Private, spacious, comfortable villa on quiet small development with beautiful views of the mountains bordering the Almanzora Valley. Patio doors from the master bedroom and lounge open onto the sunny, south facing patio area with sunbeds around the private and secluded 10 x 5m walk in swimming pool. A large, shady area of veranda provided under a substantial porch is the perfect spot to sit and enjoy long, leisurely meals overlooking the pool. There is a Spanish BBQ or gas BBQ available, outdoor table tennis and stone table and chairs from which to enjoy the mountain views. A bar/restaurant is 2/3 minutes walk and other restaurants, bars, shops, bakery, newspapers, bank and petrol station are only a short 5 minute drive. The long sandy beaches of Costa Almeria are only 20 minutes away. The villa is fully equipped to sleep 6 in 3 good sized bedrooms with linen and indoor towels provided, pool or beach towels can be available by arrangement. The kitchen has a dishwasher, washing machine, microwave and full size electric hob and oven. In addition to a large family bathroom the master bedroom has its own en suite shower room.

Well presented villa and would definitely recommend

Our family of 4 had a wonderful time staying at this well presented, spacious, very clean and well equipped villa. Communication before and during our stay with the hosts was excellent. For anyone who wants to stay within walking distance to amenities the location wouldn't be suitable as most things are at least a short drive away. Otherwise, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this villa and would happily book to stay again.

Great time

The property lived up to all the reviews , Vicky and Geoff kept us informed throughout and provided lots of information on the area which helped as we were looking to potentially buy a property locally . The directions were excellent and all the guidance was spot on. The villa was lovely, clean and very well equipped and a lovely setting , quiet and peaceful but with an excellent value bar and restaurant 5 minutes walk away, the views across the mountains were stunning even when the unusual weather conditions set in we had a stunning light show ! The surrounding areas had everything you required and were an easy 10 or 15 minutes drive away . Ideal for exploring locallly and further afield if required. We can’t recommend both the villa and the owners support before and during our stay, suffice to say we liked the area so much we are now looking to buy somewhere for us Thanks

Home from home, beautiful place with everything you could want and need.

We are a family of 6 our youngest is 7 and we all loved it, the villa is very beautiful, spacious, clean, well equipt and homely. Vicky very kind lady whom communicated with us all the way through even arranged for us to have done bits and bobs when we arrived. (bread, milk ect). Almería a beautiful place very peaceful and the prole very friendly. The pool is fantastic the children lived in it while we where there even learnt how to swim. There was even big bath towels. Lots of pool toys for the little ones and the teenagers. Board games everything you can think of. We loved it and highly recommended it. Thank you.

Quiet and peaceful piece of unspoilt Spain

We had a very relaxed holiday just chilling by the pool. We went to beach in San Juan which a lovely bay with shallow sea. Villa was well equipped with everything we needed and more.

Simply wonderful

After an absence of four very long years, I returned to Vicky & Geoff's villa along with the three youngest of my children (daughter 22, twin daughter & son 19) for a fourth time. As I drove into the village of Cucador on the morning we arrived, the same sense of comfort came across me as it does when I return to my own home after a period away. It's not 5 star Hotel accommodation, nor 5 star Package Holiday accommodation, it's a beautiful, comfortable and inviting home set in a quiet location with wonderful views A home that allows you to escape the frantic aspects of life in the UK yet offers easy and quick access (with car hire) to many coastal and inland towns and villages, each one of them a pleasure to spend time in. My youngest daughter is disabled and is dependant on her wheelchair. With the exception of a low kerb edging from the patio to the pool area (where some assistance is required), the Villa presents her with the opportunity to share the same level of freedom of movement and enjoyment as it does for the rest of our family, an invaluable asset. If your holiday plans involve Night Clubs, Amusement Arcades, Casino's and Shopping Malls etc and, the desire to share them with a thousand other people looking for the same thing, then perhaps both the villa and Cucador may not meet your requirements. If however, you want to provide yourself with life long memories of peace and tranquillity, they most certainly will. Theresa and family from Cornwall

We stayed at this beautiful villa in August. We are a family with 2 teenage children, we stayed here last year and loved everything so much we decided while we were there we would come again. The villa was just as fantastic as last year, amazing pool, excellent A/C, extremely clean inside and out - a very enjoyable holiday for all of us. We did a bit more traveling around this year (which was better for the children) the local bar was good, lovely food, good prices and only a 5 min walk - great for the evening when you don't want to go far. Vicky and Geoff are extremely helpful if you have any queries, there is loads of info at the villa to keep you occupied. This is an amazing family holiday villa, I would not hesitate in recommending this property to anyone.

Perfect for families

The villa was ideal for our family of 5, plenty of room for all of us. It was our first experience of staying in a villa and we were really impressed. The rooms were spacious, clean and tidy, and the kitchen was well appointed, so we had all we needed. When we ate in, we used the BBQ which was ideal. We were there for the Summer half term and the weather was good enough for us to be by the pool for much of the time. The terrace area is a real sun trap and the pool was just the right temperature. There is a folder in the villa which gives some really good information on the locality for your holiday if you need it. We really enjoyed staying here and will go back.

