Great location

Property was very well kept, nice and clean, well stocked kitchen. We were a Family of 4 adults and 2 children, and there was ample space for us not to be on top of each other. Nice large lounge, and a large kitchen. Bedrooms were all double sized. There was a gate that could be closed across the drive to make the back garden secure for kids and dogs. Although not a large garden it was pretty, with a lawn and patio. Upon arriving we were greeted by a lady who explained things that we needed to know regarding bin day, recycling day etc. We had been left milk, apple juice, wine and biscuits which was nice. The house is on the busy coastal road, which was noisy (not enough to worry us, but might bother others) the upside to this though is brilliant bus routes literally on the doorstep (bus stop outside front of house) that went into Brighton one way and Eastbourne the other way. Buses running every 15 mins, meaning easy access to both these large towns, which is great as parking especially in Brighton not good. Also in great position for walking down to Rottingdean beach 10mins and in opposite direction Saltdean beach 20 mins walk along coastal path. Both beaches had a mixture of dog free, and dog friendly areas. Both had refreshments and toilets (though not the nicest toilets) As a Family we had an amazing time, children loved beach life and adults enjoyed the very nice pubs/restaurants that are only 10 minutes walk away from the house. Again I will say house very clean and comfortable, Karen easy to communicate with, and all went smoothly from booking to arrival to departure. I don’t know if Karen will update the information on her web site, but at the moment it says tight parking for two cars and space at front for small car, the space at front is easily big enough for a large family car, but also makes turning into drive and reversing up to park cars at the back very easy, at the moment if you read the description it might put you off, but I would say you could park up to 4 cars on the drive. Really pleased we booked.

Rottingdean - Ideal Location

A lovely place to stay. Extremely clean on arrival with comfortable and more than adequate facilities. The garden at the back was well maintained and lovely to sit out in. Only two slight issues with the house (which were manageable) were, road at the front is busy and therefore the front of the house is rather noisy, pretty much 24/7 and secondly, there is a request to be inside the property from 9pm, whilst manageable, we stayed in a week where the weather was amazing and therefore having to go in from the lovely garden by 9pm seemed a little early. The location is ideal for the beach, 10 min (max) walk, Rottingdean Village itself, which is lovely, great country pubs, local butcher, fishmonger etc., Brighton by bus (15 mins) or a lovely cycle ride along the front (30 mins), Lewes 20 mins drive and of course the generally beautiful south coast. All in all, a wonderful week away.

Sea views in Rottingdean

We enjoyed a lovely family weekend in this beautiful property filled with light and with amazing sea views. I could lounge on the sofa and gaze over the stormy March seas from the comfort of my sofa. Walking distance of Rottingdean pubs and restuarants were in easy reach. Thank you for sharing your delightful home with us.

Lovely seaview.

This is lovely well appointed cottage with panoramic views of the sea, the only negative is the very busy road and narrow access.

Well equipped, comfortable with extra thoughtful touches

We had a lovely long weekend here over New Year. The house is well equipped with good quality appliances and equipment. The owner had left some supplies including wine and flowers which was very kind. A tiny problem was dealt with immediately very well. Short walk into the village where we ate at one of the pubs. The beach is close by and it’s a flat walk into Brighton. House was very warm and comfortable. Great having lots of jigsaws available and Netflix on the tv. Would recommend the house.

Great location

Great base to explore Brighton and the surrounding area. Lounge has stunning views and is a good place to relax. The driveway is tricky to enter and exit, but the off road parking is safe.

Comfortable family friendly house in a great location.

Went for a long weekend with my husband, two kids, and their grandparents. The property was a great location to walk into Rottingdean and the beach via a grassy path. Outside the house was the bus stop to get to Brighton. Lots to lovely walks in Rottingdean and Rudyard Kipling gardens. Even though it was on a noisy road, the house is very quiet with beautiful views of the water. Comfortable lounge for reading and playing with our kids. Kitchen well stocked to make proper meals. Plenty of room in the house to hang out but also have some privacy. Great choice!

