Casa Canda is a beautiful, well appointed, 2 bedroom cottage located in the quiet seaside village of Praia da Luz. It has sea views. Only 250m (200m as the crow flies) from the beautiful sandy beach of Praia da Luz. Restaurants, shops and 2 excellent supermarkets are within easy walking distance. To the front (south) it has a private pool with terrace, bridge and water feature. To the rear it has a private terraced area for car parking. The cottage is maintained to a high standard. On the lower floor, there are 2 bedrooms, 1 with an en-suite shower-room. There is a separate family bathroom. Patio doors lead to terrace, sunbeds and pool. On the upper floor, a nice sized lounge/dining room with patio doors out to balcony and patio furniture/BBQ. The kitchen is contemporary and includes granite work surfaces, gas hob, electric oven, microwave, fridge/freezer and washing machine. The lounge has a wall mounted TV and beautiful log fire. Electric heaters are provided for winter lets. Logs may be purchased for the contemporary log burner. 3 golf courses within 5-10 minutes drive.

A gem of a place

We stayed here for 2 weeks and I can honestly say that there is not one thing negative I can say about this property. It was immaculately clean, had high quality furniture inside and out and every accessory we could possibly need during our stay. The pool was a superb size too!

Perfect stay in Luz

We had such a lovely holiday in Luz, and the property was wonderful. It's location is perfect, being so close to a supermarket and a short walk from the lovely beach. The size of the property is perfect for 4, with comfy beds, 2 bathrooms (especially important with two teenagers), a well appointed kitchen and good size lounge/dining room. The best part of the property is the outside spaces though. The balcony is perfect for meals and sitting out in the evening, while the sun loungers and pool are a great place to spend the day (some days were a bit too windy for the beach). Everyone enjoyed the holiday so much, and we would love to visit again in the future.

Amazing traditional Portuguese holiday home!

What can I say really other than, superb! This was a fantastic stay with ultra accommodating hosts, everything was just lovely. The location was perfect, a stones throw from one of main shops in Luz and a lovely 5 min walk down to the promenade and beach. Having a drive way made such a difference with us renting a car for the week and we loved the clean, simple and traditional feel of this stunning holiday home. The show stopper though is the pool which is outstanding, a real treat especially for children, my daughter loved it and would hop out of bed and straight in the mornings! A truly wonderful stay and a real gem in a gorgeous resort, we can’t wait to go back and hope this home is available when we do! 5* Thank you A&C

Good Location

The house is in a good location, handy to walk everywhere in Luz. It's opposite Batista supermarket but noise really wasn't an issue and it's so convenient for stocking up. Staying in September we managed without pool heating and it was great to cool off after a hard day on the beach. The views from the balcony are nice with the Black Rock and sea, No noisy neighbours. Clean and well equipped.

Perfect home for a family holiday

We originally booked our holiday for July 2020 but due to covid 19 we had to postpone. Ann and Chris were very understanding and allowed us to transfer the dates twice. Casa Canda is very clean and would highly recommend to anyone looking to holiday in Luz. The supermarket is conveniently situated across the road and the beach is only a 5 min walk. The highlight for the children was the swimming pool in the garden, they didn't want to leave. The kitchen is fully equipped for making family meals and there are plenty of restaurants nearby. We all had an enjoyable experience and would definitely stay at Casa Canda again. Thank you Ann and Chris.

We had a great relaxing time. View of the sea is wonderful, and so close to the super market, only a few minutes to the beach, plenty of places to eat and drink. We did not hire a car, buses are good and easy to use. Kitchen has everything for our stay and yes I did cook at times. In all villa is very comfortable and relaxing, even used the pool, I did need help to enter pool due to medical reasons on this time. we enjoyed it so much that we're hoping to re-book for next year.

Lovely property

Had an amazing time staying at the property for 2.5 weeks. Excellent location close to beach and all the bars & restaurants. Literally a few steps from a supermarket which stocks all you need. Our trip was during the 2020-21 covid pandemic so the Resort was very quiet but that suited us. The house is fully equipped with everything needed to totally relax which is what we wanted. The only downside ( this is our opinion only and we note that we are tv addicts ) is the lack of many British tv channels on the TV, however we could still get the Euros football so hubby was happy. Thanks to Anne & Chris for letting us stay in their lovely home. ( ps the pool was chilly 🤣😁

Family Holiday in Luz

We had a wonderful holiday in Luz, The property was perfect, for 2 Adults with 4 children, The house was very clean and modern with all the comforts of home. The house was close to everything, local shop, beach and restaurants, The kids loved the pool and couldn't get them out of it. The sea view are just lovely. Thanks to Chris and Ann, we hope to return and stay at their lovely house again very soon.

lovely villa in ideal location

We had a fab week in this villa. Very central location yet nice and peaceful. Kids loved the pool. Didnt have pool heated to start with and kids were fine. Decided to get it heated while there though as adults were soft🙂. Ann and Chris were very responsive and helpful. No need for a car . Shop 2 mins away and good local buses to Lagos , Burgau and beyond. Great villa for kids - a home from home. Thanks Ann and Chris

Fantastic location.

