Mango Haven - An Historic Gracious Beachfront Home

Mango Haven è una casa molto ricorda privata di "Old Hawaii" in tempi moderni di Honolulu. L'albero di mango maestoso è il cuore della nostra casa che accoglie gli ospiti con la sua grande tettoia gentile. E 'la nostra casa lontano da casa. Nati e cresciuti nelle isole, adoriamo Mango Haven e vogliamo condividere con voi la nostra casa accogliente e rilassata, situata su un tratto di spiaggia sabbiosa poco affollato.

L'albero di mango prolifica porta l'abbondanza di frutta. Generazioni hanno fatto chutney di mango da questi manghi, e le generazioni si sono anche tornato a godere del loro tempo a Mango Haven con la famiglia e gli amici. Siamo orgogliosi del numero di ospiti che ritornano ogni anno.

Quando Mango Haven è stata ribattezzata per catturare l'essenza di questa proprietà storica, purtroppo abbiamo perso tutte le nostre precedenti (tutte positive) recensioni a partire dal 2002 su questo sito web. Eppure gli ospiti venivano per generazioni prima ... prima di questo sito o di Internet!

La nostra casa è un rifugio - di trascorrere del tempo insieme con la famiglia e gli amici godersi la spiaggia, condividere i pasti e rilassante dalla vostra giornata al sole. Le albe epiche sembrano fare gusto del caffè migliore! Alla fine della giornata, godersi il cielo al tramonto o sedersi sotto le stelle di notte sotto le palme ondeggianti sentire il suono delle acque che lambiscono la riva.

Questa casa sulla spiaggia ben tenuta era una volta un cottage di pescatori negli anni '30. Siamo orgogliosi di preservare il fascino antico, mentre l'aggiornamento continuo con moderne comodità di Wi-Fi, TV via cavo, elettrodomestici moderni e aria condizionata.

La vista sulla spiaggia sono il punto focale della ampio soggiorno, sala da pranzo, proiettato in Lanai e due master suite. La master suite hanno ciascuna bagni e la terza camera ha un annesso bagno ½. La nostra doccia esterna privata non può essere battuto dopo una giornata in mare e si gode tutto l'anno.

Mango Haven è di oltre 2200 piedi quadrati con spazio per tutti per raccogliere e sala per la privacy. Il grande lanai chiuso che si apre verso la spiaggia è la nostra camera più popolare in casa. Qui è dove passiamo il tempo godendo della vista del mare, sala da pranzo, prendere i peli sulle hiki'es (letti al giorno), giocare a ping pong, o leggendo un libro. Qualcosa per tutti vi attende a Mango Haven.

Il cantiere è piantato con piante da fiore e alberi da frutto. Godetevi la fragrante Plumeria, Stephanotis, orchidee e Ginger quando sono in fiore. Se siete qui quando le banane maturano o durante la stagione Mango - godere della bontà di frutta!

Questa casa sulla spiaggia isola si trova in posizione centrale con facile accesso alle principali attrazioni dell'isola. 10 minuti la spiaggia passeggia al Waialae Country Club e il Kahala Hotel. Ottima posizione per la partecipazione al Sony Open. La casa si trova anche lungo il percorso di Honolulu Marathon - luogo ideale per i partecipanti o per allietare il vostro corridore preferito su! Haunama Bay, Koko Head Crater, il buco di colpo, Sandy Beach, Pearl Harbor, l'Università delle Hawaii (la casa è molto popolare durante il fine settimana di laurea in modo da prenotare in anticipo!), L'Hawaii Convention Center, Ala Moana Shopping Center, Bishop Museum, Iolani Palace & Diamond Head sono facili da raggiungere dalla nostra posizione centrale.

Fantastic home away from home!

