We loved the faded grandeur & the space we had to use. The property owner was very helpful on our checkout day, thank you.
The decoration needs attention in some rooms & instructions for the Aga & dishwasher would be helpful.
Our two night break with 7 friends was a success due to the relaxed set up & the owners flexibility. Thank you so much.
The house is amazing, such a pleasure to stay there and the location is great. Only thing is we had little children and it wasn't obvious from the pictures that theres a spiral staircase to upstairs. But wouldn't hesitate to stay again!
Had a fantastic week at the manor. House was big and catered for our large group brilliantly. Views from the garden were spectacular on the evening.

Liked: Cleanliness, listing accuracy
Disliked: Check-in, communication
Very large house with some unique features.
The space in the house was fantastic especially as our party included teenagers and 4 adults. The garden was peaceful with a lovely view of the sea,it would be even better if it was enclosed.
The kitchen did have some issues: only one oven of the arga worked and the pump broke on our penultimate day, rendering the sink, toilet and dishwasher unusable. There were also no instructions for any appliances in the kitchen which meant we had to work things out for oyrselves.
This is a great house but a little more attention to small details would make it fantastic.
We have just got back and had a lovely time. There is a lovely garden to enjoy when the weather is good with amazing views. The downstairs kitchen area is perfect for all the family to mingle and dine together. There is a bus stop just around the corner that takes you to the harbour or direct to Paignton and comes every 10 minutes which was great for us as we had two small children and two elderly parents with us. When we arrived the host gave us a tour and was quick to respond to anything we needed. I would recommend this house. Having stayed in modern houses for a long time it was nice to stay in something different. You need to appreciate this is done to an old Manor House style and has historical items and gems weaved throughout. It served as a perfect social base for us to see Torquay , Brixham, Babacoombe and Paignton.
The house is spectacular and the views unrivalled. Location wise it was an easy walk into town and about 20 minutes walk to the beach plus it was so easy to get to lots of interesting places with this as our base. We all had a great time, even though it was during the pandemic!
Lovely week with amazing weather. The property suited our family of 10 and dog.

Sherri was a great host and the view from the house was stunning!
The house is clean, very comfortable and provides all necessary amenities. All rooms have beautiful views of the sea. Sherri, the owner, is a great host and very helpful.
We didn’t spend much time in Torquay though and visited towns and beaches which are in short driving distance.

Amazing House!!
There were 8 of us staying here from age 4 through to 50 plus a dog and there was stil so much space. Everything you could need is supplied and Sherri (the owner) couldn’t be more helpful. The house is situated up a hill and has magnificent views. It’s very convenient for Torquay with it being just a few minutes drive down to the sea front. We will definitely be returning.

Absolutely stunning!
The Manor House in Torquay is perfectly situated on a hill with breath taking views over Torquay and the sea. The Manor was everything I had hoped for and so much more! The ambience of the rooms was out of this world with everything in it that we needed to have the most memorable holiday. I would like to commend Colin and Shelley for ensuring everything was just right for us. Would recommend anyone to stay here not just for the surroundings but for the lovely old Manor full of character and class.
Thank you :)
We absolutely loved our stay at this property. The interior design was fabulous with its quirky collections of toys and Art Deco touches. The slightly ‘faded glory’ only added to the appeal for us.
Our group was six adults (the two of us plus our adult children with partners) and the property appealed due to the three large double bedrooms. The two separate lounge areas on the ground floor were great, as was the library come games room. We were fortunate to have some glorious weather so the outside lawn area with a view to the sea was an added bonus.
There were loads of pots, pans and cutlery in the kitchen, plenty of towels and beach towels in the cupboard plus lots of extras you may not expect.
I can’t recommend this property highly enough (as long as you can handle the stairs).

A splendid place for holiday
We had a lovely holiday in Torquay. The rooms were really charming, and it was nice to spend time in the backyard garden watching the sea. We had cars, but the nearest shops and the local train was easily accessible even by foot. We felt that the villa was a good value for money and perfect for sightseeing the attractions of Devon and Cornwall, such as Tintagel and Dartmoor National Park.
