Stunning property in an enviable location in the city of Oxford

Beautifully converted 19th century stable block. The property is full of character and charm and is situated in an ideal and special location in the old part of Headington, next to Bury Knowle Park.

A short bus ride from Oxford city centre (2 miles), it also has the advantage of being a couple of minutes walk to the main Headington shops, all the main Oxford hospitals and close to bus links to London, Heathrow and Gatwick, whilst being in a quiet and peaceful location surrounded by greenery.

THE SPACE

The property has been recently converted to an exceptionally high standard and is situated in a fantastic location overlooking Bury Knowle Park, one of the prettiest parks in Oxford. The living space is all on one level, which makes it easily accessible. It will comfortably sleep up to 4 adults and a baby. The property is ideally located, only a short drive or bus ride away from the town centre and with easy access to both the M40 and A34. It is an ideal rental for visiting the city and also as a base to visit other stunning locations nearby like London, Blenheim Palace, the Cotswold (just to name a few). Also perfect for people that require somewhere to stay for a longer period of time if on business visiting Oxford University or any of the hospitals (John Radcliffe, Churchill, Nuffield or Manor).

SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS
The two bedrooms have double/king size beds.

FRESHENING UP
There is a spacious shower room and the main bedroom has its own ensuite bathroom with bathtub.

EATING
A stunning kitchen has been fitted with all modern appliances (Induction hob, oven, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, microwave and washing machine are available).

RELAXING
The open plan living area is perfect for entertaining and family time, the lounge area comfortably seats 4 people and has a SMART flat-screen TV, allowing you to watch live or catch-up TV or surf the internet. The garden is a fantastic outside space, perfect for relaxing with a cup of coffee in the morning or glass of wine in the evening.

Quiet and excellent

Very neat, clean, well equipped in quiet location with parking and easy bus access to oxford. Agree that a couple of pictures and cushions would make it less sterile.

Comfortable and convenient

The Stables were comfortable and welcoming. The heating was excellent for a cold March weekend and the facilities were very good. Managed very well with disabled partner in a wheelchair - no handles in bathroom though.

Lovely Oxford Location

Very well appointed, newly decorated property(former stable block). Fantastic facilities, with everything we needed for our weekend stay. Would definitely stay here again, if returning to Oxford, which is highly likely. Location is perfect, in a quiet area(Headington), on the outskirts of town, but ideally situated for the short hop into town, and with plenty of pubs and restaurants nearby. Our hosts were very friendly and casual(they live in the adjoining property), and we felt relaxed and comfortable all weekend. Altogether, a very enjoyable stay, and highly recommended for us VRBO fans..

Clean and spacious barn in tucked away location near to Oxford city centrene

Very clean, spacious and well equipped, ideal location for Oxford city centre and local shops. Decor was rather minimalist, some cushions and soft furnishings would be cosier in autumn/winter, although this is a matter of personal taste.

Great Accommodation but...

We are two couples who regularly meet up in various UK locations, this property is in a great location and an easy £10 taxi ride into the centre of Oxford, and has everything you need for your stay, however it lacks those personal touches that make a stay great. At the price we paid per night this property was by far our most expensive we have stayed at but offered no personal touches, a bottle of wine, flowers, a crusty loaf etc offered by so many properties that are far cheaper but missing on this occasion, the property is crying out for some pictures and cushions for a homely feel. The owner Dominique kindly let us check in early but then completely blanked us as we left the property. This property could be amazing with some little extras touches.

Charming listing, in an idyllic setting

The Stables was our base for a quiet birthday getaway. A really lovely, bright and airy, comfortable and modern use of space. The owners are based next door but left very detailed information. The house is ideally situated in a pretty Headington, just 10 minutes from central Oxford, but itself a lovely place with nice restaurants, cafes etc. If you want to travel further afield, you’re close enough to London, and lots of beauty sports in the Chilterns, Oxfordshire, and the surrounding counties. Definitely worth a visit.

Stylish Apartment

This is a high quality, stylish, well equipped property in which we were warm, comfortable and very well located for the Headington shops, cafes and buses to town, which are only a few minutes walk away. It is also very quiet despite its proximity to all these amenities.

Not a wheelchair accessible property.

It is a nice property in a lovely location but it is not wheelchair accessible, as indicated by the ‘Accessible’ status under the ’Featured Facilities’ heading and ‘wheelchair accessible’ under the ‘Suitability’ heading on the HomeAway website. There is a step to get into the property with no ramp made available. Access to the shower room is difficult for a wheelchair user. The accessibility status should be changed.

Super property in lovely location

Only here for two nights and wished we'd been able to stay longer. The property, which was converted by the owner who lives in the adjoining barn, was done to a very high standard. Our host was warm, friendly and accommodating. The property is situated in a little backwater just off the high street and is part of Old Headington. It is adjacent to Bury Knowle Park which has superb amenities for children, tennis courts and lovely quiet areas too. Waitrose is two minutes away and there is a super eating place next door to it serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, also coffees and pastries etc. in the cafe side. It's a shame there is only parking for one car on the premises if you are sharing the property, but not travelling together. However, Thornbury Park and Ride is not far away and only £12 for 72 hours. There are frequent buses on the High Street into Oxford and also to London. If space in the second bedroom had been sufficient to accommodate twin beds it would have offered more flexibility, but we were offered a blow up bed for our adult son who was only staying with us for one night and didn't want to share. (At the time of booking he wasn't expected to be joining us!) These are surprisingly comfortable. We would definitely recommend this property if the above points would not be a problem for your party.

Perfect location for this beautiful property. Two local pubs, perfect for an evening drink and bite to eat. Short 5 minute walk to the local shops and the bus stop into central Oxford. Craig was super helpful and assisted us with everything we needed. We couldn't have asked for a better stay in Headington - we totally fell in love with the area.

Terrific location for two couples exploring Oxford, Blenheim, Avebury, Cotswolds et al from this lovely converted stable. Beautifully appointed and maintained. A quick and easy bus ride into central Oxford, and an easy drive to the ring road to explore further afield.

This place was AMAZING

This is the cutest little place situated on a quiet street across from a fun park for the kids. The house was clean and tidy, large, and fit our family well. Craig the host was nice enough to see us roll in with kids and brought a bucket full of toys for them to play with. Both Craig and his wife were super helpful from start to finish. By the time we were done, we felt like we were leaving a family members house. 5 stars and more!
