Three Gables is in the center of the rural village of Newbridge yet tucked away at the end of a private drive with ample room for parking 4 or more cars. It is a stylish and comfortable detached house in a quiet location with stunning panoramic country views and a private enclosed garden. Within easy reach of coast, beaches and nearest towns, just step outside for beautiful country walks and cycling routes. It is the perfect base for friends and families wishing to spend time together and enjoy a relaxing break at any time of the year with the micro climate of the island giving weather that is often better than elsewhere in the UK. Patio doors and large windows give a light and airy feel to the house while good insulation and central heating make Three Gables warm and cosy in the the colder months and solar panels provide the hot water in the warmer months while our solar PV helps reduce our carbon foot print and we export our excess energy back into the grid.

The garden is suitable for children, but please be aware the garden is on several levels with flat areas, steps and grass banks, there is a fence to ensure safety, a decked area, a patio and lawns BBQ, outdoor furniture and games are provided.
New for 2023 our summerhouse with garden games or just a place to sit and relax.
The property is not adapted for wheelchairs but is suitable for people with restricted mobility. Access to theproperty includes a step into the house. On the ground floor is an en suite bedroom, the kitchen, lounge, study and separate family bathroom.
There is a shop 2 minutes walk away (open March -Nov). and a pub 1.5 miles. There are easy drives to local towns for shopping and the many tourist attractions around the island.The county town of Newport is only 6 miles away and historic Yarmouth is 3 miles away,
The nearest beach is also 3 miles.
We have secure lockable storage for bikes, sporting equipment etc.
Public Transport – There is a bus service that passes the near the end of the drive from/to Yarmouth ferry or Newport

Fantastic break

Easy to book with excellent communication from the hosts at all times. Facilities were brilliant, I’ve never been in a kitchen whilst away that had EVERYTHING I needed. The main bedroom bed was huge and comfortable. Didn’t make use of the garden or verandah due to the weather, but are planning to return in the summer when it will get a LOT of use! Lovely little welcome pack for the dogs too, with the “I’m on holiday at the gables”tags for them an excellent idea. A good base for exploring the island. Cannot recommend enough.

Perfect property for families to come together

We were thoroughly impressed with the high level of cleaning that had clearly been undertaken prior to our arrival. The Three Gables was equipped above and beyond our expectations and in a lovely peaceful location. It is a beautiful spacious property with large bedrooms for all.

A very clean spacious and well equipped property.

We had wonderful stay at the house. A fantastic base to explore the Island. The house is very well equipped for everything you may need and more! The house is in a great location and has a super view across the IOW countryside. Would thoroughly recommend for anyone looking for a large friends / family getaway.

Great property with everything you need and everything thought of for group holidays.

There were 9 abults and 2 children and we really enjoyed our stay at Three Gables. The garden is great for the children nice and big for them to run around and play in. The house has everything thing you need to enjoy your stay and even extra things thought of like kids plates, bowls etc and nights lights on the stairs. There’s even a great selection of DVDs to keep them entertained. Loads of parking for the cars. Situated in a nice quiet location with great views and to top it all off a nice little greetings hamper we you arrive You definitely recommend a stay and will be looking at booking again for next year.

WONDERFUL BREAK, WITH EVERYTHING TAKEN CARE OF!

We spent a wonderful 5 days at Three Gables. Our party of eight friends and 2 dogs were really comfortable here, Roma was a great host, from the ease of booking to arrival instructions, it was good to be able to phone and discuss the details prior to our booking. We were a group of old friends getting together to catch up and celebrate 2 x 65th birthdays and do some walking even though the weather wasn't always great, Roma recommended some excellent not too muddy walks. The house was spotlessly clean and is very well equipped and we lacked for nothing. The house is very spacious with plenty of room for all of us not to be crowded, it was a great luxury to have 4 bathrooms, the kitchen had everything we needed with a lovely large dinning table for our long chatty meals. The views from the house are beautiful and the garden is secure which was great for our two dogs, we loved the temporary dog tags with the address and contact numbers of Three Gables on them. We all had a fabulous stay here and will have no hesitation in returing one day , planning to come back soon with my children and grandchildren, hopefully with better weather! Thank you for a memorable holiday and thanks for organising the discount ferry tickets too.

