About this property

Secluded Villa With Large Fabulous Pool And Grounds

The hillside villa has fabulous views and plenty of space, with easy access to the French Riviera and Provence.
During July and August we rent from Saturday to Saturday. Please note that for stays shorter than seven days we add a fee of 300 euros to prepare the house.
The house has its own large swimming pool with loungers and umbrellas on the deck. It has four double bedrooms (two en-suite) and a single bedroom.
Serendipity has a large kitchen, two living rooms and a tiled, sheltered dining terrace. There is both a gas grill/BBQ and a wood outdoor bread/pizza oven as well as a full kitchen inside.
It has wireless internet and a smart TV.
There is a boule area, olive trees and plenty of private parking inside the grounds.
The village of Figanieres -- a five minute drive or 30 minute walk -- has narrow streets and an old church. The region is full of wonderful villages, where rural life is thriving. The centre of village life is the (child friendly) bar and restaurant. There are also great pastry / bread shops, smaller grocery stores, a post office, a natural spring with the best water you have ever tasted and a tourist information centre. A ten minute walk from the house across the vineyards is the nearest wineries, where the excellent local rose may be stolen for 8 Euros a bottle. On a clear day you can see the Mediterranean from the village.

Excellent villa

We stayed at the property for a week at the end of August 2024. We did get lost on the way there (completely out fault for putting the wrong address in the SatNav!) and the property manager drove us directly there which was a huge help with 8 of us after a long day of travelling! The house is a great size and the beds were very comfortable. My partner did have an incident with the hot water tap in the shower (it's very hot!) but we learnt to put the cold tap on first before the hot! The pool is absolutely divine! The sloped entrance was ideal for our smallest (5 years) and the surrounding gates were great. The kitchen is very well stocked with plastic and pot crockery, serving dishes, bread baskets etc, there was everything we needed there and more, coffee machine, microwave, oven, BBQ, all very good condition and clean! The location is excellent and we didn't have issues finding out way around. I would not hesitate to recommend.

Our group was 4 adults and 2 children and we had a lovely holiday in the villa. The large swimming pool was great and was particularly enjoyed by the children. We also loved the peaceful surroundings, the terrace for dining outside in the evenings and the nearby picturesque village of Figanieres. The villa was well equipped with everything we needed and when we did on one occasion have a problem with the oven, Philippe kindly sorted it out very quickly. We all wished we could have stayed for another week!

Lovely traditional villa in a private & peaceful setting

A substantial property with plenty of public space. The outdoor areas, especially around the pool ensure that you get sun all day long - the pool is newly refurbished and spotless. great location for visiting nearby villages with Draguignan less than 10 mins by car. The décor and finishes are a little aged but that's personal style point and everything worked as it should. Special thanks to Geraldine & Philippe for doing everything to make us feel welcome.

Vi har haft en fantastisk ferie i huset. Poolen er fantastisk og ungerne brugt meget tid der. Selvom det var meget varmt mens vi var der var det ikke et problem i huset og om natten . Kan varmt anbefale stedet.

A taste of paradise

The villa is superbly set in the secluded area of Saint Catherine which guarantees a relaxed and peaceful holiday. The house itself is spacious, tastefully decorated in the classic provençal style and very well equipped. We especially loved the terrace and barbecue in the evenings after a day by the pool. Many thanks to the owners Mark and Emma and to the wonderful locals (Catherine, Philippe and Géraldine) who did everything they could to make our stay a success. Merci beaucoup et à bientôt!

Fabulous Family Holiday

Plenty of room inside and out for 10 guests, good size pool and everything we needed for a great weeks stay. Lots of pretty little villages close by and the coast within an hours drive. We had a mixture of exploring the area and staying around the pool. All in all it was a great property in a great location, would definitely recommend.

Perfect spot for some relaxing family time ...

We stayed with our four grown up children, all having managed to get some time off together, and enjoyed a fabulous, relaxing time in each other's company. The house was perfect for us: plenty of room for all of us to be together yet still have some space. We went in February so it clearly wasn't going to be a poolside holiday, but we enjoyed breakfast in warm sunshine on the terrace most mornings which was lovely. We loved shopping in the local shops and markets, then cooking in the well-equipped kitchen; watching films, playing cards and just chatting around the wood-burning stove; excursions up to the magnificent Verdon Gorge and beautiful villages in the area, as well as to the coast. The Musee de l'Annonciade in St Tropez has a small but fascinating collection of 20th Century avant-garde painting. All in all a great holiday in a beautiful part of the world and a house that suited us perfectly.

