Exceptional Everything!!!

Arriving after dark Ann met car. The house was just what I needed. Delicious Apple crisp, waiting. Ann was available for any need! The home was peaceful, having a wood stove, quiet surroundings, walking trails, perfection. Books to read topped it off.

A Perfect Getaway Near Doolin

Our stay at this holiday home was nothing short of spectacular. The house itself is incredibly spacious and tastefully furnished, providing a comfortable and inviting atmosphere. The breathtaking sea views and the stunning vistas from the gallery were simply unforgettable. The location, while a bit secluded, offers the ultimate in peace and tranquility. We cherished the serene environment, far from the hustle and bustle, making it the perfect retreat. One of the highlights of our stay was enjoying dinner on the terrace at sunset – an experience that was truly magical. To top it all off, we were warmly welcomed by the exceptionally friendly host, Ann, who greeted us with a fantastic homemade apple pie upon our arrival. This thoughtful gesture made us feel right at home. We highly recommend this property for anyone looking to experience the beauty and tranquility of the Irish countryside near Doolin. Wonderful time in wonderful house

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and felt very much at home in Ann's spacious and very comfortable house. Ann baked us a really delicious apple pie and yes, we now have the recipe! Many thanks for that! We will miss the gallery overlooking the sea and the sunset. The area around Doolin is also really beautiful, with the Cliffs Of Moher, the Aran Islands, the Burren, and Lahinch Beach with great waves for swimming and surfing. Absolutely recommendable!

Great location and fabulous house

big open floorplan with lots of light, great neighbours ( a bull, 3 cows and 6 calves) and a super central location to explore. Everything was exactly as described and Ann was a charm to work with.

Beautiful Days at Gorsehill

Gorsehill house lived up to our expectations! The property was everything we expected given the pictures and descriptions. Terrific property with plenty of space to stretch and relax when chilly and drizzly, convenient for us to get around County Clare to the places we wanted to go, and what fun sitting in the back yard looking out toward the ocean listening to the on property stream gurgle in the background. Convenient corner grocery and gas about 2km away was tremendous for ease of topping off groceries without needing to drive a longer distance into nearby villages. We hiked from Doolin along the cliff edge path to the Cliffs of Moher visitor center, and back, about 6 hours roundtrip walking, amazing views! Other highlights were fun relaxed horse trail ride from Mountain View Horse Centre, took ferry to explore Inis Oirr (Aran Islands), and walked around The Burren. Definitely recommend this property for exploring County Clare, Doolin, The Burren, and Cliffs of Moher.

Wonderful Host and Gorgeous cottage

We had a truly delightful stay at Gorsehill in Doolin. We were greeted with a delicious homemade apple pie and essentials in the fridge. Cottage was perfect for an extended family, lots of different areas to hang out in and great access to the town. Host -Ann couldn’t have been more helpful. Would highly recommend.

Schönes, großes Haus in toller Lage

Home away from home

Perfect host, perfect home. A great base from which to explore the area. Cliffs of Mohr, Limerick, Galway, Knock shrine, Ennis, The Burren, Aran Islands tour, etc are easy day trips. Good local pubs and restaurants nearby, and a warm cozy house and grounds in a setting just enough off of the tourist roadways to have quiet and privacy as the day winds down. Can’t ask for much else.

Airy, warm and inviting

Ann is a wonderful host - providing more than we would have expected including a fresh warm apple pie. The house is charming and easily accessible to Doolin. There are lots of sweet cozy places to read inside on a rainy day and since it’s so close to town, you can pop in and back quickly. I would say the listing doesn’t do it justice. We would definitely stay there again and highly recommend it.

Lovely home in beautiful County Clare

We regularly rent homes on the west coast and this is a wonderful location to visit the Cliffs of Moher and the Aran Islands. Doolin is a delightful village about a 30 minute picturesque and easy walk on the “safer” route; half that on a busier road. The house was well-equipped and spacious, and charmingly decorated. The master bedroom and ensuite is particularly lovely.

Perfect location for our visit to Ireland

Hospitality is Ann's forte for sure. After traveling from the USA we received a warm welcome, easy check-in, a homemade apple tart, and refreshments to get our stay off to a great start. The house was our base camp for 10 days while we explored the Wild Atlantic Way and our family history. This beautiful property will not disappoint anyone considering it.

Gorsehill

The house is very comfortable in every possible way and the owner has kindly included many extra touches to make you feel welcome! The garden is beautiful with options to relax outdoors or in a lovely covered area if raining! The location is superb for exploring Co. Clare. You will enjoy a very relaxing holiday at Gorsehill. The booking process was tricky as my search was picked up by VRBO USA and VRBO UK and there were price differences. It would be useful if people booking from Ireland could pay in Euros.

We had a warm welcome by Ann on arrival. There was a lovely apple pie and groceries provided . Excellent location for visiting County Clare. Would highly recommend Gorsehill for anyone wanting to stay in Doolin.

Tolles, rundum vielfältig ausgestattetes Feriensdomizil. geführt von einer großzügigen Gastgeberin

Wir waren von Anfang an beeindruckt von dem Zuschnitt und der Großzügigkeit des Ferienhauses, der Ausstattung und den Möglichkeiten, die das schön angelegte Grunstück bietet. Unser Check-in-Termin verzögerte sich wegen Staus um zwei Stunden, aber auch das war für Ann kein Problem. Zu unserer Überraschung war der Kühlschrank mit wichtigen Lebensmitteln gefüllt, Anns Apple Pie verdient den Titel "All Irish Champion"! Wir verbrachten unsere Ferienwoche in Doolin mit vielfältigen Aktivitäten - und fast abendlichen Besuchen in den Musikpubs des Dorfes. Anders als in anderen Ferienhäusern in Irland gab es keine Extrakosten für die Endreinigung und für den Energieverbrauch. Wir waren rundherum von unserem Auufenthalt in Anns Haus begeistert.

Beautiful and peaceful!

Beautiful and comfortable home, perfect base for exploring the area. House is on a quiet road, we took sunset walks overlooking the sea and farms. Gorgeous views of the countryside. Very close to Doolin, Doolin trail to the cliffs of moher, wonderful pubs in Doolin. Host was amazing. Everything we needed for cooking, even a fresh apple pie and groceries provided for us. I have stayed in many vacation homes and this was one of the best! Highly recommend!

Excellent house with a view

We stayed for a week in Anne's beautiful country house. Everything was exactly as described, even the delicous apple cake! We walked the cliff path up to the Cliffs of Moher and played the Doolin Pitch&Put 3 times. Highly recommendable.

Absoluter Traumurlaub!

Das Haus hat eine atemberaubende Lage mit Blick auf den Atlantik und die Aran Islands, es ist sehr stilvoll und gemütlich eingerichtet. Die Küche ist perfekt ausgestattet (einschließlich eines frisch gefüllten Kühlschrankes!). Ann ist eine tolle, unkomplizierte und sehr hilfsbereite Gastgeberin - wir wurden sehr herzlich mit einem (dem weltbesten!) selbstgebackenen Apple Pie empfangen. Es war eine wunderbare Woche in Doolin und wir können Ann und ihr Haus absolut weiterempfehlen!

I grew up in this area and I built this house in 2006 because I loved the site and remember visiting it when I was a kid
I love to go for walks towards Doonagore Castle down to Doolin beach to watch the sunset or along the coast walkway to Cliffs of Moher.
