We’ve stayed here maybe ten times by now, it’s the most comfy and well equipped and conveniently located rental home we ever stay in! The owner ave manager are always easy to reach.
We really loved our stay at the Hawi House, the location was great and easy check in. The house had plenty of room for our family of four, the bathroom, room set up is a little strange, but not a problem. We had a great time staying here.
Simply a beautiful place. Spacious, clean, relaxing, quiet, serene. A true haven, place of refuge, in Hawi town. So many cute shops nearby to check out. Cute little coffee shop with the best coffee cake, ono (delicious) little ice cream shop across the street. Quick drive to see the Kamehameha statue and also to Pololū valley. If you're looking for hustle and bustle, this is not the place for you, but if you're looking for absolute relaxation and peaceful quietness, Hawi Haven is hands down the best place for it!! Host Linda was so informative and efficient. Property manager Chris- a GEM! So sweet and accomadating! We loved everything about this place and the staff/host. Would definitely stay here again. Actually thinking of booking here again for Thanksgiving weekend next year. Thank you Linda and Chris!
We love staying in Hawi - the people are so kind. Access to the mountains and beaches is great. This house was so sweet - very comfortable, lots of little extras (picnic gear, water bottles, rice maker) and the hosts and the property manager were very responsive.
Great place to experience the Hawi side of the island
This is an excellent home to stay in while visiting the Big Island. The price is reasonable. The home is clean and roomy, and the owners are generous and thorough with all that they offer. I highly recommend staying here!
We loved our visit to Hawi Haven! The house felt like home and had everything we needed and wanted. Have stopped in Hawi on several other trips, but never stayed there before...that will change. Hawi and Hawi Haven are definitely on the list for future trips! Mahalo
Hawi Haven was a welcome respite to begin our relaxation on the Big Island. The house was beautiful and so well maintained. Communication with the owner and property manager was excellent. Such a beautiful setting for our exploration of the northern part of the island. We would highly recommend a stay at this home.
We spent 5 weeks at Hawi Haven. Hawi is a cute little town with a great coffee spot and some quality small shops for locally produced goods. This house is very spacious and comfortable. The kitchen is large and extremely well supplied. Chris, the contact person who manages the property, was a pleasure to deal with, prompt and helpful. We hadn't appreciated how much driving we would do - but it was all worth it! Highly recommended.
Really enjoyed this house and all of the amenities porvided. You thought of everything from first aid to beach supplies, paper products and more. Really nice stay here, ate the giant avacados that fall off the tree and enjoyed the farmers market for local produce. Good communication with Chris and felt welcomed. Thanks for the stay
Hawi is a wonderful quiet and quaint town. The house was a pleasure to stay at...Hawaiian decor and lovely, comfortable bedrooms. Cool temperatures in the evening. Very peaceful and relaxing neighborhood.
One of the best family beaches, Hapuna beach was only 30 mins away, that's a quick drive on the big island. The location was ideal for us to visit Waimea, Kona, Hilo, and even Kīlauea. The distance to the majority of the must see sights on our list was ideal, compared to staying in Kona.

Well equipped, clean, homey and relaxing
We’ve been here five or six times and will keep on coming! Large and comfortable (but not super-fancy) house with everything you need. Responsive and helpful house manager and owners. Located within a short walk of “downtown” Hawi with several restaurants, cafes and shops. Hawi is a bit out of the way from the more touristy and busy areas of Kona, Hilo, and Waimea, but that’s what adds to its appeal!
We were totally charmed by this roomy, airy and classic bungalow, so obviously well cared for. We were amazed by how fully and wonderfully equipped it was for guests. They thought of EVERYTHING! Gracious hosts and wonderfully helpful caretaker, to whom we are very grateful. Loved all the books. A convenient stroll to downtown Hawi, and a nice little grocery store right across the street. We certainly hope to return!!
This is our go-to place in Hawaii. We love the feel of the house, it’s very homey and comfy, not super fancy, but it is kept in good shape and has all the necessary amenities. The neighborhood is quiet and only a couple minutes walk to (a few) shops and restaurants - it’s Hawi after all, and part of what makes it charming is that it’s small! Chris the manager was easy to get ahold of and helpful. A few minutes drive will get you to a few more markets and restaurants, but anything else is a longer drive to Waimea or Kona.

We love this place
We've been back now 3 or 4 times. It's walkable to stores and restaurants in Hawi and a short drive to a few more places to eat and shop in the Kohala area. Even though it's basically almost in the middle of Hawi town it's fairly quiet. The house is not super-luxury but it's well appointed and very comfy and has everything you need, and the caretaker Giovanna is easy to reach if you need help.
We enjoyed our stay at Hawi Haven so much. The house is adorable, so clean, and well stocked with everything you’ll need for your stay. I’ve never stayed at a rental with such fine attention to detail. We enjoyed playing the myriad of games provided and listening to Hawaiian music on the CD player in the evening. The internet is fast, in case you need to work a bit like I did. The location is just a short 2 min walk into Hawi town, where you can get groceries, espresso, ice-cream, and breakfast. Some of the Big Island’s finest beaches are just a 25 min or so drive away, which we didn’t mind at all for the solitude of Hawi. Come enjoy this area and Hawi Haven before it’s “discovered”!

A wonderful stay!
We loved our recent visit to Hawi Haven—a true getaway in a quieter part of the island that we really love.
The house: So clean, comfortable and well-stocked for all our needs. You could really tell that the owners take pride in their home and in the hospitality they extend to their guests. The kitchen had every conceivable gadget and amenity you would need, there were beach accessories galore, and each adorable bedroom was a haven away from the spacious and comfortable main living area. The large front and back lawns gave our son lots to explore, and we spent evenings and mornings on the deck overlooking it all.
The location: Located on a quiet side street, we were able to get away while still being able to walk to Hawi town for dinner, farmer’s market, shave ice, and groceries. There is lots to do on this side of the island—good hiking, fantastic whale watching, and not too far from some great beaches.
Don’t miss this gem off the beaten path!
This is our favorite place in Hawaii, we've probably stayed ten times at least; it’s just a couple of blocks from tiny downtown Hawi’s shops and restaurants. The house is older but it’s in great shape and comfy, with updated kitchen and bathrooms. It's generously sized, has a big front and back yard, covered porch, carport for two cars, space to park a couple more, and a covered lanai. There are three bedrooms and two and a half baths, laundry room, living room, big dining room and a big kitchen with another dining area. It's clean and well equipped, and the manager is communicative and helpful. The quirky layout means if all three bedrooms are used, some guests need to go thru someone else’s bedroom to reach a bathroom. WiFi was slow but worked for movies; cell data was also slow. There’s occasional minor daytime traffic noise, and most days a neighbor on one side or the other briefly made noise with tools a few times. But at night it’s very quiet.

Great family vacation for a toddler
Hawi Haven is a beautiful house. Like others have commented, it is equipped with everything you need. I noted a rice cooker and a blender. What other rentals do that? My son enjoyed the children's books, dvds and puzzles that came with the house. We discovered in the garage a box of children's beach toys and even a backhoe front loader.
Everyday we packed the car up with all the beach equipment (chairs, umbrellas, snorkling stuff) and headed south for the beach. The drive was beautiful, not terribly long, and I'm glad we stayed in Hawi. The owners and property manager were professional and responded promptly to email. My deposit checked arrived one week after I returned. This is a very safe option.