A wonderful family holiday!

What a beautiful place, we had such a lovely time. The villa was perfect for us, clean, well equipped with all the necessities. With the directions and suggested places to eat and visit, it was easy to get around. Lovely places to eat and a lovely beach for the kids at San Juan. Stunning views from the villa. 5 start villa and Great for exploring the area

We booked this villa for 4 Adults,the aim for our visit was to explore the local area with a view to moving to the here in the near future. Great family holiday

A fantastic property, excellent family villa

This villa was amazing, our 2 teenage children loved the pool, the space and the position of the villa. There wasn't anything you would need that this very well equipped villa didn't have eg: cupboard ingredients, food bags, dvd's,books,pool towels, pool toys,too many to list !! This extremely spacious villa is very well looked after by Nicola,who was very helpful. It is in a great position with beautiful views and privacy. The local bar is within walking distance,owners are English, very friendly, lovely food and very reasonable prices. The air conditioning was brilliant in every room, extremely quick to reach a cold temperature and most welcoming after an afternoon outside at the generous size pool which was extremely clean. We didn't have one negative on our stay at the villa and we have already decided we will definitely come back next year. Thank you so much to Vicky and Geoff, you have a beautiful villa and we're so glad we chose this for our family holiday. Many thanks Theresa and Family from Cornwall

Quiet, well-appointed villa

We are a family of 4 (2 teenage children) and we had a fantastically, relaxed time at this villa. The property contained everything that we could possibly have required - a very well-equipped kitchen, wi-if, air-conditioning, multi channel TV, DVD player and lots of films and plenty of games. The pool was a great size and the many inflatable items were used a lot! The outside area was perfect for BBQs, sun bathing and simply chilling in the shade. The location was wonderfully peaceful but well positioned for day trips to lots of interesting villages and towns and coastal resorts. Nicola, the house-keeper, was a gem of help and assistance. A great break away for sun, rest and relaxation! Thank you.

Absolutely Fantastic Villa, Excellent, Facilities

The villa is fantastic and has all the facilities that you need, a real home from home! It was spotlessly clean and very well maintained. Nicola, the property manager was super, on hand if ever we needed her. The area is lovely with lots of places to visit and explore, and some really lovely restaurants, spoils for choice!! Lovely rural holiday in the sun

This was a great setting for a well earned rest with plenty of sunshine, and all the facilities anyone would need. The pool was fantastic, and the setting very peaceful. Good shopping in local markets and supermarkets, and very detailed and thorough information helped us make the most of eating out. Beaches are within easy reach by car, and it was lovely to be 'far from the madding crowd'!

Fantastic Villa

My wife and I stayed here for a week in August. The villa provided everything we needed for a relaxed week in the sun. The kitchen and lounge/diner were well equipped giving it a home from home feel. The pool area is beautiful with plenty of sunbeds and a great view over olive trees. As the weather was so nice we ate our meals on the patio, cooking on the newly built BBQ. The local area is quiet with a bar/restaurant, serving great food, a 3 minute walk away. A number of great beaches are within a 30 minute drive. The owners were very extremely helpful and sent us plenty of information on the villa, and local areas of interest after we booked. This is a superb villa that has everything to make your holiday perfect. I thoroughly recommend it to anyone, and are looking forward to our next visit.

A lovely spacious villa in a quiet area

We had a lovely time here. The villa was clean, well maintained and well equipped. It was in a quiet area and the garden was very private. There was lots to do in the area. A bit further inland the mountain villages were full of wild flowers and there were many attractive places on the coast. We liked Mojacar, Villaricos, The 4 coves around Aguilas and especially the Cabo de Gata national park. Arboleas nearby was a nice little village and Huercal Overa is a lovely town. We were lucky to get some hot weather and really appreciated the lovely big pool which was well maintained by Nicola.

Beautiful villa, lovely location, great holiday

We (family of 5) had a lovely holiday at this beautiful villa earlier this year. The villa was spotlessly clean and very well equipped with everything we needed. The location suited us well, being in a quiet area but easy access to beach and restaurants near by. Some of our favourite activities were visiting the local markets (there are plenty to choose from), enjoying the scenic coastal road and beaches north of Vera, buying fresh oranges from the road side and of course spending lots of time in the swimming pool. Thanks Vicky and Geoff, we will definitely be back!!

Lovely property with great pool

We Stayed here this August(2014) My wife and three boys 17,14 and 10. Pool is great. View is also lovely. The pool area is very private and not at all overlooked. The house is very well proportioned and the bedroom sizes are great. Facilities in the house are all very good and the owner obviously takes a great deal of pride in catering for their guests. The local bar/restaurant (500m)is British run and food is basic but very good and extremely reasonably priced. Desserts are Brilliant. Went on day trips to Vera aqua park and also to Fort Texas which is where many spaghetti westerns filmed (boys favourite). It's not Disney remember just old sets that have been left behind in the desert.All in all a great holiday and thank you so much to our kind hosts.Would recommend.

Beautiful!