Everything about the stay at Mango Haven was incredible. The prompt, kind, and accommodating communications were so appreciated. The home is fantastic, obviously the views and location are unparalleled, and the amenities in the home are plentiful. A quick trip to a grocery store and you are ready to start your stay! We were a family of 6, 3 adult couples and the home felt spacious, private, and just so perfect for our daughter’s college graduation week here on the island. Sirkka is just the sweetest caretaker for the beautiful property and home. Knowing she is available by text or phone call gives such peace of mind, and her warmth is everything Aloha and truly wrapped up our stay at Mango Haven. We are very grateful to have had the opportunity to make such lifelong memories in this home, Mahalo.

Lovely Stay at Mango Haven

We loved staying at Mango Haven - the location (right on the water!), the amazing mango tree (fresh mangos every day!), the hang-out areas (ping pong, boogie boards, lounge chairs!), the friendly & prompt communication. It very comfortably fit our group of 6. The kitchen had plenty of supplies. The only down side was that you could hear the traffic from the main road, since you are right off of it, but that just comes with the location. We would definitely stay here again.

Hawaiian Paradise

If you are looking for a 100 year old authentic Hawaiian bungalow on the beach close to Honolulu and Waikiki, this is the place for you. The area is not good for swimming, but you can walk down the beach 15 minutes in either direction and the water is deeper. There are 3 bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms. Two of the bedrooms have full ocean views. The kitchen is authentic except for the solid stone counter tops. Beautiful place to relax and get great pictures. I would definitely recommend it. The property manager and caretaker quickly addressed any concern or issues that arose and the mango tree was giving us fresh mangos everyday.

Beautiful historic Hawaiian home

First off the house is a beautiful and well-maintained and preserved historic home with a large property and perfect beachfront backyard. Mango Haven is located off a main busy road close to shopping malls grocery stores and everything you would need. Once you are in the house it feels like you are miles away. Upon arrival, Sirrka was on site to greet us and and answer any questions we had. The property manager Susu was very accommodating to all of our requests. Overall this property was everything I expected and more. I will definitely be using this property on my future trips.

A relaxing stay

My family and I had a lovely stay together at Mango Haven. The three separate bedrooms were comfortable for our growing family of 7 adults, 1 toddler, and 1 infant. Each morning we would sit out back and enjoy coffee together looking out onto the water. We would also enjoy scoping out the front yard for mangos that had dropped. We were able to get a few before the birds or bugs got to them and they were so much more delicious than the store-bought mangoes or even mangoes that we bought at the farmers market. The location of the house is quite convenient to Honolulu. We also made easy trips to Lanikai/Kailua, Waimanalo, Dole Plantation, and the North Shore area. The house also had a propane grill that we were able to use to have a delightful Memorial Day BBQ. Susu and Sirkka were wonderful hosts. An issue with one of the A/C units came up and was very swiftly and appropriately addressed. As for negatives, there were only two that were minor: a bit of road traffic noise in the front yard as the house is located off of a busy road and the beach, which was quite small even at low tide and a little painful to walk on without shoes due to various ocean debris. It is not a swimming beach. The water is shallow for several hundred feet off shore, however this made for interesting people watching as some people would wade out into the water and fish. Both of these points are certainly out of control of the property owners/managers and so would never be expected to be addressed, but future renters may want to be aware. Other points to note: the kitchen is a bit dated, but well-equipped; the washer/dryer is on the property, but not inside the main house; A/C in the common room and bedroom with the queen bed were effective, however the king bedrooms still seemed a bit hot (during the day) even with A/C; the kitchen is without A/C, but does have a ceiling fan and can get warm when cooking. Overall, it was a lovely house for our purposes and I would recommend it to other families looking for quality relaxation time together in beautiful Hawaii.