Lovely property and very helpful, friendly and hospitable owners - recommend highly

What a wonderful welcome we received from Roma and the house is delightful. My friends and I had a lovely weekend, and wanted for nothing during our stay. I cannot recommend this property more. All the rooms are very comfortable, and the owners are a pleasure to deal with. Thank you, Roma for booking our crossings and for offering to unpack our shopping. Highly recommended.

Gorgeous large cosy house

We had a fabulous weekend here for a joint 30th birthday celebration. Such a cosy house with all the facilities you'd need. We particularly appreciated all the games and books!

Great, well equipped house in beautiful location.

Large house with plenty of space, flexible layout and beautiful country views from the kitchen/diner. Garden is great to relax in and for the kids to play. The house is well equipped with good sized towels, toiletries etc and sharp knives in the kitchen (so many holiday cottages don't!!). The location is perfect, close to Yarmouth ferry and easy enough to access to East end of the island. We would happily return.

Highly recommended!

Just returned from a fantastic stay at Three Gables. A beautifully maintained property with thoughtful touches which made it feel a home from home.Great communication with the friendly owners which made booking very easy. A huge bonus is the garden, a great place for the children to play, have a bbq or star gaze. Highly recommended by all of our group ranging from 1 to 80!

The property was spotless and had all the facilities needed, including some games, DVDs etc. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate in recommending Three Gables. We stayed at the Tree Gables for 7 nights as a group of 11 (8 adults and 3 children), the property is excellent, very homely, bright, clean and spacious. We were greeted on arrival by Roma and Martin, who were very helpful, available to help and gave great advice about the area and travel links. The location is a short drive from Newport and as a result gave us excellent access to the whole island being no more than about 45 minutes from any attraction. The Facilities were excellent, the kitchen is well equipped and lounge and dining areas are comfortable. We enjoyed a lovely relaxing stay and would happily recommend the Three Gables.

From the moment we arrived we felt at home.

What a wonderful welcome we were given, with flowers, fruit & homemade jam. The house was immaculate and very well equipped. The location makes it easy to get around the island and the views are spectacular. The garden is beautiful and enclosed making it perfect for children and dogs. Perfection !

I booked Three Gables for a family get together for my husbands 50th birthday . From the moment I booked Roma the owner was so helpful .. Answering my many questions , recommending great places to eat and arranging ferry tickets . On arrival the house exceeded our expectations . The website is great but in some aspects doesn't do the house justice . The decoration and furnishings are first class as is the garden furniture and ive never stayed in a better equipped property . Roma and Martin are such welcoming hosts providing a stunning fruit bowl and homemade goodies as well as a bottle of cava for my husband ! I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again and will be booking soon for next year !

A 'Gathering of the Clans' family holiday

We are a family of 10 adults 1 baby and 2 toddlers and we stayed at Three Gables for a week and were very comfortable. The house had all the accommodation, furnishings and kitchen equipment necessary to make our stay completely trouble free. We were all able to gather around the dining table for memorable family meals and the open plan nature of the kitchen made food preparation easy. Everything about this house surpassed expectations. Do we have any recommendations for improvements? This holiday house will be hard to beat for a large family gathering, a few more mirrors perhaps? One in each bedroom? Thank you for making this super house available for us to stay in.

Great property for large groups

We stayed with ten people aged 13 to 61 in this surprisingly spacious house. It is extremely well equipped with some of the best kitchen equipment we have ever seen in a holiday rental. Good, secure bike parking was provided in attached garage, so ideal for exploring West Wight. Good Wi-Fi in most of house, with two Smart televisions for viewing films, Netflix, etc. The views from the lounge and kitchen/dining room are superb. Quiet and secluded position. Highly recommended.

