Perfect base

Excellent base for a 2 week break in the Highlands. The property had everything required for self-catering. We were also able to use the owner's garage to store our mountain bikes. Would definitely recommend the property for anyone who wants to get away from it all.

A perfect location for a highland holiday

The cottage was extremely clean, warm and cosy. It was equiped with everything you could possibly need and was very pleasantly furnished and spacious. The outside area was wonderful and despite the cold and damp weather, it was a joy to watch the birds in the garden enjoying the well-filled feeders everyday. The location was great for exploring the whole of the Great Glen with so many places to visit, but was also quiet for restoring mind and spirit in the beautiful tranquillity of the Scottish mountains.

A Hidden Gem.

The cottage is close to the bottom end of Lock Ness and is tucked away just off the main road. The property is deceivingly spacious and fairly comfortable. We enjoyed our stay and would happily return.

Gorgeous accommodation in stunning surroundings,

The photos in the advert do not do this property justice, the interior is like a tardis and much larger and spacious with everything you need on hand, comfy beds and cosy lounge where the birds and wildlife are absolutely stunning to watch, great location with Loch ness up the road one way with easy access to Fort Augustus and Fort William or Inverness then a stunning scenic drive the other way to the Isle of skye and surrounding areas. The owners were very polite and welcoming with lots of great advise etc about the area, they live immediately next door but you would never know as the accommodation is very quiet and private. Myself and my partner and our 9 year old daughter along with our 2 dogs were made very welcome and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Great break

Th property had everything you need for a relaxing break. The property was in a small group of houses and was semi detached in a beautiful location. It was warm and comfortable and the hosts were very unobtrusive. There was a lot of lovely walks nearby and two fab cafes, one about 100 yards away and one in the village itself. Both were fab. We had our dogs with us and enjoyed it very much.

Perfect getaway

If you are looking for somewhere to get away from the hustle & bustle of city living, this is exactly what you are looking for. Accommodation was just as described, Jill & Tony are very approachable & whilst they live next door you do not feel they are keeping watch. Only disappointment was the unreliability on the wi-fi.

Quiet and peaceful

The Linhay is a well appointed property set in a quiet location in the lovely Glen Moriston. It's a good base for the Great Glen, Inverness and the east coast as well as the west coast (Fort William, Mallaig and Kyle of Lochalsh) and Skye. We have never minded distances and low traffic volumes in October make every journey stress free.

Clean, Comfortable & Quite

The Bungalow is in a lovely location, with 3 lovely walks a short way down the road, although the car park to them is now closed 28/08/21 for 52 weeks, watch out for the feral pigs & ticks if you’re taking a dog. The Bungalow is off a short lane & could perhaps do with a sign at the Linhays drive entrance as there's a number of properties all within the small area to make finding the Linhay a little easier. The hosts (Jill & Tony) live in the adjoined bungalow their front door & kitchen overlooks the entrance to Linhay but they were not intrusive at all & very welcoming. The bird life in the rear garden were lovely to watch with full bird feeders put out by the hosts makes a lovely sight on a morning to watch, the garden is clean & tidy and lovely place to sit out, could maybe do with a parasol to escape the sun on an afternoon to go along with table & chairs already provided, one word of caution MIDGIES in their 1000s outside both doors as is most of the Highlands so beware LOL. There’s a café at the entrance that provides nice food nothing too special, we got ripped off by them we feel but there’s a different story and in no way impacts on Linhay. There’s a number of places to eat approx. 15 miles in each direction that can be a little expensive, its worth a trip into Fort Augustus where the variety of foods is much better and somewhat better value. Overall Great hosts, great location, great accommodation no hesitation in recommending the Linhay.

Perfect Escape

We had a wonderful stay at this clean and well appointed cottage, in a quiet location. This was a perfect spot for a family holiday as we were within driving distance of many of the Highland’s best spots. Highlights for us were a day hiking in Skye, spotting the dolphins at Chanonry Point, and Steall Falls. The cottage had everything we needed for a comfortable self catering holiday, and our youngest made fast friends with the dog at the local cafe and the highland cows across the road. The bird feeders in the garden attract lots of visitors, and we were lucky with the weather too! Our hosts were helpful and everything was just as described. Highly recommend, and would love to return.

Beautiful Highlands

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Lin Hey, Glen Moriston., and the Red Burn Cafe was a great bonus. Really nice food on the dooestep if we didn't fancy cooking. Jill and Tony made themselves available should we need them but everything was to hand and the scenery was beautiful topped with lovely weather so all went well.

Beautiful

We have recently just returned from 5 nights in this lovely property. It was perfect for what we needed to explore the local surroundings. The hosts are very friendly and on our morning we were departing Tony asked if my boy wanted some model planes to play with. What a lovely gesture and one my boy will remember for a long time. Thoroughly recommend this property if looking for a peaceful getaway.

Lovely get away!

Was a wonderful safe visit during covid times. Setup was perfect. House had nice homey touches. Loved that there were board games, dvds and books. Redburn cafe was another little treat and the owners were very helpful and friendly. Kids loved feeding the highland cows!
