Somerset Dam Family Getaway - Holiday House in Hazeldean

This is the original country style house on our much loved family acreage property which comfortably sleeps 8 guests (3 bedrooms) including a large exterior deck showcasing uninterrupted views of Lake Somerset. Escape for a quiet relaxing break, enjoy water sports and fishing on the lake or explore the wide variety of activities the Somerset Region has to offer.

Appreciate the unique outlook this property has to offer, being one of the few completely uninterrupted views of Somerset Dam. There is a large fenced house yard with plenty of space available for you to use while enjoying the serene outlook of the property.

Bedding configuration is:
Bed 1: Queen
Bed 2: Queen
Bed 3: Queen + 2 x single

Split system air-conditioning in lounge area
BBQ on deck
Fully fenced - plenty of room to park boats/jet-skis

All bed linen (including, sheets, doonas, pillows & pillowcases) and bath towels are provided. Please bring your own swim towels.

Please note there is no access to Somerset Dam from our Property. The Kirkleagh boat ramp is only 5 minute drive and Somerset boat ramp is a 15 minute drive.

Annual Family Reunion

The accommodation is cosey and comfortable with spectacular views of the lake. Unfortunately, the weather was colder than expected with gusty afternoon winds which exposed the rear deck to the elements. Perhaps a suggestion might be to have some weather blinds installed. But all in all we had a great time. Cheers

Fabulous views and friendly horses

We had the most amazing time at this property. Only a short drive to the boat ramp. We spent most of our time on the deck. The kids loved playing in the yard and picking the oranges. The horses were so friendly. The house was clean with lovely linen. Large fridge and pantry and reasonably stocked kitchen. We hope to return soon!

Great family get away!

Absolutely loved our stay here and we will definitely be back to stay again! Just noted there was no HDMI cord for the DVD player. Could only recommend maybe adding a sign in the bathroom/kitchen regarding how hot the water is, seems as though there is no temp value. But overall, we loved our stay!

Perfect Spot on the Dam

Lovely little cottage with amazing views of the dam. Perfectly clean with a well equipped kitchen and comfy beds. Cottage is quite small but has a good size deck and bedrooms are spacious. Ideal spot to rest up after a day on the water. Would recommend.

Peaceful getaway with magic view!

We stayed here with two families and kids aged 7-12. It was such a wonderful break. The house was cozy, clean and comfortable and the view was just incredible. Very good for the soul! We hired a fishing boat at the nearby NRMA campsite (6 mins drive) and enjoyed a meal at The Exchange at Kilcoy plus a visit to the Kilcoy skatepark. But mostly, we just enjoyed the view and chatting on the lovely deck while the kids ran around and played in the yard. Highly recommended!

Relaxing break

Our group of 6 adults and a 2 year old had a great stay. There was plenty of space in the yard to play games and the scenery is great. The house was comfortable and had everything we needed.

Exactly what we were after

Property is small but functional and had everything we needed. Weather prevented us from getting out on the lake but had a great time hanging out at the house, took our camping chairs and table to the bottom of the property and took in the scenery. Likely to be back!

Peaceful and Scenic

The house was very clean and in a peaceful, scenic location. It had most things you would need for a weekend stay, however, there are a few items that could be added to make the stay easier and a little more comfortable. Sometimes just little things can make a difference, like some ice cube trays, a decent metal long handled spatula for the bbq, and some trivets. The back deck with the view is the best part of the property so let people enjoy it by maybe providing a couple of foldaway hammocks, or Cushions for the outdoor furniture, or even allowing the fire pit to be used when no fire bans are on.

Beautiful!

Lovely cottage with uninterrupted views of the water. Tameka's place is lovely; it has everything you need for a weekend away and sitting on the deck watching the storms roll through was a perfect way to spend a quiet afternoon. Would recommend!

We had a nice stay at Tameka's place. Quite, easily accessible and most importantly beautifully mantained. Our family had relaxing and fun stay. Would definitely recommend if you are looking to stay around Somerset.

We had a wonderful time at Somerset. The house was excellent, very clean, well equipped and laid out, great accommodation and location. Morning coffee on the deck as the sun rose over the hills and lake, couldn't ask for more. Thankyou!

It's a lot better than what you see

Photos can't always translate what you see and feel, and this is basically what happened with our stay. We were initially looking for a place with fireplace, but with those views, who missed it? It was reserved enough, pleasant, comfortable and it felt like the place was fully prepared to have our visit. The only thing we missed was having better dishwashing items. Other than that, I didn't hear a single complaint from my guests.5*

Great weekend away

The location was spot on, the kids enjoyed the outdoors - although it was the coldest weekend this year so far! The house had everything you need for a weekend away. Definitively recommend staying here.

Well laid out and immaculately clean shack. Really relaxing, quiet and well maintained property. Big bedrooms and functional kitchen. One split system a/c in lounge so had to leave all bedroom doors open at night. 10 min drive to launch boat.

Great Family Stay

Hazeldean was an awesome place to stay. Tameka was fantastic to communicate with and her house exactly what we were looking for.... comfortable, well resourced and a wonderful verandah to relax and view the dam.