Just away from the hustle and bustle but within easy reach of the beach, restaurants and less than a minute from the supermarket. The villa was clean and comfortable and the pool was perfect. The balcony would benefit from an awning for al fresco dining but otherwise a well equipped.

Casa Canda is a gem of a cottage located perfectly for the beach and all that the town has to offer. Great views, clean as a whistle, comfortable beds, and a well-equipped kitchen. We were blessed with the weather over New Year, and made full use of the balcony, terrace and BBQ each day. Even the pool was used. Chris and Anne are generous with their tips for everything from eating and days out to car hire. We couldn't have asked for better service or accommodation.

A lovely cottage in a friendly and relaxed location with a sea view

Going by past reviews and appearances of this cottage/villa is what made me decide to book. We were not disappointed their was everything you needed for a relaxing holiday. Clean, comfortable, excellent location and a nice swimming pool with a working water fountain (switch located on the left hand side of wall just up from steps) I thought I would mention this as it took me awhile to work out where to turn it on from. Chris and Ann provided clear information on how to reach the property which was very helpful. We will definitely be booking again in the future.

Perfect Property in a Perfect Location!

We had a fantastic stay at Casa Canda in the latter half of September. Not only was the accommodation ideal for us as a couple, but I’m sure it would be equally ideal for a family of four. For a 2 bed villa (Ann and Chris, the owners refer to it as a ‘cottage’, but having stayed in a number of villas over the years I’d just say it was a smaller version) there was plenty of room, lots of storage space and a doors out to the south-facing pool area (below) and balcony (above). We would mostly have our breakfast on the balcony – if we were up early enough we’d watch the sun rise over Black Rock around 8am – and on those days when we weren’t out and about we could enjoy the sun in full effect in, or by, the pool until around 3:30pm, at which time we would hit the beach just a few minutes stroll away. The location could not have been better. There were some really good places to eat virtually on the doorstep! Our favourites included YOLO (ignore the trying-too-hard name, the food and service were spot on!), Paulo’s (the black pork was delicious) and Barroca (we ate there 3 times in 14 days and they do the best pina coladas!). It’s also worth mentioning that the Baptista supermarket is about a 30 second walk (we did what the locals do and went for coffee and the best pastel de natas in their café a number of times). Baptista is a little pricey but if you have car – we hired one for a few days – you can pop into the Lidl in Lagos and stock up like we did. Anyway, it’s extremely handy. You can see the beach from the balcony, which is a lovely view, and the sea front has a few nice chilled out little bars (Endless Summer was a favourite). Also recommended is the cliff top walk to Burgau, which takes around an hour and is well worth doing (it took us an hour and a half but we were dawdling long and took tons of photos as we went). There are a number of bus stops (£1.60 any journey – expect Saturdays when it seemed to be free) nearby so visiting nearby places is easy. Finally, I have to mention how accommodating, friendly and helpful Ann and Chris were; they answered all our questions and offered plenty of advice on getting around, where best to eat etc. If we visit Praia da Luz again we wouldn’t hesitate to book with them. Very nice villa, great location, helpful friendly owners.

My family and I very much enjoyed staying at Casa Canda. Location:– Excellent - about 5 minutes wander from the waterfront promenade, beach and restaurants. Directly across the road from a small but very good supermarket with all you could need plus coffee/icecream shop. Villa: Very nice, good size rooms, plenty of space and cupboards etc. Nice and clean on arrival and cleaner popped in twice a week changing sheets mid stay. Fully equipped kitchen with everything you could need bar food ! Beds in twin room very good. My partner and I did find the master bedroom double rather soft, it might be that mattress has seen better days, I did actually choose to sleep on one of the fold out sofa chairs for most of the holiday in the end, which was fine and I slept well, leaving her to sleep better. Pool: excellent, clean, pool guy popped by every few days and tested, topped up etc. Bridge showing a little aging now, one plank coming loose but perfectly fine for fooling about with the kids ! Other: – parking great, nice to have an external tap on driveway for rinsing sandy feet etc , good wifi throughout, good selection of TV channels on a 32” TV on wall (better than pics shown), dryer to hang washing on, nice table and chairs on balcony and loungers on pool patio. Luz itself has a nice beach, great watersports hire (kids loved it), nice full range of restaurants with great food at decent prices. Lagos 10 mins, water parks 30, airport ~1hr. Communication: Chris and Ann were very quick in all communications, very helpful information both before departure and at the villa too. We may be tempted to return!

We are a family whose children grew up holidaying in Luz. From our first visit we were hooked and bought Casa Canda after our second holiday in Luz. Our grandchildren are now following suit and love every visit.

Why they chose this property

Casa Canda is a freehold private cottage, in a small terrace of cottages. It is centrally located within the seaside village of Luz and very close to all amenities. It has sea views and is set only 200m back from the main beach and promenade. Baptista's Supermarket - fully provisioned - is close at hand, and so too are many restaurants. Its an area which is ideal for families, couples, singles.

What makes this property unique

In so far as we are aware, Casa Canda is the only 2 bedroomed villa, in Luz, to have its own private swimming pool.
