Castaways es una fantástica casa rural situada a solo 60 metros de la playa de arena con bandera azul en el pueblo de Porthtowan, en la pintoresca y accidentada costa norte de Cornwall. Equipada con un estándar muy alto, la cabaña disfruta de vistas al mar, dunas de arena y acantilados. Disponible todo el año, la cabaña es una base ideal para la playa, caminar, surfear y recorrer Cornwall. Estacionamiento fuera de carretera y jardín seguro. Nuevos muebles en 2018 y una nueva cocina en 2019.

Superb house and location!

The property exceeded expectations. The furniture was nice, modern, new. The house was in good condition and appeared recently decorated. It felt so special to go onto the beach for coffee each morning.

Fabulous location right by a fabulous beach!

We loved our stay at Castaways. The location was perfect for us as with 3 teenage kids they just wanted to body board and be on the beach. Fantastic life guarded beach. Lovely little village, amazing restaurant/bar which met all our family’s needs just across the sand. A perfect week in Porthtowan. We’ll be back! x

The beach felt closer than 60m.

Good stay the facilities excellent- don’t forget to bring your own towels though! The posh dyson useful given the amount of sand. Would recommend

Almost perfect

Great house in a lovely location, but beds are not good. Such a shame to be uncomfortable at night. Please spend more on your mattresses and change them more often. Also no hanging space in the master bedroom.

Location, Location, Location

Could not fault the location, the living space, crockery, cookware and the excellent shower. Double bed comfortable but seemed rather small. Disappointed there was less than half a toilet roll left and no bin bags available. The fridge and sofas were showing signs of wear and after the summer the house needed a deep clean. But would return because of the quiet spot.

Castaways 2022

Great position next to the beach. Close to shop/PO and an excellent chippie. Able to relax together inside or in the garden, or walk across to the pub. We did travel about too, to St Agnes and Perranporth - both within easy reach - and to the Victory Inn 1/2 mile away, but the home beach is a huge asset and not too crowded as others may be.

Fab beach Sid holiday

Perfectly located by the beach this lovely cottage was perfect for a holiday. It had all we needed to make our stay comfortable and porthtown is a lovely. The cottage is right on the edge of the beach and a 1 minute walk from the pub which serves lovely food. We had a lovely week's holiday, thank you

Excellent location for walks and beach time.

Just the ticket. We didn’t want an over crowded location. This was ideal for walks on the coast. The property had everything we needed.

Perfect location, lovely house.

Wonderful property in a quaint little village. As the photo’s show, this is pretty much a beachside location. It was perfect for us (2 x adults & 1 x toddler) with plenty of space. Great spot to stay and wake up to the waves. We found it handy to head out in any direction in the car with Porthtowan being in between Newquay & St. Ives. No phone signal (which I loved) so wifi for everything. Hope to return at some point.

Idyllic spot for a relaxing break

What a wonderful place! Perfect position next to the beach. Lovely place with everything you need to enjoy self catering. This is a home from home which makes you relaxed as soon as you move in. Porthtowan has everything you need as long as you want lovely beach and walks with the dog as well as the clean sea which is looked after by the RLNI. We wish we had booked two weeks instead of only one. We plan to return soon.

Gorgeous location

We had a lovely family stay at Castaways. The accommodation was just right for a family of 5, well furnished in a simple tasteful style, with a well equipped kitchen. The location was fabulous for us, right on the beach so we were able to pop to and from the beach with no fuss. The atmosphere in Porthtowan is laid back with some good places to eat and drink and well stocked little shops. If you enjoy a beach holiday you'll be hard pushed to do better. We shall come back! Location, location, location

We stayed during the Summer holidays, and couldn't fault the house for being exactly as described. We're a family of 5 with a dog, so at times the kitchen felt a little tight, but overall, the house was nicely decorated and furnished. And if you want to be by the beach, you can't get much closer than this. The hosts were really lovely too, very good at communicating / responding although the only issue we had was one that we created ourselves!! The town (more of a Village) is lovely, it has a great vibe to it, very chilled and just fully of lovely people. A couple of great places for food and amazing fish and chips. Some beautiful walks and plenty of surf too. Very happy to recommend the house and Porthtowan and we'll definitely return. Thank you James and Sally :-)

We first stayed in Castaways in 2004, bought it in 2007 and have had many very happy family holidays. Our children have grown up on the beach and have progressed from playing in the shallows to surfing. We love the walks along the coast, the wonderful Blue Flag beach and watching the sea from house.