Beautiful setting for family bonding

A beautiful cozy home full of olden day charm, history and romance yet very clean and spacious with modern day conveniences. All the rooms are large and furnishings were very comfortable. It's away from the "maddening crowd" and noise yet conveniently located and close to all the attractions, restaurants and stores. You can even walk on the beach from the house to the Kahala Hilton beach side buffet for great meals. We enjoyed a lot of what the house had to offer and had an amazing stay. The view of sunrise and sunset from the house is gorgeous and it was nice to see and talk to people out on the reef fishing. My five year old son had a great time playing on the beach everyday; catching fish, chasing sand crabs, exploring the reef, collecting shells, and building sand castles. The outdoor shower with hot and cold water was wonderful and appreciated by everyone. It was a perfect setting for three generations of family to bond and enjoy each other. The property manager and care taker were very accommodating and helpful in everyway. We hope to be able to return to this property. We highly recommend this property to everyone.

Perfect for our family

We just finished our 8 day Hawaii trip and I'm writing this review on the flight back home. Mango Haven was a beautiful place to spend our time in Oahu. Property is well kept and the house is charming. The covered Lanai with the ping pong table was a huge hit with the kids, though nothing could compete with the beach access steps away from the house. Kids spent hours walking the reef and seeing fascinating creatures when the tide was out and snorkeling/swimming when the tide was in. The 200-year-old Mango tree in the front yard was majestic and provided more mangos than we could eat every day. Kids had a blast going for the "mango run" several times a day. Shopping was nearby, less than 5 min for groceries and other basic needs, and about 10 min for more including major department stores. We loved this place! We are hoping to return for more memories. Thank you Mango Haven!

Great beach property

Lovely bed room with amazing views!!!!

The scenery is really wonderful! With the scenery here I can drink plenty of beer. It was close to the highway but I could sleep comfortably without noise. I'll definitely stay again! Thank you Susu & Sirkka.

Relaxing

The owner was easy to work with. The property manager was very friendly and helpful. House is directly off a busy road but sits back and is very quiet. Beautiful trees and backyard. We grilled dinner on the new BBQ almost every night. Beach access to play in the water, but not a great spot to swim. Centrally located. Did a Costco run on the first day and used the full kitchen resources. 8-10 min to Waikiki shops and beaches, 45 min to north shore, and 25 min to Pearl Harbor, aloha stadium swap meet, and east shore beaches and swimming.

Mango Haven is a very beautiful and wonderful place.

Especially the lanai, the private garden and the beach are wonderful. The host was very well organized and was around for all of our questions. I borrowed with my friend and her family, and the private of the two families was fully guaranteed. We had a comfortable and nice time at Mango Haven. If you have car rental, we do not have trouble moving, or you can use 22,23 lines of city bus, you will arrive at T Galleria DFS in about 30 minutes without transfer.

Perfect

we could not have asked for more, and we are picky when it comes to vacation rentals! this house was so perfect. it's an older home but the inside feels fresh and comfortable and it had absolutely everything that we needed. the backyard is huge and was perfect for our little one to run around, and best of all is that we were right on the beach (although it's very shallow so not great for swimming). this house was so relaxing and just awesome. it is right off a busy road but once you pull in you completely forget about that and we never heard any traffic from inside the house or from the backyard. the housekeeper that shares the lot, Saarki, is so wonderful and made is feel completely at home. I cannot wait to stay at this house again! thank you.

40th Wedding Anniversary Celebration

Celebrated this wonderful occasion by taking our 2 kids, plus spouses and one nearly three-year old grandson, to Hawaii for a week. After reviewing hundreds of possible locations and islands, Mango Haven was the standout choice. Separate quarters for each of three families, spacious shared quarters for eating, playing and relaxing together, great outdoor space and oh, those magnificent, quiet morning sunsets! Susu was incredibly responsive to our questions, and caretaker Sirka was equally helpful. The bedding and linens were luxuriously comfortable. Before we even left the island, everyone was talking about how soon we could return! Great bonding experience for scattered families.

Wonderful Gem!

Had a wonderful time with the family - great place to unwind and "live barefoot". We hated to go and felt recharged after our trip to Hawaii. Didnt do much sight seeing as we have been to the islands several times before. First time renting a home and we will definitely be back to stay at MANGO HAVEN!

