Property was listed as 16 miles from mammoth cave park Would be vital to add that it is actually 42 minutes We had additional family in cave city, which was a haul for them with their young children Both grills are unusable We loved the room and outside areaDinosaur World was fun for the kids Lost river cave was worth the trip as well as Kentucky down under
The house was very nice. Everything we needed was there for us. We all had plenty of room.
We spent each night at the fire pit. Great time was had by all of us!

Very quiet steep driveway if your going to stay there with family or friends I would stay in the upstairs
Family from 3 states came together to visit and see Mammoth Cave and Nashville. The house was very comfortable and located a short walk from trails and the water in Nolan State park. It’s located away from everything and very quiet, but also a fairly quick drive to stores and food. We enjoyed our time there very much! We especially enjoyed watching the rabbits and deer eat breakfast every morning from the large porch!!
Our family came from PA, TN & VA to visit Mammoth Cave NP and visit with each other. Besides the NP we were anxious to spend time at nearby Nolin Lake - the weather did not cooperate. It was either 95 degrees with high humidity or thunder storming so we didn't swim, hike or rent a boat as we had hoped. We were happy to have such a nice property to "hang out" in though. (We did get enough dry time to grill our burgers and dogs.)
The house was nice having 2 separate living spaces. Loved the screened in porch on the back. Both refrigerators having ice makers was a blessing. Gas grill works but needs upgraded grates. Could add a place to park between the road and fire pit for boats. Small cars will have a hard time getting up driveway with the gravel. Great location and close to the boat ramp and beach within walking distance. A 4 min boat ride to the Moutardier Marina from the boat ramp.
The rental is a duplex with a 2-1 unit on each floor. The upstairs unit is bigger and has better finishes, and the upstairs has a screened in patio. Spacious enough for a large family. Very clean. Well-stocked kitchen. Getting to the upstairs unit requires climbing stairs. Host is a bit slow to respond to messages. A long walk or short drive to the beach. We would definitely stay here again if we wanted to visit Nolin Lake.
We stayed there to visit the mammoth cave national park, but were pleasantly surprised to be so close to a Kentucky State park (Nolan lake). Overall the inside was pretty clean and it had 2 kitchens if we had need them, would’ve been nice.
Pros: really close to Mammoth Cave NP, good price, we were able to take the ferry across to the park (which I didn’t know about beforehand) , spacious for 8 people and had a good size yard for the kids to play in, and a campfire area.
Cons: driveway was at a pretty steep slope, as well as the yard, back deck was a little dusty.
Overall, the 8 people (5 adults and 3 children we had with us) fit pretty comfortably in the 4 rooms. We had a good time there.
Prior to arriving, the host messaged me with details on getting into the home as well as good places to eat and visit, and where to obtain firewood. Spacious campfire area with seating already available. Home was spacious and clean with all linens provided. I do wish I had researched more prior because it is a dry county, so we had to drive about 40 mins one way to get adult beverages, but also had to get groceries, and there was a grocery store there, so it worked out. Also wish I had requested extra linens. There was one towel and wash rag for each of the 8 of us for 2 nights. Would stay here, again, if in the area.
The property was very nice and clean. I was a little misled with location information. We were looking for something close to mammoth cave and the listing stated 16 minute drive, we couldn’t find that route and it was more like 45 minutes. Maybe if we took the green river ferry but it was only open from 8-6.
We had a lovely time at this place with our family! The fire pit was a hit for the kids, we all enjoyed some laughs by the fire. The screened in porch was a great spot to sit with your coffee in the morning.
Only issue was getting up the driveway. If you don’t have 4 wheel drive, the gravel uphill can be a battle.
This house was perfect for two families since there are two kitchens, and everybody had their own space.
Although I would not recommend sleeping downstairs as you can hear every noise from the upstairs area.

A very nice house tucked away in the state park. Make sure the ferry is actually running before heading to the national park, and make sure that you’ve got a vehicle that can make it up a steepish gravel driveway (it was touch and go in our minivan). Other than that, the hosts do a great job of communicating everything you need to know about the property!
4 large bedrooms, 2 kitchens, 2 bath home with large screened in porch off the main living/dining area. Very near the lake; can walk on the 2 lane room to the beach within 10 minutes but we usually drove. Beautiful view of sky from fire pit. Ther are stairs to get into top level from outside and inside the home but the hill on right of home goes to door of screened porch to make hauling coolers easier. Can walk up that hill to porch to be on top leavel, instead of taking stairs, if have trouble with stairs. Nice home for large groups.
We stayed here with our friends to celebrate my husband's birthday and go hiking at Mammoth cave. It was very clean, easily accessible, and was reasonably close to mammoth cave. A little further down the road there is also a little park with a lake that had an incredible sunset when we were there.
I rented the house for 2 nights and we stayed one because after we went to the cave and horseback riding we were done and there's not a lot for 2 adults to do after that...the house was fine and clean and if you have a large group its very spacious. The yard was well kept and the screened in porch with the swing was very peaceful. My only suggestion is to upgrade the bath towels..they were nice and jumbo fluffy but super torn
The house is easy to find, although there are neighbors, when you sit in the screened porch you feel like you're on total privacy. The owner was very nice and answered the text I sent quickly. It was right next to Nolin Lake and a relatively quick ride to Mammoth Cave. My whole family enjoyed the house with plenty of room to spread out.
The house has two separate and complete living spaces, one up and one down. The downstairs space includes a kitchen (the extra fridge was a real plus) and a TV along with the two bedrooms and bathroom. This was perfect for the three grandkids. They could have their own space at times while the adults were upstairs. There is a spacious screened in porch which was great for relaxing and talking. Also, with heat indexes over 100, the A/C performed like a champ. Just a great setup for us.
We had a fun time here. It's a short walk to the beautiful sunsets by the lake and had everything we needed for a family vacation. The grill worked well, the fire pit was perfect for smores, and the extra kitchen worked well for keeping drinks cold.
