About this property

LUXURY Duck Creek Pines Cabin, Trailside Lodge backs forest!

For the last three years, we have owned our dream cabin, Trailside Lodge, and we are so excited to have the opportunity to share it with you! Since we purchased the cabin in 2019, we have made upgrades including a new 65” TV in the main living area, and a brand new firepit. We also installed new window treatments on all windows! This means unobstructed views of the pink cliffs and the national forest as well as a “blackout” feature for all bedrooms ensuring you have a peaceful rest.

From the moment you arrive at Trailside Lodge, you will understand why we fell in love with it. Not only does the cabin back the national forest, but it offers rare and gorgeous views of the pink cliffs from the front deck and family room.
Situated on over 2 acres, the 3,300 sq ft 3 story cabin is one of the few with air conditioning.

UPSTAIRS: loft and master bedroom and bathroom with king bed and whirlpool tub.

MAIN: Bedroom with two twins, full bath, spacious gourmet kitchen, laundry room, vaulted family room.

DAYLIGHT BASEMENT: Bedroom en-suite with queen bed, queen pull out couch and full bath, family room with two additional queen pull out couches. All pull outs have memory foam mattress - the same ones used at the Ritz Carlton and the Waldorff Astoria. The family room has fussball, air hockey, stand alone video game console, indoor basketball and a HUGE TV.

DECK: grill, 6 adirondack chairs, table and chairs, bird feeders

OUTSIDE: two picnic tables, fire pit with adirondack chairs and an adorable playhouse complete with mailbox and dutch door.

At an elevation of 8,500 feet, Duck Creek is the perfect mountain getaway to experience the seasons, and is in the heart of the Dixie National Forest. Duck Creek is surrounded by beautiful national parks including Zion National Park, Bryce Canyon National Park, Cedar Breaks and Grand Canyon. With miles and miles of ATV and hiking trails, and several lakes and ponds for fishing, you will never run out of activities for the entire family. Winter activities are just as fun as this location is within a short drive to skiing at Brian Head as well as snowmobiling, sledding and snowball fights in your backyard. One of our favorite times to visit is the fall, so we are able to witness the gorgeous colors of the leaves as they change. It is truly breathtaking!
With strict CC&Rs, Duck Creek Pines is the premier neighborhood with convenient access to Duck Creek Village restaurants and shops. We ask that our guests read over the guidelines and abide by all rules and regulations to ensure the neighborhood is kept at this exclusive status. Failure to comply with the posted regulations may result in fines from the HOA.

Beautiful, warm, welcoming vacation home!

We were so impressed with this cabin! It is beautifully decorated and perfectly equipped. We felt very comfortable and had a great time in the game room and the kitchen/family room area. The porches and fire pit are amazing too with beautiful views. We have stayed at many vacation homes and this was one of our favorites!

Dreamy Cabin

We brought our ATVs and kids and had a blast exploring the many trails for fall break. Sadly we missed the fall colors but it was still beautiful. We had a snow storm that kept us inside for a full day and the power went out but the back up generator kicked right on and we cozied up to the fireplace. It was perfect. Great cabin in a great location.

Beautiful trail side lodge

Our family had a wonderful time during our stay at the lodge. Everything you could think of was available. The books and toys for the kiddos were perfect, as well as the giant playroom, to keep our children happy as we relaxed. Would stay again any day.

Wonderful Property, Wonderful Location!

We could not have made a better choice of property for our Utah vacation! The owners of Trailside Lodge thought of everything, and from the moment we walked in we were impressed and felt welcomed. First, the property was immaculately clean and maintained. Second, the games and books and movies for our children were wonderful to have. And third the owners had considered all of the small details. For instance, it was wonderful to have fans in every bedroom, and the kitchen was well-stocked and every possible need met. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning!

Hard to find this place. Once there, very secluded. Internet never worked but who needs it? Had to haul our trash a couple miles to a dumpster, strip our beds and put towels in laundry, wash up all dishes. Cleaning fee too.

Beautiful cabin

This amazing cabin was our home for this Christmas and we cannot choose better! Interior is beautiful, everything we needed was there even things like rice cooker or panini maker. Everything was sparkly clean and we loved that every bathroom has enough towels and also things like makeup tissues or bath salt. Mr and Mrs Toste are very quick with responding which is awesome. Cabin is super big, there is enough space and living room is huge! Only one thing to be aware of- during the winter season you definitely need 4x4 or chains. Me and my friends highly recommend this spot and we’ll definitely book this cabin again! :)

Beautiful cabin / Great location to National Parks

Everything about this cabin is outstanding. The view, amenities, comfort and in house entertainment. The owners have gone way above out of their way to make sure this cabin feels like home. The kitchen has every utensil/appliance you would ever need. The beds and sofas are super comfortable. We loved using the wood burning fireplace as it snowed every night. (If you go in the winter months make sure you have a 4 wheel drive.) The basement game room is so much fun. On days we didn't visit the parks we enjoyed watching it snow and playing games. Communication with the owners was great. Cheryl was always available if we had any questions. Thank you Cheryl and Jason for sharing your beautiful cabin.

Beautiful, family friendly, clean home with all amenities as or better then description!!