Wonderful relaxing family holiday with a toddler

This villa is beautiful, spacious and very private. We had a wonderful time! The beds are comfortable and everything works. Something you don't get in every villa! My daughter had only just started walking, but her falling over was nothing to worry about in the villa. We slept in the downstairs bedroom and there was a stair gate to stop her going upstairs. We could easily move the furniture on the terrace to make it safe from steps and when she was in the garden, she couldn't get to the pool because of the gate. It's a secluded villa, off the beaten track, but it's also in a great location if you want to drive to some of the sights that the South of France has to offer. Figanières is a lovely, friendly little town with no signs of tourism. I loved walking into the town every day through vineyards to buy fresh bread. I managed to get by with my awful French and people just seemed grateful for my effort. We went out for several lunches to some great restaurants nearby. There's also plenty of vineyards to choose from within a short drive. Wine tasting is A LOT OF FUN! I shall definitely be going back.

Fantastic villa. Kids loved it.

We had a great family holiday here. The villa is really comfortable and had everything we needed. It’s situated in a beautiful yet quiet part of the French countryside. Despite the seclusion, it doesn’t feel too far from civilisation and is an easy drive to the coast with St Maxime, Cannes and Nice a relatively short drive away. The kids loved spending time in the pool which kept them occupied whilst we relaxed. Figanières is a typical French town and very friendly. The owners rep met us at the house, let us in, showed us round and was on hand to help throughout the time we were there. The Côte d’Azur is a fantastic holiday destination and we loved it. The house was a great base from which to explore the area and a beautiful place to return to and relax.

We had a wonderful holiday at Villa Serendipity in July

The Villa is spacious and family friendly. Terrific infinity pool with a walk in shallow end that was great for the small children. Wonderful views all around, from the villa or down at the pool. We visited a couple of the vineyards close by they were good fun. Went to the market and had lovely lunches in the surrounding villages. Overall the Villa Serendipity exceeded expectations. Thank you, we will certainly look you up next time we are in the area. Regards

Great villa in a great location with lovely views

What a lovely villa!! Quiet location with great views across the hills. It has all the facilities to comfortably house two families. The pool was large enough and deep enough for the elder family members, yet has a slope for the younger members to be in the water safely too. The BBQ was located to take in the views of the hills whilst being able to keep an eye on the pool area too. Kitchen was large and very well stocked. The living areas of the villa are large and comfortable, but we hardly used them as the outdoor space had everything we needed during the day and late into the evening. The bedrooms were great as were the bathroom and en suites. The villa is fenced and gated so kids can be kept safe. Plenty of parking at the front and we liked the carport too, which helped keep the car cool for us. The local villages are within a 5 minute drive where you can sit in a traditional French village setting. But 10 minutes away is also the large town of Draguinan, where there are plenty of supermarkets etc etc. The housekeepers were there to meet us and looked after us very well during our stay, they were very knowledgeable about the area and were keen to offer advise. We really enjoyed this villa and will definelty be coming back at some point in the future.

Fabulous spacious villa

Lovely spacious house with plenty of room for our 2 families to share. Despite the heat we all slept well, really comfortable beds. The highlight of the property is the pool which is fabulous! A great location for exploring - the ferry over to St Tropez and the Gorges du Verdon were highlights. We made good use of the terrace and BBQ for dinners, and also had a lovely meal in the restaurant in Figanieres (Le moulon de mon grand pere). Hope to be back!

All round awesome

The house has all the conveniences of home and then some. WiFi works great. There is a lovely BBQ set up strategically positioned between the pool and the house with fantastic views all round. Two of the bedrooms (both with their own en suite facilities) are located on the ground floor and provide a very private feel away from the rest of the bedrooms that are upstairs. There's lots of patio space both around the house and the infinity poo that allows you to take in the picturesque surroundings. The local vineyard is within easy walking distance and has delicious and very reasonably priced wine especially the rose. The house is clean, charming, comfortable and relaxing. You'll sleep soundly as the beds are great and there's little to disturb you. That said the local town is a short drive away and has everything you would expect if you do feel motivated enough to venture out. Really enjoyed our stay and can't recommend it enough.

Such a beautiful house and location

We had such a nice time. The house and grounds are so spacious that we really felt we were getting away from it all. The double bedroom were a good size and the home is well maintained. The surrounding hillsides and vineyards are charming. It was so fun to explore the local villages. We loved the big deep pool, where we wasted most of our holiday! Thanks so much!

Beautiful

Villa Serendipity was brilliant we were two families which the villa catered for exceptionally well lots of ground space and fantastic pool, which we spent most of our time in (kids). The weather was great so that only enhanced an amazing time. We had never been to the south of France before and absolutely can't wait to go back. The villa was in a excellent location for many destinations, Monaco, St Tropez, Cannes and Waterparks ect. The manager Jaquie looked after us exceptionally well and great for her to be on hand if needed! Cant wait to go back thank you..