The villa is stunning, the pictures do not do it justice. We had a wonderful, relaxing time and wanted for nothing during our stay. The bar close to the villa does really lovely food and the local villages and towns are very easy to get to for exploring, shopping and days/evenings out. We can't wait to go again and highly recommend this property.

Lovely villa with everything you need

We stayed here in August 2012 but i can only go back as far as 2013 with the dates. Sorry for late review. What a fabulous villa. It is large, spacious and cool. There is everything you need for a great family holiday. We have four children, some of whom are teenagers and this villa was perfect. There is loads of room and while the temperature outside is hot (reaching 44c on one occasion during a scirrocco wind) the inside is beautifully cooled by the air con. The kitchen is well equipped and we cooked at home a lot. There is a washing machine and plenty of space to air washing which I know is sad but I love it! The pool is great. Perfect size and temperature and a lovely colour - very well used by our family as were the toys, surf boards etc in the shed. There is a bar (english speaking) just up the hill which also had great air con and served great food and beer. To venture further afield you will need a car - we drove to Almeria from Oxon which was fun (it took 3 days and was a real adventure - would recommend it!). We drove around a lot while at the villa too. Mostly down to Vera and the surrounding beaches. Went to the water park in Vera. Very good, very hot! All in all we would totally recommend this as a family holiday destination. Vicky and Geoff have done a wonderful job kitting out the villa and it has everything a large family or group of friends needs for a relaxing holiday with guaranteed sun. We will be revisiting...... By the way, it is very reasonably priced too! Thanks Vicky and Geoff

Superb villa - excellent base to explore area

I would just like to stay that my family (two adults, two older teenagers) absolutely loved this villa! It's the perfect size for family of four, but could have easily accommodated two more kids or grown-ups also. It's extremely private, almost secluded, with a very large pool (bigger than most we've seen) and adjacent terrace area that was a joy to spend quality "family" time in, which is exactly what we wanted to do given that the older teenager is about to leave home to start university. The villa was very clean on arrival, very nicely decorated and extremely well equipped (absolutely everything you need to live "in" and live "out"; e.g. kitchen/dining stuff, pool accessories, several beach parasols, cool bags, freezer blocks etc.) and Vicky had arranged to have basic supplies in the fridge upon our arrival, which was a very nice touch. The bedrooms are plenty big, and the main bathroom is extremely spacious with a very good shower, and the en-suite shower-room was also excellent - the most "powerful" shower that we've ever experienced! The moment we walked in, we were able to make it our home for a few days, and a blue A4 file packed full of leaflets and handwritten notes giving reviews and tips for places to get supplies, eating out, markets etc. was a nice, quirky touch that encouraged us to discover so much. Huercal Overa and Albox have all the supermarkets you need to keep yourself equipped - the Lidl in Albox (10 min drive) and the Mercadona in Huercal was our main source of supplies. We had a rental car, which was essential for getting around, as the village within which the villa is located in (El Cucador) is quite remote, but is an ideal base from which to explore the costa de Almeria region and beyond: we day-tripped to Almeria itself, Tabernas, Cabo de Gata, Agua Amarga (excellent beach), Garrucha (excellent seafood), and explored markets and towns in Vera, Huercal Overa, Arboleas and other local villages and drives through the spectacular hills and mountains nearby. Thank you Vicky and Geoff for making available your lovely place for us to stay in, at a very reasonable price. Without a doubt this is the best villa we've stayed in, and although we are gradually working our way up Eastwards along the Southern Spanish coast every year, we're very tempted to come back to this villa again - just because it's such a nice place to live/relax in!

Beautiful

This was our second stay at Casa Vista Montana having made our decision to return during our first visit there in June 2012. On the day we arrived (early evening) groceries had been purchased on our behalf and were in the villa waiting for us. Certainly sufficient to be able to rustle up a bite to eat that evening and get us through the following morning without the need to hunt down a supermarket after a full day travelling. The villa itself delivers on all aspects. The presentation is superb, it's spotlessly clean, wonderfully equipped and provides those homely comforts often missing in rental properties. As the parent of a disabled teenage child, wheelchair access around any property is a significant factor in the decision making and Vicky and Geoff's home offers ease of access to all areas both internal and external. Despite my children being teenagers (daughters of 19, 17, 14 and a son of 14), they were more than happy to spend days just lazing in the sun at the side of the pool or in the pool itself, and enjoy lunch and dinner on the veranda overlooking the beautiful scenery. If you intend to spend time away from the villa then a car is advantageous and the area has some wonderful beaches. The Water Park at Vera offers a fun day out with several water rides and 'safe play' pools for the smaller ones. The local markets are vibrant and interesting and offer a huge choice of merchandise from fresh fruit and vegetables to spare parts for a vacuum cleaner. The town of Albox (about 20 mins by car) is a favourite with my family. The market stalls follow the winding streets to a small square with a number of pleasant places to sit and enjoy a coffee, a cold beer as well as food, and watch the local residents and market traders go about their daily business. However, you do need to get there reasonably early as available parking disappears quickly. Vicky & Geoff are excellent in their care for their guests and provide a comfortable home for you to enjoy a wonderful holiday however you choose to do that.
