Situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty in the Wye Valley and on the edge of The Royal Forest of Dean, The Studio is perfect for a long weekend break or extended holiday. The accommodation is stone built, modernised to a high standard with character and comfort. The studio is set the grounds of The Cart House courtyard and has its own pretty, well furnished patio area directly in front with bbq. The accommodation comprises bedroom/living area with king sized bed, 2 seater settee, small table for dining and flat screen tv with sky free view. There is a separate shower room and kitchen with breakfast bar. The formal gardens surrounding the house are in a walled courtyard. You can relax and unwind here, take in some walks or take advantage of the many local attractions within easy reach.

Absolutely amazing such a lovely property and host

Relaxing

Absolutely stunning property and garden. So quiet and peaceful, felt like we had a good rest. There isn’t a conventional cooker or oven and the bed was a tad hard for us, but that would not put us off from staying again. It’s a stone throw away from a lovey local pub and shop and many lovely walks. The views around are just stunning. If you are a foodie then Tudor Farmhouse restaurant is a must. Thank you so much for the generous provisions, we had such a lovely wedding anniversary.

Wonderful stay

The studio is lovely, really comfortable and very well equipped. It was central for visiting various parts of the Forest of Dean. The hosts were delightful and helpful. We would certainly want to stay there again if visiting the area.

Would stay again

Lovely property, our first visit to the area since 1996. Decent food at the pub and a great area to discover if you can cope with the hills. We had a comfortable stay and learnt how to use an air fryer. Thanks go to our hosts for making us welcome.

Great location, superb accommodation

Lovely stay in a very well equipped and beautiful property

Wonderful studio near forest of dean

The studio was very lovely to stay at and located about an hour away from Cardiff. Lots of greenery and nice walks in the area as well. Helen and Neil are very friendly hosts, I would recommend staying here! If we ever get back to this region, we’d probably stay here again!

Peaceful location

Open plan bedroom and sitting area. Very comfortable king size bed. Shared small garden for sitting in. Friendly, helpful owners. Perfect place to stay for walking the beautiful countryside. Village shop for provisions. Tea,coffee and milk supplied and towels/bed linen. Highly recommended.

Lovely stay in beautiful setting

We loved our short stay at the studio. The studio has everything you need Helen has thought of lots of nice touches such as phone chargers, speaker, maps, shampoo etc. We really appreciated the milk, tea and coffee provided thank you. The location is perfect for visiting the local area and it is so peaceful.

We had a lovely stay at the property. The studio was very clean & tidy and had everything we needed for our stay. We were also enjoying the small garden at the front. The location was perfect. We would definitely recommend it!

Peaceful and relaxing

Great base to explore the area. The studio is very well presented and has everything you need for a short stay. We appreciated having the option of adding mattress toppers to the bed. We particularly enjoyed relaxing in the garden, so peaceful. Located in a lovely village. We enjoyed a meal and entertainment at the pub. There's a great local shop with a really friendly lady who makes fantastic bacon baps.

Perfect weekend bolthole

The property is really well presented with everything you need for a few nights away. The outside area is beautiful with comfy furniture and a carefully planted hedge to ensure privacy. Inside the studio is really well laid out with a large bed and sofa plus a small table and chairs. We ate in the local pub ( just a 2 min stroll through the churchyard) so didn't really do any cooking. There is an airfryer and BBQ provided and plenty of kitchen equipment should you choose to cater for yourself. The location is excellent too. Many places to visit within an easy drive. The weather was beautiful during our stay so we spent lots of time making use of the outside space that comes with the studio. The owners, Helen and Neil, are really lovely and made us feel so welcome. They live next door in the beautifully converted Cart House and they were the perfect hosts. We absolutely loved staying here for the weekend and are already planning our return visit.

Perfect !

Just had a night at this lovely little studio apartment. Absolutely delightful with everything you could possibly want. Lovely underfloor heating. A gorgeous part of the country with lots of lovely walks and a fab local pub. Highly recommended.

My husband, Neil, and I renovated The Cart House and The Studio from derelict buildings in 2010. We loved the location and character of the buildings and walled courtyard. We have spent many happy years living in this beautiful area and are constantly exploring new walks to do in the Wye Valley and Forest of Dean.

You have a pretty, well furnished patio in front of the studio overlooking the courtyard garden and water feature where you can relax and enjoy a bbq.
