Christmas Trip with Family

We chose to stay at this Windham home so the grandkids could go to ski school and all of our extended family of 7 adults and 5 grandchildren could comfortably reside. The home was spacious, well equipped, with lots of opportunities for entertainment. I definitely recommend this lovely home for those seeking a few days/week for an extended family get together.

Exquisite lodge/home near slopes

6 family/long term friends wanted to enjoy a ski weekend in peaceful upper New York state as opposed to Crowded Colorado. This house proved perfect! 5 minutes from the uncrowded slopes, plenty of bedrooms and open kitchen provided the perfect venue. The home is spectacular with majestic views of the mountains and a lodge atmosphere. We highly recommend this property.

Wonderful weekend

The house completely exceeded expectations! Much like other reviewers have said, pictures don't do the home justice. It's a gorgeous, comfortable house with lots of space. We were 3 families (6 adults and 7 kids) and stayed there very comfortably. Would absolutely rent again.

Spacious, upscale family home close to Windham

House was very well laid out and accommodated our group wonderfully....plenty of room for kids and adults. Homeowner was very helpful and responsive. Property is magnificent with the acreage while being close to the mountain and downtown area. Be aware, the owners have dogs..... if you have anyone slightly allergic in your family it may be a problem.

Texan Fall Break in the Mountains

Took a break from excessive Texas heat and big work responsibilities to sojourn in upper New York State’s exquisite October weather. This spacious mountain home feels like a well - appointed lodge. Beautiful grounds around the spacious home and unobstructed Panoramic views of the Catskill Mountains. This is our second time to enjoy this relaxing environment. The owner makes it easy to communicate and plan. The small town of Windham is a throwback to days gone by with a picturesque main street, delicious deli for local sandwiches, several places to share brew & dinner. Windham mountain has nice skiing in the winter.

Beautiful House and View but poor owner communication and multiple unresolved issues

We stayed here for 3 nights with 9 adults and 1 child for a long-awaited family reunion; the house and view were beyond beautiful, and aside from the below items, we enjoyed our stay. While I seldom leave reviews at all, I feel that there were enough issues that it will serve both the owner and future renters: 1 - Shower in the basement would never produce water that was scalding hot (and therefore couldn’t be used) 2 - There was no Toilet Paper until we contacted the owner, who told us it was in a locked garage (and provided the code). Even then, it was like sandpaper it was so rough. (Thin is okay especially with septic, but it shouldn't be unusable.) 3 - The firewood shed was locked, and we were forced to try the left over firewood that was wet. When that wouldn't work, we went and bought our own when it wouldn't light. 4 - There was a lack of cooking knives (especially for such a large and beautiful kitchen) - where cooking was made incredibly difficult. (How much can you do with a meat cleaver!) 5 - The owner's personal belongings (especially clothing) were everywhere. It felt as if the owners left briefly before we arrived and didn't have time to put everything away. 6 - Perhaps the worst part was getting ahold of Dave, the owner, was very difficult. Text messages were not returned, and calls were returned hours later. When I finally reached him, he couldn't talk long because "he was on the golf course." For a house that was as beautiful as this, these items did make the experience a bit less memorable than it could have been. For the cost of the house, one would have expected them to be there or fixed.

We love the Hawk’s Nest!

We had such an amazing stay at this beautiful home! The house was clean, spacious and exactly as advertised, and the property was incredible. Perfect home for our big group that was in town for a wedding with more than enough space for everyone to sleep comfortably and get ready. There is no air conditioning in the home, but it does get very cool at night in the summer so sleeping was fine with a window open. We look forward to returning in the future!

Booked a weekend with cousins to revisit the area where we spent summers growing up. The house was beautiful. Plenty of space to gather and relax. The rental process was seamless. We will definitely do it again.

Beautiful home. See less stay

This was our second time staying st this property and it was perfect for our three families. The kids all love the basement area and the parents have plenty of space to be together and apart on thr main floor and upstairs bedrooms. The house is beautiful, conveniently located to everything in Windham and Dave is a great host to work with.

Wonderful weekend at Windham!

We had an amazing weekend in this beautiful home. The house is large and comfortable. The property is perfect for sledding and outdoor fun. It is very close to Windham mountain and convenient to town as well. Couldn’t be happier with our stay. David was great and available for any questions. We will be back!

Highly recommend this beautiful luxury property in a private yet convenient location to downtown Windham. The home is beautifully furnished and well equipped with every amenity you could need. The property has spacious grounds and stunning views of the local mountains. The owner was gracious, easy to reach and quick to communicate. Check in and out were a breeze. Be prepared to make this home one of your favorites!

50th Wedding Anniversary Sept. 2021

Our family held a small reunion to celebrate our parents 50th wedding anniversary. Many years ago we would vacation in “East Durham - The Irish Catskills”. We have fond memories of our years in the Catskills. So, this was an attempt at a trip down memory lane. In reality we created new memories! @windhamhawksnest was spectacular. It could not have been more perfect!! The house was very well-equipped, especially the kitchen, gas grill, and outdoor pizza oven. We did not use any of the indoor fireplaces, but enjoyed the outdoor fire pit in the evening under the stars. Plenty of space for everyone and a truly spectacular home, amazing sunsets too! Lots of little fun surprises like a hidden swing in the woods, a chairlift swing for watching the sunset, even a golf tee for hitting some balls down into the beautiful Meadows. Monarch butterflies everywhere! We will be talking about this trip for years to come. Thank you for hosting us!

Amazing Log Home

Had no problems with the limited contact I had with owner, pretty straight forward . The house construction is a marvel. The only negative we all found was lack of air conditioning. All in all a pleasant stay.