Beaux moments dans un endroit calme et reposant

L’arrivée c’est très bien déroulée, les explications ainsi que la flexibilité quand à l’heure d’arriver à été très apprécié. Nous avons beaucoup apprécié la maison, elle était spacieuse et équipé de la bonne manier selon les photos et le descriptif. La propreté laissait un peu perplexe à certain endroit, mais dans l’ensemble était correct. Lors d’un gros orage nous avons été surpris par une infiltration d'eau dans le halle d’entrée avec pour conséquence nos affaires détrempé. La piscine était vraiment bien entretenue! Nous recommandons pleinement cet établissement, mais il devrait être entretenu et le nettoyage (cuisine + WC ) devrait être plus soigné.

En super uge med perfekt pool

Vi havde et fantastisk ophold i huset i uge 31 - lige fra ankomst til afrejse. Vi var 6 voksne og 3 teenager, og huset fungerede rigtig godt - og trods manglende aircondition fornuftig temperatur trods varmt udenfor. Poolen er stor - god at spille i og fungerede rigtig godt med liggestole mv. Beliggenheden fungerede godt for os med daglig gåtur til bageren - ca. en time frem og tilbage. Besøg nærliggende vingård dag 1 - lækker rosevind til billige penge.

A very nice spot with a great pool

We had a very nice and relaxing time - in particular the great pool did help over the quite hot daytime around noon. Great fun for the children and us. The little town Figanières is sweet and pretty, the small bakery there is actually very good. Great service is provided by the very kind Philippe who comes around each morning to take care of the pool - in particular his pizza extraordinary. We are very happy with our choice and would recommend this place warmly.

Great vacation home

We stayed a week with friends and their kids. The house is great and spacious, the location is quiet but close enough to a bakery and supermarket. The pool and poolside are absolutely stunning and worthwhile the visit.

Nous avons passer des vacances de rêve dans cette maison provençale,une petite suggestion purement personnel au gentil propriétaire Mr Yates un petit hamac à l ombre pour faire la sieste entre midi et deux heures,pour le reste ,la piscine ,la maison , le jardin, le barbecue,le four a pizza ,le piano de la cuisine ,et l accueil de Géraldine et Philippe qui prennent soin des vacanciers il n y a aucune fausses notes ,je n imagine pas ne pas retourner dans ce havre de paix ,merci encore et à bientôt je l'espère.

Formidable séjour en famille

Si vous cherchez une maison de vacances où vous pourrez vous détendre entre amis et en famille et profiter de l'autre et de la beauté de la Provence... ne cherchez pas plus loin ! nous avons apprécié cette grande villa pendant 14 jours avec des chambres spacieuses, 3 salles de bains (luxe) une grande cuisine avec tout ce dont vous avez besoin, une belle terrasse avec le soleil du matin mais seulement de l'ombre (idéal) De plus, cette villa dispose d'une piscine fantastique où il c'était bien de se rafraichir... La villa est située dans les belles collines de Provence... se réveiller avec les oiseaux et s'endormir au son des grillons... on ne peut que fortement recommander ce villa!

Erwartungen übertroffen

Meistens sind Bilder aus Prospekten schöner als die Wahrheit. Bei der Villa "Serendipity" wurden die Erwartungen übertroffen. Eine großzügige Villa mit allem ausgestattet was für eine 11-köpfige Familie mit Personen von 11 bis 68 Jahren notwendig ist und einen erholsamen Urlaub garantiert. Wir haben uns zu Hause und von Philippe und Geraldine sehr gut betreut gefühlt. Es gab absolut keine Probleme im Haus und Garten, deswegen konnten wir freundliche Hilfe der beiden leider nicht in Anspruch nehmen. Wir würden gerne wieder in dieser Villa wohnen und können sie wärmstens weiterempfehlen.

Villa Serendipity has the perfect quiet and secluded location tucked in the Provencal foothills, 30 minutes' drive from the French Riviera and an hour from Nice airport.
Thirty minutes drive to the north, you are surrounded by serious mountains -- the gorge at the Parc Natural Regional Du Verdun is world class spectacular. There’s plenty of water sports, hiking and skiing (in winter) in the area.
Serendipity is a spacious, gated home surrounded by vineyards, farmland and woodland offering great views across the valley and the mountains beyond. With a large, secluded private swimming pool, extensive grounds and charming villages all around, many visitors don't stray far.

What makes this property unique

The house is great to host groups such as an artists' retreat and cyclists, particularly those stopping along the EuroVelo 8 Mediterranean Route, which passes close to the property. The nearest winery is a beautiful ten minute walk. The grounds are large enough for epic games of petanque. The pool is significantly larger than most private pools but still accessible to the youngest and oldest because of the shallow sloped area at one end.