Wonderful holiday rental!

A lovely spacious house with fantastic countryside views. We enjoyed a great week with our young family and friends and really could not fault Three Gables - every detail was thought of. The kids enjoyed playing golf and boules in the garden - all provided. If we didn't eat out at one of the many good pubs on the island we enjoyed sitting round the large table together in the evening, having cooked a meal in the well equipped kitchen. My husband is disabled so to have the downstairs bedroom and en- suite shower room was an added bonus. The house is in a lovely spot, quiet and secluded but so easy to get to all the attractions we wanted to visit. We would certainly recommend it to a friend and would love to return.

amazing house!

Have just returned after a wonderful holiday in this wonderful house.The whole family were including three grown up children,and two dogs were given a warm welcome by the owner.There were fresh flowers, a huge bowl of fruit,home made jam and everything to make a hot drink.The house was spotlessly clean,large and very comfortable.The owners non-intrusive but keen to help if asked.The island has everything you could want.This is a truly magical place to go.

A fantastic holiday rental

This was the best holiday rental I have stayed in for some time. Perfectly suited to our group who aged from 17-77. It makes a welcome change for a rental to cater for the amount of people it sleeps - the dining area, seating in the lounge and garden furniture all comfortably cater for a group of 10. The kitchen has anything you could ask for and more. The house is perfectly placed to explore the whole of the island, ample parking. A warm welcome from Roma with the added bonus of a welcome pack. Photos do not do the property justice and none of us wanted to leave. The downstairs bedrooms are situated at either end of the corridor, much better than I had imagined and the study has 2 full size single beds, it doesn't however have any storage space for clothes or a mirror and this would have been a welcome bonus. We had 2 teenage boys in this room so not so much of a problem for us but 2 adults may have needed a few creature comforts. There are some fantastic pubs around the area for eating out and Compton Bay is a must. This is our 3rd trip to IOW and we still haven't done everything we wanted to do. If I get the opportunity to return I will certainly look at this house again. Everything was clean, comfortable and finished to the highest standard - we are quite a fussy group! Would certainly recommend this property.

Ideal in may ways

We stayed at Three Gables with our extended family for a week at the beginning of April and had a great time. The accommodation suited us ideally as each of the bedrooms was well located both for privacy and convenience to bathrooms and toilets. The kitchen and living room are just right for their purpose and give ample opportunity to spread out into the garden. A lot of thought has gone into the layout of this house and it is both airy and yet cozy. The village is quiet and the garden peaceful and not overlooked and there are local buses close by. Hope you enjoy this location as much as we did.

Both myself and my husband Martin are born and bred Islanders and although we've spent considerable time living away we have always been drawn home and for some years now we have been living permanently on the Island. For nearly 30 years we have worked together building boats, making furniture and renovating houses

Why they chose this property

Three Gables present day role as a holiday let is a recent one as for most of its life it has been a family home. Built by my father some 40 odd years ago as his ideal house to retire to, my parents spent more than 30 years of happy retirement there. We were no strangers to the place though as the land had once belonged to my Grandparents and my mother had been brought up in a long since demolished cottage that stood much nearer the road than the present day house.
The house came to myself and my wife Roma in 2002 and over 10 years we've undertaken an extensive renovation of both the house and the garden and have been holiday letting since 2013

What makes this property unique

The renovation has been done in a way that reflects our interest in sustainable living such as the use of recycled materials, installing a high level of insulation to the walls,floors and roof of the house and fitting solar panels which heat more than 50% of the hot water used annually in the house. Three Gables is a much loved home, it is large and spacious, far too big for the two of us now so we are very happy for our holiday guests to enjoy the space, light and views whilst we live close by in a smaller cottage on the same piece of land.