Awesome, awesome, awesome!

This was perfect for our multi-generational family (ranging from 6 years old to 80 years). The layout each of use to have privacy and bring us together, with an impressive expansive lanai, expansive green yards all around perfect for the kids, and ocean front. Some notable items other than the ocean front beach access included: Outdoor shower. Toy corner for the kids. Well stocked kitchen..so well stocked!! Crisp, sparkling, white linens. Fluffy pillows, and firm, comfortable, new beds! I slept so well with the ocean breeze, no AC needed! And of course, the expansive view of the ocean right in front! Location is far enough from the tourist area, yet close enough. Drive into Waikiki was about 10 minutes one direction, and in the other Hanauma Bay. Minutes from local places like the Kahala Mall, Wholefoods, Hawaii Kai Koko Marina, etc. And from the property...you can easily stroll to the Kahala Hotel and the Waialae Country Club. Amazing morning sunrises to be watched on the grounds. Property manager was very responsive. And upon arrival, the onsite caretaker welcomed us and was a delight as well. And there was a fresh pineapple, and an exceptional array of Hawaiian goodies welcoming us on the indoor dining table. This place exceeded my expectations. The pictures do not do this place justice! A stroll down the beach, you'll notice all the overbuilt mansion neighbors. This beauty, is a classic property with a huge front and backyard frontage with the old school lanai. I hope they keep the property as-is forever. And I hope to be back again, maybe during mango season! There's a giant mango tree in the front yard. Place was awesome, awesome, awesome!

Great month!

Came back for our annual monthly visit to spend time with the family. Been staying here since 2002 so its like our second home. Lots of room to have our family over for BBQs and hanging out. Ping Pong tournaments got pretty competitive.

BEST family vacation location!

Our family flew in from Texas & Colorado - which included our 4 grandchildren. The grandchildren enjoyed their own room (and 1/2 bath) and hearing their late night laughing made us grandparents smile ear to ear. They only see each other twice a year and this trip was most special because they shared so many "FIRSTS". Snorkeling (Hanauma Bay), surf lessons (Hans Hedemann Surf School) , canoe rides (Waikiki Beach stand), flower lei making, husking a coconut, etc. Our welcome basket was very nice with some fresh fruit (sweetest pineapple!), papaya, local jelly, etc. Having a washer and dryer as well as an outdoor clothesline for wet swimsuits was great appreciated. The home sits off a busy road but you can only hear some traffic if you stand by the front door when it's open....maybe because the house is close to the beach and away from the road. We thought we'd welcome the use of the AC but never used it! We had very cool tradewinds. We will be back next winter and hope to become one of Mango Haven's "regulars". PS. kids loved looking for sand crabs at night with flashlights.

Mango Haven? More like Mango Heaven.

House has older, rustic feel but still has modern amenities. Really liked the lanai area with screen doors which allowed breeze to flow through the house. Property was huge and very well maintained. Full kitchen made it easy to save left overs since Hawaiian meals tended to be really big haha!

Best 5 days of my life!

Mango Haven is, without a doubt, appropriately named. The property was gorgeous and was everything that the description on the website made it out to be. I really liked the traditional and rustic feel, which is a breath of fresh air from the craziness of our lives in downtown SF. Hawaii was really hot compared to SF, and I opened all the windows and sliding doors, which let the breeze cool down the home. Didn't even use air conditioning till night time! My kids loved the ping pong table in the patio and had a great time playing on the beach. They were able to go kayaking during the day and crab hunting at night. Also, their room had its own bathroom so they were able to use it in the middle of the night without disturbing my wife and I. Coming from San Francisco, I'm a huge 49ers fan, and the HDTV in the living room was great for watching the Niners beat the Chicago Bears. My wife and I enjoyed many long, romantic walks down the easily accessible beach which revived our dying marriage. I highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a great vacation!
