(It is only for the use of the guests renting the Inn). In the Inn, the original, 1910 Douglas Fir floors have been restored in the living room and in the Suites. The Historic Inn is located on 10.7 acres and is in a park-like setting, with a Hottub, for privately scheduled time. There is complimentary kindling, firewood and a starter, for the campfire area. The Inn is also in the small community village, of Ashford, with the famous, Whitaker climbing-family's Sports Store (with rentals), Basecamp Bar and Grill, Espresso shop (with ice cream), Ashford Creek Pottery shop, Highlander (traditional restaurant/pub), two small grocery stores. Then, within four miles, there is the Copper Creek Restaurant and the Wildberry Restaurant. The Inn is only 6 miles from the Nisqually entrance to the National Park, where there are numerous trails, waterfalls, and other amazing sights. There are also the Longmire and Paradise areas, with Information Centers, a Museum, two restaurants (Longmire opened year-around) and numerous trails. Paradise facilities are open May through most of October; yet, enjoyable to see year-around!! The Park Service works daily in the winter to keep the roads open to Paradise, for the Snowpark area, for snow-shoeing and cross-country trails. Our guests love their adventures at the Park during the day, then their relaxation at the Inn, in the afternoon/evening!! We welcome our guests from all over the U.S., Europe, World.

Beautiful property and awesome historical home

We loved the house. Three couples , we came for an early Christmas celebration in Ashford where I grew up with 2 sisters and 2 brothers. I still have a brother and sister that live in the area. The house was so bright and welcoming and decorated for Christmas. The 3 suites were lovely and great for privacy. The home was very well stocked. Thanks for a lovely weekend.

Perfect location for Mt Rainier half marathon event

This lovely property was exactly what I wanted for a three day vacation with my husband and 2 adult daughters. We were within walking distance of the start of a half marathon in Ashford WA. Three en-suite bedrooms, living area, kitchen and dining room provided all the room we needed for nice dinners and card games. Owners were lovely and easy to contact. Large porch was inviting.

Quiet and relaxing

This property was in great condition and very inviting. The owners have a nice and relaxing place in the woods just off the highway. Our only issue was scheduling a time to use the hot as it is shared with another unit, although it was a very minor inconvenience. All told, this is an excellent place to escape reality for a day or two.

Relaxing stay close to Mt Rainier

Everything we needed in a clean renovated historic Inn. Wonderfully equipped kitchen. Grateful to the owners who allowed us to delay our arrival by a day due to a snowstorm. Thanks Ralph and Christi!

Very nice older home with all the amenities. Great kitchen, comfortable dining and family room. Hot tub in forest setting. Huge porch with a propane burner. Perfect base camp for Mt. Rainier outings. Have stayed here two years in a row now.

Great time

We had a great time. Enjoyed the Inn. It was just the right size for our famly. The host was attentive and accommodating, however we really didn't need anything. Very close to Mt. Ranier. If I have one slightly negative comment it would be that the knives could use sharpening.

Perfect getaway

Wonderful host! Great property for our small extended family because each room has its own bathroom. Home is spacious and comfortable. Hot tub is large and hot! Kitchen was well stocked so we were easily able to bring groceries and cook here. We very much enjoyed visiting Mt Rainier and hope to come back again to see the seasons change.

A Perfect Place

Mountain Meadows Inn is a perfect place for us and our family, and Ralph and Chris are excellent innkeepers. The Inn and its three bedrooms, each with a bath, is perfect for our family: my wife and I; our daughter, son-in-law, and granddaughter, and our son and daughter-in-law. Each year we spend several days together to enjoy time as a family and to bring in the New Year. The Inn has a large, well equipped kitchen (all of us love to cook, well most of us), a large dining room (we tend to eat too much during the holidays), a comfortable living room (great for lounging after over-eating); a roaring campfire in the fire pit (a New Year's Eve tradition, even if it is snowing), and visits to the snow in nearby Longmire and Paradise (great outdoor activities). Ralph and Chris keep the Inn very comfortable, well equipped, and very clean. Thanks for the smores!!! Really enjoyed our stay!!! Jim and Karen

Perfect for us

This property was in the perfect location for our exploration of Mt Rainier. The bedrooms were all a good size and very comfortable. The home was very clean and had everything we needed for our stay. We would be happy to stay here again. We enjoyed a thunderstorm one night from the beautiful porch. Thanks for sharing your home.

