Wonderful stay and gracious hosts
We enjoyed a wonderful week at Denise and Pete’s home in Vermont. It’s a sleepy little area on lake Champlain and we loved how restful it was. We had a rental canoe delivered to the house and were able to paddle around and fish just in front of the house. The weather was a bit rainy but our hosts were gracious and provided ideas and recommendations. The house is located right near the Canadian border so we went up to Montreal one day as well. The house was equipped with everything we could possibly red and we would recommend it to anyone. Thank you again for a lovely stay!

Great place to stay on Lake Champlain
We had an amazing stay (5 nights) with no issues. Upon arrival the house was very clean & orderly. The host, Denise was great she was able to answer our questions quickly (mostly touristy stuff). The house was very spacious. It has 3 bedrooms & 2 full baths and was a perfect size for a family of 4. There are two living rooms, one of them the "blue room" is very large. There was a nice little sun room too that overlooks the lake which was a nice spot to have your early morning coffee in. Even though the house doesn't have air conditioning we were able to keep the house relatively cool in the 90 degree heat by keeping the windows open and fans going (several provided by the owner). The lake breeze goes right through the house keeping it cool. They have a beach area that you can use but it is very rocky, I would recommend using some sort of water shoes if you plan on taking a dip. There is a state park nearby, Alburgh Sand Dunes, that has a public beach (very sandy and large beach) The kids loved it and we highly recommend. The house is located within a few miles of a couple of towns that you can easily do your grocery shopping, restaurants, boat rentals, etc. There is a dollar general (of course) within a couple of miles of of the house to get your basics quickly if needed. Denise allowed us an early check-in and late check out, and gave us and the kids a nice gift upon arrival which was a nice touch. We highly recommend staying here if you are planning on staying in Alburgh.

Beautiful view
We booked this house with the sole purpose of having somewhere nice to watch the total solar eclipse from. The house was very clean & comfortable & the views of the lake were breathtaking. The owners were very easy to communicate with - they even gave us great recommendations on places to visit, places to eat, and things going on in the area while we were up there.

Our family of five (3 adolescent boys) had a wonderful stay at this beautiful home on the lake. The house is incredibly well stocked with anything you could need and is exceptionally well organized. It is very comfortable with space to spread out and enjoy the views of the lake. Denise and Pete are thoughtful and attentive hosts and readily available for any questions.

Great house but no AC
Great house. Clean. Hosts very accommodating. We were there in the dog days of the summer with lots of rain. Didn’t cool off at night either. No air conditioning in the home. And because of the rain and bugs, we needed to keep the windows closed. If you are ok without air conditioning on hot summer days and nights, this is a great house.

This lake side property is absolutely beautiful and well maintained. House is very spacious, clean and beautiful. Has all the amenities and supplies you may need during you stay. Denise was easy to communicate with and has been in touch with us all through the stay. It is in a remote location, so have to drive a bit to get to the restaurants and shops. A Little Slice of Paradise
What a beautiful spot! As we pulled into the driveway, the first thing we noticed was the spectacular view of the lake and the mountains. Then our gracious and thoughtful hosts, Denise and Pete, gave us a much-appreciated tour of their gorgeous lakeside home. The house was perfect for us (four adults and a child). It was quite spacious and beautifully decorated. We enjoyed views of the lake from nearly every room. To say the kitchen was fully equipped is an understatement; the chef in our group found everything he needed. It was delightful to be only a short walk to the lake, where we swam, launched our kayaks, and made s’mores in the firepit on the beach. For some of us, simply relaxing on the covered patio and enjoying the magnificent view was a highlight of our stay. After one rainy afternoon, we were rewarded with a double rainbow! We did leave the house to explore the many nature trails in the area, climb Jay Peak in the Green Mountains, tour the Burlington waterfront, and of course, search for the biggest and best creemees. But after these excursions, we always looked forward to returning to this beautiful, welcoming home on the lake.

