A lovely property in stunning surroundings, it's a well presented property with everything you need for a comfortable and cosy stay, we only stayed a couple off nights but will definitely book again for a longer stay.
We loved our stay here, the bed was super comfy and the living space is really cosy. We loved watching the pheasants, doves, sheep and horses from the windows. Such a beautiful peaceful spot
A well equipped, comfortable bothy in an idyllic location. We would definitely recommend doing the walk to Aysgarth Falls following the public foot paths. We would definitely visit again.
Plus points…clean cottage, beautiful setting, comfortable bed and many walks from the doorstep.
Constructive criticism…Property parking place well indicated, however the entrance to the cottage less so. Some signage would be useful. A pint of milk in the fridge would have been good , however there was nothing by way of a welcome. The garden needs some tlc. There was a bench from where there is a probably a beautiful view, however we couldn’t reach it as it it was so overgrown with nettles.
These are small niggles. Don’t let them put you off.
We liked the location peaceful and quiet nice walks along the river good food at the local pub the accommodation was nice and comfortable all in all a very nice stay .

Disappointing
We were looking forward to a short stay in Yorkshire. we thought that the property that we had booked would be ideal but we were disappointed from the first time we stepped in the door of the property.
The pictures were obviously taken at the start of the letting tenure and when when they were taken the property was probably very nice. Unfortunately, there seems to have been little time or effort spent on upkeep.
The kitchen utensils and appliances were dirty, the shower in the bathroom was mouldy all the way round the bath and in the bedroom when we moved cushions there was considerable mould on the window sill. Other matters would also lead us to believe it needs attention.
It is a shame because the owner is pleasant and the property in a good location and could be so much better presented.
We absolutely loved the Bothy, it was cosy, intimate and secluded. With a well stocked kitchen it was easy to prepare our own meals. The water for the bath was lovely and hot and the bed so comfortable. The farm is set in beautiful tranquil surroundings with lovely walks both ways out of the back door. The night skies were wonderful with no light pollution. Overall a wonderful, relaxing experience.
A fantastic trip to a beautiful area. The bed was super comfy and The Bothy had everything you could want. Cozy place right next to a stunning river. Would highly recommend.
We had a fantastic stay at the Bothy. It's very comfortable and cosy, with everything we needed. The location is wonderful and we really enjoyed a good walk around Wensleydale. Thanks Juliet.
This was booked for surprise gift for daughter and husband. Communication with Juliet was excellent and they had a restful break in a beautiful setting. Hope to go there myself one day!
Just back home after a very refreshing couple of nights in the lovely bothy conversion on a working farm. Wonderful hosts, running rivers through a private woodland and a gloriously appointed kitchen and the bed was as sumptuous as anywhere!
Lovely 5 night stay in a cosy, comfortable bothy in a super setting. A very warm welcome from Juliet and her family. Ideal location for local walks or travelling a bit further. So many places to visit that our stay wasn't long enough!! Many thanks
My husband and I had a lovely break at Juliet’s cottage. The cottage is in a beautiful location, with stunning views and walks on the doorstep.
The cottage is beautifully furnished, clean and cosy with everything you need for your break away.
Juliet, the owner, was very welcoming and friendly and got back quickly and efficiently to any queries we had.
I would recommend this cottage as the perfect place to stay for a relaxing break in lovely surroundings.
This place is perfect to get away from busy life and experience nature at its best.
A short but interesting walk to Aysgarth Falls and back before heading back to a log fire and cosy night in with all the facilities needed to cater for yourself.
Beamed ceilings are not for the very tall but give this place amazing character. I would recommend to stay here.

I was born in Wensleydale and my ancestors have been living here for several generations. I am mother of three boys and one girl. It is wonderful that my husband and I have been able to bring our children up in such an unspoilt place. We would love to share this special place and give you a base to explore. We have experienced the beauty of the dales by walking, riding, fishing and canoeing.
Why they chose this property
The Bothy has its own entrance from the woodland garden. The Bothy forms the end of a converted set of traditional buildings .It is on a farm that is now our family home. This is a very traditional hill farm. Virtually unmechanised with its wildflower meadows intact. We have pedigree Jacob sheep and Dexters . Visitors can order meat from the farm if wanted. The farm has 40 acres with wonderful views of the hills, moors and River Ure.
Its unspoilt setting is a wildlife haven. A great to place to unwind away from the busyness of life.
Despite being deep in the countryside, it is very easy to access by car with the A684 nearby. It also has good wifi due to a recent upgrade which is an extra benefit as some Dales properties don't.
A timeless place where every season has a beauty of its own.
What makes this property unique
People staying in the Bothy have many opportunities to relax and unwind in the comfortable surroundings. Having the best of traditional luxuries and modern conveniences.
There are numerous things to do in the area. Including visits to traditional villages, buzzing market towns, golf courses and local attractions. Explore the stunning dales by foot, wheel, horse or bike. Excellent fishing is available in river behind.
Wensleydale has delcious food available; whether gourmet or fantastic pub meals.
Our hope is that you will leave, agreeing with all previous guests that a few very special days are had at the Bothy.