Beautiful Sea View

The house is nice although furniture a little dated and the single beds are very small. More cups and plates are needed - we had to wash cups 2 or 3 times a day. Just small details to make an enjoyable stay even nicer. We loved the sea view from the sitting room and a bus stop outside the house was very practical for getting to Brighton.

Wonderful above-average self catering - with a garden and sea views

Clean, spacious, well maintained, beautifully decorated, homely, wonderful bathrooms/baths, fully equipped kitchen, 3 nice sized bedrooms, large lounge, dining room, laundry room. Also has garden with 2 outdoor seating areas. Sea views wonderful. And we were welcomed with fresh flowers, milk, bread, butter, juice, eggs and a nice bottle of red. Thank you for the goodies and for sharing your wonderful house. .

Lovely, clean and spacious fantastic views, very well equipped

The property was lovely and accommodated 7 adults in our party very well. The kitchen was adequately equipped. The views of the sea were lovely although the road outside was very busy. Parking was good although a bit tight! Will definitely be staying again.

Great weekend by the water!

We had an absolutely wonderful stay from start to finish! We were welcomed to the house with a home cooked meal and all the little things like bread, tea, and toast we would want. The house was beautiful and very clean. Everyone in our group slept very well and the beds were all comfortable! It was a short walk into the village for groceries and to the beach. When we wanted to go into Brighton the buses ran very frequently and stop right outside the house! We spent a lot of time in the backyard enjoying the weather. We had a lovely time and already want to come back again!

Gorgeous house in a brilliant location.

We were given a friendly and relaxed welcome by the owner on the day of arrival and were made to feel at home straight away. We were left bread, butter, milk and a bottle of red wine, which we thought was a lovely touch and there was a wealth of information provided on the local area. The location is perfect for a short bus ride to Brighton and a short walk to Rottingdean where we found many great pubs and restaurants. The beach at Saltdean (10 mins walk) provided a great day out. The house is beautifully furnished, particularly the upstairs and is exactly as described. We would definitely recommend Seahaven to anyone wanting to explore the area. Stevens- party of 5 adults

A great home away from home.

Listing of the home was accurate. The one thing we weren't prepared for was it being on such a busy street and the traffic noise at night, but we did get used to it. Property was clean, well maintained and provided us with everything that we needed for our stay. Property Manager was there when we arrived, was very welcoming and gave us all the information that we asked for before leaving, as well as ensuring us that we were welcome to phone her if we needed anything. We very much appreciated having milk, bread and butter in the fridge upon our arrival. We would definitely recommend this property to anyone looking for accommodation in the area. There are a couple of things we would recommend be added for the comfort of the guests: extra towels (for 6 adults showering everyday, a few more would have been appreciated), also some beach towels/mats (travelling overseas we didn't have weight allowance to bring this kind of stuff with us). Also plenty of toilet paper for the duration of the stay was expected - not very costly but something you don't want to concern yourself when on vacation. Used the house as a home base for our week's stay in SE England so didn't spend a lot of time in Rottingdean. Enjoyed eating dinner there a couple of times and a day on the beach and the location to Brighton was perfect especially with the bus stopping right outside the door.

Wonderful place to stay!

The house was clean and beautiful with absolutely gorgeous views of the sea. Super convenient for bus pickups and drop offs and within walking distance to Rottingdean and Saltdean. We loved the trails along the cliff side and the views of the town mixed with countryside. The only down side is there are no downstairs bedrooms or bathrooms. What we believed was the master was locked and not accessible to us. This is a bit inconvenient and would be an issue if you have trouble with stairs. Also the king size mattresses were very uncomfortable. The springs in mattress in the bedroom with the en-suite could be felt through the bedding and the other was hard as a rock. Other than these two issues we loved it! We would definitely book again.