Spectacular view and lake side location for a wonderful family vacation!
We love to explore our great State of Vermont for a week every summer. This location was brand new to us and we loved it! What a gorgeous spot with a panoramic view right on Lake Champlain! Wow! The listing captures and says it all. Our family of 4, 2 adults and 2 older teenagers, enjoyed our family time on the water and in this vacation home. We appreciated the incredible warm welcome and tour from Denise and Pete, the consummate hosts. They were responsive and really just had all the bases covered for a complete vacation home. We could tell a lot of great meals have been served in that kitchen, as every detail was covered. The home is tastefully decorated and laid out. It really felt like we were home! We enjoyed the amazing view, the private beach for swimming and kayaking, the many birds and sunny weather - and the view of all the weather. My son found a nice reading spot under the shade tree that we all enjoyed together. We loved exploring the area on our bikes and went to a couple Vermont State Parks. So much water everywhere! We really didn't have enough time to see everything, we will have to go back. We kept it simple most days and stayed right at the location doing a lot of reading and relaxing. We appreciated Denise and Pete sharing their beautiful lake home with us! Thank you!!

A beautiful waterfront home!
We had the best week, so very comfortable! The house is spacious, very clean, well maintained, a beautiful home. Everything you can think of is provided! Small cooking appliances, spices, oils, all you need to prepare a meal! My daughter was looking for a juicer one day and I told her to look around. I was certain it would be found, and voila, it was! We met the owners on arrival, a delightful couple, very welcoming, we were delighted they shared their home with us. The thing that might be considered a negative is the isolated location. If you are looking for lots to do in the area you might be appointed, we were fine with it. We swam, played many outdoor sports and games(the lakeside grass area is huge), rented kayaks, played golf, our days were full! As the owners indicated, the mosquitos come out in droves after the sun goes down, so get the fire pit(wood provided) started early! I would highly recommend this rental, you won't be disappointed. Thank you Denise and Pete!

A beautiful, comfortable family getaway with stunning lakefront views
I stumbled upon this listing while researching many others in the Lake Champlain (VT side) area, and I have to say this was like finding a diamond in the rough. It all starts with the owners and property managers, Denise and Pete Cooper. Simply wonderful human beings who are clearly dedicated to blessing others with a wonderful time away in their home. Their home is very well stocked, clean, comfortable, everything you could want in a vacation rental. I also have to mention that they were quickly responsive to any questions or issues we had (and this, while away for an important event in their family too!). No matter, they responded right away to any needs we had. And while the house as I said is beautiful and comfortable, the view they have of the Lake is... simply stunning. We took our family of six up there for a week (4 young adult and teenage kids) and honestly, we might have gotten the most pleasure just from relaxing in front of that gorgeous lake view each morning and evening. To wake up, relax, have coffee or whatever in front of their panoramic vista of Lake Champlain was the rarest of treats for us. Their spot on the lakefront is private, beautifully kept and a pure tonic for the soul. Check out their notes on their listing page, they offer a wealth of great suggestions for activities to do in the surrounding area, and a beautiful region it is. We enjoyed hiking, kayaking, swimming (more the kids than us, honestly!), spending time in Burlington, a cruise on Lake Champlain, fishing, touring the small islands in the northern lake, and best of all, those long, leisurely mornings and evenings just looking out over the water from their patio. If you are looking for a relaxed and beautiful lakefront home to spend quality time with family and make some awesome memories, this is the place. We absolutely loved every minute of it. Denise and Pete are superb and gracious hosts. We thank them for blessing us with this amazing opportunity to enjoy northern VT and Lake Champlain. Don't sleep on this rental, it's absolutely a hidden gem!!

Absolutely Amazing!
This was the best vacation rental we have stayed in using VRBO! We had an absolutely amazing time. Pete and Denise are among the nicest people we have ever “dealt” with. They were extremely responsive to all of my questions. Their house is gorgeous and spacious. The private beach is beautiful (though rocky like the other places we have stayed on Lake Champlain), the water was extremely clear and warm! The house was extremely clean and well maintained. We are so appreciative to Pete and Denise for ensuring our stay was amazing! We can’t wait to come back next year!!!!

