Peaceful walking trails with a fun and relaxing treehouse to stay for the night. We enjoyed the experience and exploring the property The owner is absolutely fantastic and attentive. Looking forward to our return and the dog Paris
The treehouse was so great and definitely exceeded our expectations! Even in sub zero temperatures we were cozy and comfortable. The space fed our imaginations and was a perfect natural hideaway for our family to spend quality time together, play games, explore the surrounding woods, and bask in the creativity and carpentry of our shelter. Thank you Bob for being so friendly and available. We made great memories here!
We booked this thinking it was another location nearby. It was a bit of a drive but so worth it. Bob, the owner, has put so much thought into the design of the whole property. The kids loved adventuring through the woods. There's a great community space near the main house and each treehouse has a cute fire pit area. The outdoor showers and composting toilets are such a great addition.
We also enjoyed a couple of chats with Bob throughout our stay. He was great. We look forward to booking another stay.
My family had a blast staying in the Captain’s Quarters treehouse, wishing we were staying longer! My boys absolutely loved exploring and hanging out. We would definitely stay again!
What an awesome place they’ve built! We would stay here regularly if we lived closer. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. The host is excellent. Our kids loved the place. The only downside was the previous guests smoked inside the treehouse, despite there being strict no smoking rules. But we would definitely stay there again.
We loved it here. Quiet, peaceful, beautiful - Bob was great to chat with and very knowledge. The outside showers were fun and had warm water! Highly recommend relaxing at Ten Acres Treehouses! !
My wife had our forst weekend getaway since our kid was born. It was exactly the vive we were looking for. Rustic experience with modern amenities. Compost toilet wasnt a big deal and the outdoor shower made for a fun experience. We plan in going back oneday and taking our son with us!
Tiny house, comfortable bed, wonderful shower (tin bucket but with hot water), a composting toilet (which actually does not smell much to my surprise) and the loudest noise I heard for three days was the sound of Paris' tail banging against the side of the cabin when she came to visit. This is not a fancy place at all, but it is comfortable; not glamping, but rather fits in well with nature. Livie (my wife) and I plan to return again, possibly to the log cabin in the winter, to play pioneers, but we would recommend our cabin or any of the others to anyone who would like to slow down and listen to nature. I gave it 5 stars and meant every one of them
Such a fun adventure! Quiet woods, lots of privacy, which was important given the open air shower. Bob was a fantastic and responsive host. Really enjoyed our stay.
The location was situated in the trees in a beautiful location. The shower was actually really fun to use and we even had warm water. It was an experience to shower outside and we had no complaints about it from our group. We wished we had been provided more bedding and the cigarette smell was overwhelming. It is a non smoking establishment but it was obvious someone didn’t adhere to this rule. We enjoyed our stay.
My partner, and I decided last minute to plan a quick weekend getaway and found this gem! It was the perfect way to unwind and relax! Don’t forget to stargaze! The skies are beautiful on a clear night!
Additionally, our host was very communicative and friendly.
Staying at the Captain's Quarters was an extremely fun and unique experience, offering a home above the ground in the tree line. While it was a slight adventure with the bathroom and shower accessible from the outdoors, but off the attached deck, the quaint little home was beautiful and easily slept five of us. A fully stocked outdoor fire pit was fantastic to enjoy a campfire, s'mores, and fun storytelling. It's easily accessible and halfway between Nauvoo and Keokuk. The property owner takes great pride and managing the home and making it available for use. Only item to consider is there isn't enough stove to cook a full meal for a family of five., but he provided great recommendations for local restaurants that we enjoyed.
My sisters and I stayed for my birthday & we had such an amazing time. So peaceful & the fall colors on the trees & Paris & goats! Can't wait to plan our next trip!
Our stay was amazing! We stayed two nights and had bonfires both nights. We hiked the trails and Paris served as our guide. The outhouse and outdoor shower was a different experience but absolutely unique! We loved all the unique features of the cabin and the location! We came in October and the temperature was perfect. We will be back for sure!
