Local landmark Devil’s Bridge is just a 2-minute walk away, as is Ruskin’s View, which was named after the poet who believed it to be one of the most beautiful places he had ever seen. For those who prefer more challenging walks, why not try Yorkshire’s famous three peaks? The area around Kirkby Lonsdale is also great for cycling with plenty of dedicated cycle paths. A popular spot for mountain bikers is Grizedale Forest, only 30 miles away, which also has a delightful sculpture trail, as well as GoApe for the more adventurous. Other activities available locally include golf, fishing and horse riding.
With the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales National Park on the doorstep, there is lots to see and do. There are several stately homes and gardens in the area including Leighton Hall, Levens Hall, Holker Hall, Sizergh Castle and Lowther Castle. Families with children will enjoy a trip to Carnforth Station Heritage Centre just 10 miles away, Ingleton with its waterfall trails and show caves and the Beatrix Potter attraction at Bowness-on-Windermere just 22 miles away. Other places worth visiting include Morecambe Bay with its sandy beach and Lancaster. With something for everyone and with lots of space inside and out, Leyfield Coach House is the perfect destination for families and friends who want to explore this wonderful part of Cumbria. Shop, pub and restaurant ¼ mile.

Very roomy and spacious accommodation for a family.

Very roomy and spacious accommodation for a family. All bedrooms downstairs so not suitable for anyone with mobility issues. However it was fine for our family and we had a nice relaxing time and would certainly consider coming back at another time.

The location is brilliant. You are quite literally 5 pleasant minutes walk from the town centre. Its an upside down house with three en suite bedrooms downstairs. Not the best for mobility issues. Excellent parking with access via a quite steep gravel lane. Lots of outdoor patios and a good garden. The kitchen and dining room are have their own patio with great views. A huge living room with tons of seating and good internet. There are Alpacas in the adjoining field! Pet friendly, my Yorky loved it. Kirby Lonsdale is lovely but be aware the pubs close at 10pm. The pubs are great and a local brewery runs its own, The Barn which is great. Excellent pies from the pie shop and wonderful chocolate from Chocolat! Lake District is 20 minutes away and the Dales are magic. Highly reccomended for families. Just note that access is about 10m past the junction of A65 and B6254 in the direction of the M6.

What a beautiful home in a great location.

What a beautiful home in a great location. It was very easy to get to, and the directions sent were fantastic. Easy walking distance into Kirkby Lonsdale with a lovely supermarket nearby. It was sparkling clean. All my worries and stresses just melted away when I stepped through the door. Perfect for a break with family. Lots of space. A couple of things could be improved (a couple of pieces of broken furniture and 2 of the bathrooms could really do with a shower). However, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone as a lovely place for a break.

On the whole, we're impressed with the cottage.

On the whole, we're impressed with the cottage. There was an issue with the mattresses and comfort however the owner was quick to react and went out to buy mattress toppers which aided a better nights sleep. Great central location, Booths supermarket in walking distance. Plenty of Parking and the view is amazing. plenty of space in the living room, kitchen, dinner and patio. looking to stay again next year.

Location is this property’s biggest asset.

Location is this property’s biggest asset. There really does need someone to take customers comments on board, or else what is the point of asking for reviews. Countless people have commented on the need for a curtain over the lower bedroom outer door and for the heating to be sorted. Have the radiators ever been bled? A few homely touches are definitely needed and new cushions would be appreciated. That said, it’s a great spot

Very good standard of holiday rental , every bedroom is en suite , the upstairs open plan kitchen living room is a lovely light space with fabulous views . Very well equipped , lots of crockery ,dishwasher , washing machine. 5 minute walk to town centre and its a super little town lots of pubs and restaurants most of them dog friendly . Only small criticism the cooker is a poor model , grill is very silly design and the oven takes ages to heat up , also although the website says there is an initial supply of logs for the wood burner there is not . But these are minor points overall this property is an excellent choice .

We were a little worried reading reviews before we visited but we needn’t have been. The issues that previous guests had mentioned had definitely been resolved. Everything was fresh and clean, newly renovated bathrooms. A fantastic property in a fantastic location. We booked when it was still advertised as 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms and didn’t have any issues with the now unrentable 3rd bedroom. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a place to stay in Kirkby Lonsdale.

A super house for a break, only four of us on this occasion (two couples) but plenty of space and resources for six. Loved being snug inside with the log burner blasting out and the fantastic views, look forward to a summer visit sometime hopefully as lots of choice to sit out.

We found the house was very good indeed, spacious and well equipped. It is a very short walk to Kirkby Lonsdale which has a number of good dining & drinking places. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen and dining areas were great.

The was our second visit to Leyfield Coach House. The view is truly stunning and it is in a fantastic location. However, the property itself is starting to need a bit of TLC (e.g. some of the carpets could do with a proper clean; the tv in the bedroom is unusable which is mentioned repeatedly in visitor feedback).

The house was excellent and well positioned for amenities, lovely clean spacious rooms and a great view from the living room. The only downsides were the lack of showers, 3 bedrooms and only one shower (there were baths), this was ok for us but a party of 6 may find it a nuisance. It was April when we went and although the living room/kitchen area was nice and warm, the bedrooms were very cold even with the central heating on. The house was very difficult to find as you cant see it from the road and the directions werent brilliant. Overall though we had a great holiday, only minor niggles.

This is a fab house in a great location, there is the busy A65 to cross if you have animals or young children. As everyone has said a few tweaks and it would be excellent. The TV in the lounge is not SKY you need a card (is that even a thing?). The TV in the main bedroom doesn’t work. The bedrooms are all en-suite, only 1 has a shower the other two have baths. It has fantastic views over the fells from the windows in the lounge, which is large and comfortable. Kirkby Lonsdale is a great village to wander, eat, drink and shop. Plato’s, The Sun Inn and the Kirkby Lonsdale brewery. There is a wonderful walk along the river bank and up the steps to Ruskins View.