Beautiful spot for our family!

We enjoyed a beautiful weekend stay while attending a family wedding up the road at Copper Creek Inn. Though we didn’t get to spend much time here, we did thoroughly enjoy sipping our morning coffee on the beautiful wrap around porch! All of the rooms were quite spacious, with very comfy beds and worked really well for our family of 5. Beautiful grounds surrounding the Inn and plenty of parking as well!

Mt Rainier trip 2019

Ralph and Chris were wonderful hosts for our stay. We rented the entire Inn and it was perfect for our stay. It was close to the park and drove there each day. We took advantage of the fire pit and smores. It was a nice touch. Our son-in-law and granddaughter also used the hot tub. We cooked breakfast and one dinner at the rental. We ate at Wildberry and drove to Elbe to eat in the train car the other two nights. We would highly recommend this rental if you are planning a trip to Asford/Mt Rainier.

Perfect place after a day on Rainier

The day begins with coffee on the wrap around porch watching the woodpeckers and deer. The day ended around the campfire watching the elk. The rooms were large and wonderful. We recommended this property to friends. Thank you.

Perfection for a Group looking to Unwind Between Adventures

Ralph and Chris greeted us with open arms and welcome assistance. They provided the sweetest retreat. So much character, comfort, and assurance (through post-it instructions throughout the Inn). Perfect for familys, or friends on an outing. The ONLY flaw was the loud baseboard heaters. It seemed to only bother half of us though. I will return there again and again with my Midwest family visiting our new home in the Pacific Northwest.

Cozy With Everything We Needed!

We really enjoyed staying here. It was a relaxing setting close to Rainier and Mt Tahoma Ski Trails. We rented the entire Inn. We put our young kids in the room next to ours, and the grandparents got their own sort of privacy in the room that is off the living room (as far away from the kids noise as they could get!). We noticed the owners were very attentive yet gave us privacy as well. They attended to the hot tub daily, and gave us fresh towels, and took out the trash every day. It was quiet and serene, and the kitchen was well stocked with anything needed for cooking. Will definitely stay again!

We had a very pleasant stay

We stayed in all 3 suites of the main building so basically had all of it for ourselves. There was coffee waiting for us every morning and the beds were made every day. The hot tub was a blast. On the last day there was a sweet surprise for us on the kitchen counter.

About the host

Hosted by Ralph and Chris Coleman

Host profile image
Ralph and Chris were Mental Health Therapists for 35 years. Mountain Meadows Inn is a second career, in a related service-industry. We are now able to experience guests enjoying their vacations, in-between the life-challenges, that we all experience!!

Why they chose this property

Our son, a Realtor, suggested this Inn. He thought it would be an excellent second career (semi-retirement career)!! We have really enjoyed this whole process, of renovation, with our son, daughter-n-law and grandsons assistance. They have excellent ideas and provide us with lots of enjoyable time together. We also feel honored to be the "Owner/Caretakers" of this Inn and Chalet, for guests to enjoy throughout time. We are the third set of owners, to have an Inn here, since 1980...

What makes this property unique

This is an Historic Inn in this area, with a newer Chalet. The Suites all have their own private areas and bathrooms. Each Suite is spacious and yet comfortable/cozy. Our renovations have tried to retain the best of the older, with some of the best of the newer in supplies and colors.
There are 10.7 acres. there are many areas for guests to enjoy...a huge park-like area, a wrap-around extensive porch, several Firepits for campfires, the Hottub, under the stars...
There are also huge Red Cedars, W. HemlocKs and Douglas Firs. There are numerous wildflowers in the early summer. There is a stream, that runs through the property most of the year, as well as, a Cedar Grove, with a bench and area for meditation or relaxing...
Come and enjoy!!