Fully stocked kitchen with everything you could need to prepare meals as if you were at home. Owners make check in/ out super easy with detailed instructions. Pictures did not do this home justice!! Adorable decoration and details make you feel right at home. The beds are VERY comfortable and lots of extra pillows and blankets available. Peaceful and relaxing the minute you walk in. Variety of seating areas inside and out , picnic tables , large decks ( one side for sunrise and the opposite side of the home for sunset!!) Inside there is a big table for family meals and game nights. Stocked with variety of board games. The game room was a HUGE hit with the big kids. The lower level gave them their own space to relax and hang out after fishing, hiking and swimming at the lakes! Our oldest son brought his mountain bike -there are designated bike trails - one at Navajo lake that he enjoyed very much- and even with all of the ATV trails the noise was minimal! Perfect location - 30 min to Panguitch Lake, 15 min to Navajo lake (where you can rent paddle boards and kayaks) , 5 min into duck creek village , Horseback riding Very close by. There are helpful maps and menus , information guides to local attractions provided by the owners. At night, smores by the fire pit , plenty of chairs for the whole family and You can see thousands of stars!! They had firewood available. The owners really have thought of every detail. We had a quick question about the grill- they answered right away ! Already confirmed our next stay!! I Can see our family having many adventures and great vacations at this rental !! Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful home with us.

Great House, Great Location

This VRBO was the best one we have rented so far. Oh My gosh! We loved it. My husband and 2 kids went to stay there for a week to explore Southern Utah as a celebration of my son's graduation from HighSchool. The owners were very responsive and helpful! They answered our questions and gave us suggestions for places to hike and see. The house was very well set up! They had all the toiletries you would need! Even lotion, toothbrushes, toothpaste, Q tips, etc!!! There was extra toweling and toilet paper. Plus plenty of dish soap and extra garbage bags!! The have a very extensive set of books for the area attractions as well as the house instructions! They also have games to play and books to read! And, Yes, the internet does work. Not sure why that other reviewer gave them a bad review! You should TOTALLY disregard that one! There are a number of large TV's plus a game room! So fun. The house is right off of one of the local hiking trails near the ATV routes! you can walk right from there if you want. The house is very lovely. Large master suite on the top floor. Main Floor bedroom with 2 beds was very nice and a bedroom down stairs. It was perfect for our Family! The Kitchen has all the appliances, cookie sheets, coffee makers, many kettles and pans etc for cooking! Plus a spice rack! There is plenty of silverware and dishes.. Cheryl and Jason have taken care to make sure that your / our visit is comfortable and lovely!! There is a washer and dryer plus dryer sheets and detergent! We had so much fun hiking in Zion, Bryce Canyon, near Duck Creek, Cave exploring in Duck Creek, ATV's and Zip Line in St. George, etc etc etc! We could go on and on about the Toste House! Suffice to say: You will be very happy to stay at this one! We loved it!! If you are going to stay in Southern UT and you want something central to all of those places, this was a great place to stay!!

A true wonderland.

Check in was a breeze and the Cabin was beautiful and tucked away. The quiet was remarkable and so calming. The home back right up to the forest and the kids loved playing out back. The home was stocked with every amenity one would need including lots of activities and games. There was enough wood for lots of lovely cozy fires as well as fires in the fire pit (which we didn’t get to use but really should have). Beware the couch is super comfy! Would definitely recommend for any family or friendly getaway!

Great, secluded mountain cabin

We had a great stay! Owners stocked kitchen very well for us. The cabin is located in a very secluded mountain area and it takes a while to get anywhere, which was perfect for us. 2 families of 4 each were a part of our trip and plenty of space for each family to spread out. Beautiful cabin, and I appreciate the extras the owners did for hospitality: the pasta and marinara sauce, popcorn, snacks, soap, shampoo, etc that made our stay very welcoming. Nice fire pit outside and trails in the back to walk. Would rent again if we are ever back in the area!

Great cabin with lots of amenities!

We stayed here as a family of 3 (have a baby) and the grandparents. Was super nice everyone had their own level to sleep on. The game room was great downstairs. Living room with high ceilings and view of the pink cliffs was great. Hosts were very communicative and available. Enjoyed walking around the property and our back you’re against the forest. Loved seeing the deer walk through, too. Would highly recommend staying here.

About the host

Host profile image
We vacationed in Duck Creek for several years before we decided to purchase a home in 2017. Just two years later, our dream cabin, The Trailside Lodge became available to purchase, and we could not pass up the opportunity. We have a 7 year old and a 5 year old as well as 2 Boxers, ages 12 and 4. We love hiking and fishing as a family, so Duck Creek is our dream home away from home!

Why they chose this property

Perfectly situated between Zion and Bryce, Duck Creek is the perfect family getaway. The summer offers hiking, fishing and miles and miles of ATV trails. In the evening, make s'mores around the fire pit, or gaze at the beautiful stars in the sky without the city lights blocking your view. The winter offers cross country skiing, snowmobiling, sledding and building snowmen in your backyard as well as downhill skiing just a short drive away in Brian Head. We are so proud to call Southern Utah, and more specifically Duck Creek Pines our second home.

What makes this property unique

We had the privilege of staying in The Trailside Lodge in 2015, and we fell in love with the property right away. The Lodge is on over 2 acres, which offers the privacy you crave when on a mountain getaway. The rear balcony offers unobstructed views of the national forest while the front balcony offers rare pink cliff views that are breathtaking at sunset. Inside, with over 3,300 sq ft of living space, there is fun to be had by all ages. Although rarely used, The Lodge is one of the few with air conditioning. Outside, there is a kids playhouse, swing, cornhole, horseshoes and a brand new fire pit.
Since purchasing the home in 2019, we have upgraded to a white glove cleaning service. It is our goal to provide you with the highest quality, so we did a full deep clean including replacing all of the linens, and our future plans include refinishing the natural wood floors, replacing the carpets and adding a kids playground.
