Cozy, Nature Lover’s Retreat

If you're looking for a cozy and peaceful escape, this vacation rental is the place. We had the pleasure of staying at this charming vacation rental, and it was the perfect blend of coziness and calm. Nestled on 6 acres of peaceful, private land, it felt like a true escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Our favorite spot was the beautiful deck, where we all enjoyed our morning coffee and relaxed in the evenings, surrounded by the calming beauty of nature. Inside the house space was warm and adequate. Kitchen fulfilled all our cooking needs. The best part was how affordable the stay was, considering everything the home offered. It was a fantastic getaway and absolutely recommended!

Charmingly Beautiful

Our family celebrated my mom’s 90th birthday, requiring 2 VRBOs. This cabin was our favorite. The baths have been beautifully remodeled, as well as the well equipped kitchen. We loved the sturdy rustic dining table and the game room. Checkout requirements are lengthier than most but understandable.

WE have rented the cabin ...

WE have rented the cabin a number of times and it is excellant. well stocked and can sleep alot of people. The view is fantastic, the deer come down on to the property. It is close to alot of things to do from 4 wheeling on quads to playing in the snow. WE will rent it again .

Hidden gem in Sierra foothills

Cozy, large home located in the midst of beautiful pine trees. Although we unfortunately did not get snow for skiing, the home provided a fun game room and spacious kitchen to keep us occupied. We found a local Christmas tree farm and the owner of the rental allowed us to bring a fresh cut tree into the home to celebrate an early Christmas. The owner graciously offered to dispose of it after we left. Overall it was the perfect spot for a family reunion and we would definitely rent again if we were in the area.

Beautiful property!

We had a very nice family vacation! Overall the house is well stocked and comfortable. The dogwoods blooming were beautiful! We did find some of the sheets in the laundry room and needed to wash them to have all the sheets we needed. (My email to the owner never received a response.) There are also several discrepancies between instructions posted at the house and what we were sent by email. The biggest surprise was the cleaners showing up at 10am when we were told 11am for checkout. Also, pictures should be updated...mainly that the deck is no longer covered.

Almost WAS but did'nt quite make it

We arrived at this location around 4:30 in the afternoon..It was very warm..The directions were accurate from Thomas..What was not accurate was the musty mildew smell upon opening the front door. No air conditioning, but fans in various closets. We were with our 95 year old father and did not expect the narrow stairways . This made it necessary to go outside to bring him upstairs. We stayed downstairs with him as my sister and her husband were on the main floor as she could not negotiate the stairs. The downstairs bathroom smelled of mold and there was mildew on the floor. Also a resident lizard in my Dads closet.. The main porch did not have the outdoor furniture shown in the photos and also no umbrella for the table. As far as a pond it had about a foot and a half of brown liquid in it, nothing you would want to get wet in. The grounds were in need of watering and we saw no fruit trees just mildewed sweetpeas. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen had what we needed for our needs. It was a very quiet location and the trees were wonderful I would not recomend this house to 55+ people at all.

Secluded and spacious

My group of nine men stayed for three nights at this property, and we really enjoyed the experience. We like to play board games and musical instruments, cook gourmet meals, relax, and get away from the stress for a few days. We would definitely come back here to stay again. Here are my impressions of the pros and cons of this property for my group: PROS - Very spacious, with a large deck and courtyard area. Thomas allowed us to bring an enclosed fire pit, which made mornings and evenings cozy with a nice rustic feel. - Secluded and out of sight of neighbors. Pretty quiet, but we heard the occasional car driving by or honking geese at the neighbor down the street. - Plenty of beds, plus extra floor space for sleeping bags and air mattresses. Beds were quite comfortable, although a couple are twin size and not suitable for taller men. - The game room is a real nice feature, as it's detached from the house, and we used it to play music in without disturbing the neighbors. - Kitchen is generally well set up, with decent appliances. We didn't use the gas grill, but it looks to be good quality even though it was pretty grimy. We also didn't use the charcoal kettle but might in the future. - Large dining table fits 9 men for meals...10 would be a real squeeze if we tried it. - Bathrooms are modern and clean with nice showers. - There is actually parking space for up to 8 vehicles. - The landline phone provided was nice to have in case we needed it, since we couldn't get cell service in the area. - There are stores nearby to purchase supplies if needed. - Thomas, the owner, is very responsive and helpful. CONS There are not really any true "cons," but here are some features that you might want to know about. - Even though the property is large, it is heavily wooded with underbrush and not really suited for trail hiking or biking. If we wanted to do that, there are plenty of places in the area to hike and bike, but you have to drive 15-30 minutes away and we didn't want to spend the time to do that. The pond and creek are accessible for young kids to entertain themselves. - The owner asks guests to take off their shoes in the house. Not exactly an unreasonable request, but can be inconvenient when going in and out. - The photos of the property show a "nearby creek," but we didn't see that and don't know where it is or how nearby it is.

