We’re not used to these kinds of conditions, which added to the whole experience so we a third visit is now on our future plans.

The house is amazing. The views it offers are superb. We spent a week admiring the view up, down and across the fjord to Akureyri. The hot tup and steam room were great. The garden is huge and i winter is good for sledding.

I love this place

The title says it all. Akureyri is a lovely town nestled in the mountains and the view from this house across the fjord is truely amazing. The location is perfect as youre not too far from the town where there is a great selection of restaurants, and you are centrally located to easily access the great North Iceland. Already looking to book a rdturn trip.

We were a family of four adults that enjoyed a fabulous 4 days in the villa .Hot bath and steam room efficient and enjoyable.The overall large layout gave a luxurious feel with panoramic views .Relaxing and quiet location .

WOW. Dreams are made of this.

This is what the house of my dreams would be. The views overlooking Akureyri and the Eyjafjörður fjord are truly amazing and when you throw in the Northern Lights it made the perfect week. This is a really modern home and is only 10 minutes from the great restaurants and ice-cream in Akureyri. Thanks Thomas we will be back soon.

Heavenly location, heavenly view.

We had a fantastic 5 night stay in Thomas’ house in Akureyri. Communication was excellent with him before and during our trip, our self check-in was straight forward. The house itself is beautiful, filled with light, contemporary comfortable furniture and the views across the water and to Akureyri were incredible. The bed was so comfortable, best sleep for a long time! We were a bit unlucky with the weather, it was cold and rained most days but we got some little glimpses of the mountains behind the town and down to the valley. The house is pretty well equipped with lots of kitchen / cooking equipment as well as washing machine/dryer downstairs. Hot tub outside and a sauna too. When we’ve stayed in similar style and quality of houses there have been welcome packs of the basics (milk, bread, water, butter) and it would have been nice to have had this here. Same goes for shampoo, shower gel and the like (owners often have wall dispensers of these in the bathroom), so again these would have been a nice touch. We had a bit of an issue with the master bathroom shower not draining very well but figured out how to deal with it. But these are tiny little issues, they certainly wouldn’t stop us visiting again. We loved our time in this house and can’t wait to come back - hopefully when the weather is a bit kinder. But this is a must stay if you are in this beautiful part of Iceland.

Great hosts. Wonderful house as others say the pictures don't do it justice. It's slightly out of Akuryrri only 10 mins in a car which is a great compromise between town and country. There's not a huge amount to do in the vacinity, we stayed 10 days and only went out maybe half the time. The rest we enjoyed on the house.

A stunning property in an equally stunning setting.

We had a great four days in Akureyri and coming home to this place was a highlight. Our arrival was easy with just a phone call ahead and the house was warm and ready for us, the photo's do not really reflect how nice the house is. The hot tub was a great place to relax in the evening and the music system is superb. Our only negativity was that it would have been nice to have a few essentials such as a basic food pack and toiletries to make it more homely.

Awe Inspiring

To say that this house is one of the best in Iceland is to significantly undersell it: it is one of the best houses in Europe. We spent a week there, and felt that we were living in the lair of a particularly charismatic Bond villain. Everything is to the highest possible spec; the views are beyond astonishing; and Akureyri itself a delight. If you are ever in any doubt as to whether Northern Iceland, and particularly this house, has anything to offer, cast them aside. We holiday regularly, are nearly fifty and our week here is the best holiday we have ever had. My only regret, as it is quite the most romantic place in the world, was that we took the kids along(!).

Another Wonderful Stay

We just finished 6 nights at Hrafnabjorg. This was our second stay at this particular home. Everything was clean, the kitchen was well-stocked, it was fun to have a hot tub to relax in each night and the views of the fjord and Akureyri are spectacular. We were 3 adults & 2 kids. Amazing property!!!!

If you are on the fence about booking this property or think that it is fake or too good to be true you are wrong. It is absolutely fantastic!!! One of the best places we’ve stayed in our travels. The views are epic, especially if you are there in the winter and see the northern lights from the windows or the hot tub. It is quiet, private, great location to Akrueyri, the diamond circle, Húsavík and so many other places in the north. We loved the heated floors, the hot tub, the steam room, the automatic window shades, the tub, just everything about the house is top notch. So, book it now :)
