Downtown views with quaint & charming interior
“It’s like re-visiting my childhood!” is what many people say upon entering our flat. The unique, ornamental furniture give the place a nostalgic, homey atmosphere. Many of the items are second-hand or passed down to me from my grandmother, adding heart and soul.
Although it feels like taking a step back in time, the flat is fully furnished with all necessary facilities to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable stay. The views from our large balcony overlooking the city and harbour are second-to-none.
The flat is withing close walking distance of supermarkets, shops, bars, cafés, restaurants and more. Although situated in downtown Tórshavn, the flat is in quiet surroundings, unaffected by noise from nightlife.

Loved it!

The flat is very central, just five mins walk from the harbour, and the balcony is absolutely amazing, worth it just for that 180 degree view of the city!! The flat was really comfortable and I would stay there again - it was so easy to get around from there, and a supermarket two mins walk away. I would say that the kitchen is underequipped - there was no freezer, no microwave, no dishwasher, no tin opener, no cheese grater, and other basics were missing too. But there were pots and pans, crockery, an oven etc. Also for some reason most of the curtains didn't fit the windows so they wouldn't keep light out, and the upstairs neighbour is incredibly noisy, often between 1-4am, several times a week. The beds are very soft so beware if you have a bad back. Other than this though, it's a lovely spacious flat with really nice furniture and we did enjoy our stay. There wasn't any communication with the property manager at all, just a key box and emails from Vrbo and the Faroese letting company about how to check in and out, and that worked ok.

Hyggelig lejlighed. Som at komme tilbage tiden.

Vi havde en fantastisk uge i denne hyggelige Retro lejlighed Gode senge, hyggelige værelser, stue og ikke mindst hyggeligt køkken. Kæmpe altan som vi nød hver dag, med udsigt udover Thorshavn. Der var 10-15 grønne planter omkring lejligheden som var med til at skabe så meget hygge🌺 Vi lejer selv ud, så jeg var opmærksom på en del mangler: Mangler: køkkenredskaber som brødkniv, Skrællekniv, flere skærebrætter, salatskålen og Sigte. Paletkniv og opøseskeer til sovs og suppe. Flere bøjler til tøj i skabene. Vandhanen i køkkenet var meget utæt. Vi foreslår en ny vask og skab under vasken. Skuffen med bestik var beskidt. Ellers var der rent og pænt. En lille opvaskemaskine kunne være ønskelig. Alt ialt en skøn lejlighed., som med små forbedrelser kan blive endnu bedre og rigtig funktionel. Charmerende bolig i hjertet af Tórshavn

Inden ankomst fik vi detaljeret og fin information om, hvordan vi fandt lejligheden, fik adgang til den samt parkeringsforhold fra udlejer. Det fungerede meget fint. Lejligheden var veludstyret til 7 voksne personer ( 2 personer sov på madrasser på stuegulv, som aftalt med udlejer). Lejligheden er charmerende indrettet med autentiske møbler fra 1950erne og det gav en hyggelig og rar atmosfære. Lejligheden er centralt placeret i hjertet af Tórshavn og i 5-10 minutters gangafstand fra byens centrale torve og gader. Fra køkkenet er der via stor tagterasse en formidabel udsigt over byen og havnen. Vi savnede dog mulighed for udendørs møbler på terassen. Der er tre supermarkeder indenfor 5-800 meter med lange åbningstider og fint vareudvalg. Vi have med 7 personer i lejligheden en fantastisk ferie, hjulpet godt på vej af godt vejr. Vær opmærksom på, at lejligheden er af ældre dato og det betyder gamle og lidt skrøbelige el-installationer samt meget tynde vægge/gulve til øvrige beboere i ejendommen - betyder at lejligheden er meget lydt. Wifi-forbindelse i lejligheden fungerede upåklageligt.

Amazing flat in the middle of Tórshavn

We were very happy that we found this flat - it was perfect for four adults and two teenagers on a week's stay in Tórshavn. The décor is charmingly old-fashioned, the kitchen well-fitted with all we needed. There are grocery shops and restaurants very close by, and we could wash our clothes in the basement - very convenient. The flat is not very sound-proof which may be a problem for light sleepers, but the street is not very noisy, and we had no other issues. Rudi, the owner, was very helpful and we enjoyed our stay very much.

Amazing host, several issues but handled them well!

This apartment is in a wonderful location, right in the center of town, and Rudi was an amazing host. There were a few issues that are worth making sure won't be an issue if you stay here. 1. No hot water for the first 24 hours - this was a bummer since we had been travelling and hiking. Rudi so kindly offered to have us use her home shower, but we took cold ones and the next day was ok. 2. No wifi. I hate that this matters, but I had some work I had to do, and we were with our 3 teenagers, But, Rudi was so helpful and gave us her young son's iphone to use as a hot spot. (Hope we didn't use too much data!) There's no TV here (big international politics so kindof wish we could have caught the news,) and the apartment is, as described, set in ~ 1940s, charming although a few spots might be a bit threadbare, Worth a stay for the wonderful host and location, just make sure there is hot water and that you don't care if you have a TV!