Great Thanksgiving vacation

This property provided us with plenty of room for our family for Thanksgiving. Beds were comfortable, kitchen was well equipped and lots of room. We especially enjoyed the game room with the pool table and shuffle board and TV for all the sports fans! The property is very private and we enjoyed walking on the very quiet but hilly roads nearby. We would definitely rent this house again.

Guys Weekend

We had 10 guys over 60 for a golf/games weekend. The property fit our needs. One side of the deck we blocked off because there was so much “pitch/sap” on it, we were afraid to bring it into the house. The game room was quite the hit!

No AC, beware of heat waves

Not the owners fault but our big college reunion group didn't catch that there was no AC in the house. We happened to be there during a heat wave so I'm sure it's fine when it's in the 90s but since we were in 106+ weather the whole time the house was pretty hot. Again- our mistake for not catching the lack of AC and it's only a problem if you're unlucky and are staying here during a heat wave. Other than that, the house was nothing fancy but met our needs. The house and game room needs maintenance and repairs and it could have been cleaner but we know we didn't pay top dollar so as long as you go in knowing that it's not going to be impeccable then you'll enjoy your stay!

Solitude in the Mountains

The owner Thomas was so easy to work with and returned messages immediately! The photos of the property should be updated as there are a few things that are not as you would expect. The property is older but was perfect for what we were looking for, peace & quiet. Even without A/C, having a whole house fan, it kept the house cool enough to get out of the heat. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and appreciated the great communication.

Quiet and relaxing

This was a comfortable and roomy home in a quiet neighborhood close to some really cute, historic towns. Thomas was very easy to contact and responded promptly to questions. When we arrived, there was a curbside trash can that was literally overflowing with garbage. After communicating this to the owner, it was acknowledged that the previous guests had not followed the check-out process, which resulted in a missed garbage pickup. While I recognize that this was not the owner's fault, it negatively impacted first impressions. Also, the home was not quite as pictured. It is an older home needing some maintenance and a good deep clean. There was a considerable amount of dust on all of the surfaces, and food had been left in the oven by a previous visitor. There was laundry left on the floor in the laundry room and in the dryer. The check-out process described that the cleaning fee was not to clean the entire house; however, the cleaning list for visitors to complete upon vacating the property would certainly not encompass the periodic thorough clean that any property requires. However, as mentioned, the home was comfortably furnished and provided ample room for all in our party. While not exceptionally clean, it was not egregiously dirty. We had a wonderful time, and I would not hesitate to revisit this property in the future.

Lots of space but needs cleaning

I am so surprised that none of the other reviews mention this... the house is unacceptably dirty. The floors are absolutely disgusting and we found coins in our bed which made us question if the bedding had been changed. We loved the area and privacy. We felt the pictures are not accurate, especially the deck and pond area. Also the game room was awesome except that it really needs some new items as a lot were broken (ex: shuffleboard pucks). Overall the house really needs some TLC. The oven did not work which was mentioned in a review a bit before ours so should have been fixed before we arrived. We had some arrival problems and it was hard to communicate with the owner but that could have been my phone and service. One of the bedrooms on the 3rd level is really a loft which is good to know for planning. Lots of space in the home with the bedrooms, 2 living rooms, game room, and decks so that part was great! Be sure to bring extra towels, paper towels, toilet paper, trash bags, etc as not much are left. Overall we still had a great time but the filth really put a damper on things.

Mountain Retreat

Great location, quiet, beautiful and peaceful. We had a family gathering here and the cabin accommodated our group of 10 adults and 4 small kids very well. The location is not far from Jackson, Volcano and Silver Lake. All are reachable by car within 30 minutes. The game room was a real plus and was well used most evenings. If we decide to have a future family get together here, we'll definitely consider this cabin for a second visit.

Our cabin/home stay in a beautiful location.

We really enjoyed our stay. The home is beautiful with gorgeous views. We had a lot of fun in the game room and sat out on the wrap around patio quite a bit. Had all of the utensils/dishes/pots and pans we needed. We did need a little more towels than were left and had no dish soap so I'd recommend bringing these things. There was a broken lamp when we got there with the broken pieces of glass left in a bowl on the table. The oven also stopped working the night before leaving. Maybe a pilot light or something?? We were a little disappointed since we wanted to make Cinnamon rolls. Other than those small things we loved the place and did have good communication from the owner. Would definitely return and recommend this place to others.

Fantastic Value, Great Location

This was exactly what we needed: space for two adults and eight teenagers. The furnishings are not new, but who cares? We're in the mountains and the scenery is wonderful. The kitchen is easily accessible and large enough for a big group to work simultaneously. The recreation room was a nice bonus. Given the price per night, it is hard to beat this location...if I'm in this area in the future I will definitely stay again.

The 5 of us truly enjoyed our visit. We had a few minor problems that were addressed by the owner right away.