So much to do on Lake Champlain
We had a wonderful time on Lake Champlain. Denise and Pete were so gracious in checking us in. We had some nice hot weather in August, so we beat the heat by swimming in the Lake every day and renting a canoe and kayak to get out on the water. We also loved the Alburgh Recreational Trail about a half mile away - the retired rail bed takes you through forests, fields, and wetlands- beautiful. The Missisquoi National Wildlife Refuge has some great hiking trails and the wildflowers were all in bloom. On a rainy day, ECHO in Burlington is fantastic for kids - staff patiently taught my 6-year-old and 4-year-old how to code tiny robots to complete a maze. We got to see 400 million year old fossils on a hike in Goodsell Ridge Preserve. For a sandy beach experience, head to Alburgh Dunes State Park.

Amazing! Amazing! Amazing!
This was our first trip to Lake Champlain, Vermont and using VRBO. Let me start with the house. It was spectacular! The pictures on VRBO were great but the house was even more beautiful when we arrived. Denise and Pete’s home is immaculate and is situated right on Lake Champlain with views that were unbelievable! Best spot on the lake! The kitchen was huge and had everything we needed and some! There was so much room for me, my Husband, Niece and Nephew and their 3 year old son. We hung out every night in the bar area/family room. Rooms are big and clean, clean, clean! The beach was set up for us with chairs and a fire pit which we used almost every night. The front and backyard are so big and was great for us and our 3 year old to run around. The first day there, we sat at the beach, went swimming, caught fish, made a fire, saw a rainbow, watched an eagle catch a fish from the lake right in front of us! That was only the first day! During the week we watched an evening thunderstorm from their awesome sun room, then the rainbow came. So beautiful! We could not think of anything that would make our stay better. We had the best ice cream from Devyns which was only 5 minutes away. Any food shopping and liquor store was a short ride into Swanton which was about 10 minutes away and Burlington is only about 45 minutes from the house. Now let me say a few words about the owners Denise and Pete (our new friends). They are the nicest people you could meet and have great sense of humors. They wanted our stay there to be wonderful and did everything they could to make that happen. And they did!! Communication with them started pretty much from the initial booking. They answered all our questions, supplied us with whatever we needed and are just all around great people! They were always available for any questions we had and accommodated all our needs. Thank you Denise and Pete for making our family vacation a great one and for letting us stay in your beautiful home!

Another Phenomenal Stay at a Lakeside Paradise
We loved our stay at this fantastic property so much last summer that we decided to return again this year. (Please see our July 22, 2020 review.) The home is absolutely immaculate and is equipped with everything you could possibly need. There is a large living room, family room (with a bar!), and sunroom, all with gorgeous views of Lake Champlain. The kitchen is also large with new appliances and is well stocked with quality cookware. The property includes a large private beach on Lake Champlain. The setting is breathtaking and includes unparalleled views of the lake and mountains. The extremely accommodating and kind owners, Denise and Pete, also provide a fire pit and chairs at the shore (s’mores anyone!) that we used when we weren’t kayaking, fishing or swimming. As much as we love the home and the six acres of land it sits on are spectacular, what made our two stays there extraordinary are the owners, Denise and Pete. They are incredibly responsive and gracious, and genuinely want their guests to enjoy their stay. We really appreciated their hospitality. As we said in our first review, it is basically impossible not to enjoy your stay at this home. We feel very lucky to be able to return to this paradise on Lake Champlain and look forward to returning to this home again so that we can make more great memories for our family. Thank you again, Denise and Pete!

Family vacation
This house was an amazing stay for us, plenty of room for us as a family with adult children to spread out and have space to relax and enjoy the breathtaking views of the lake. It was clean, well cared for, and fully stocked with everything you need. We fished from the bank of the lake and caught an abundance of all varieties of fish. The owners were helpful and available for any need. Loved our vacation at the lake .

Best place on the lake!
Thank you Denise and Pete for sharing your beautiful house! We are so fortunate to have been able to stay here. The only thing nicer than the view are the home owners. They made our stay perfect. The house is so well appointed that it does not feel like you’re staying in a rental. We felt like family and truly enjoyed our stay. If you are lucky enough to rent this property you won’t regret it. Thank you! -Scott & family
