With its dramatic clifftops, sandy beaches and forests, walking is a delight with many beautiful walks from the doorstep. From Kippford a must is a walk along the Jubilee Path to Rockcliffe, another little village just around the coast where there is a lovely sandy beach. Enjoy a drive from Dalbeattie along the Solway Coast with its extensive sandy beaches, rocky coves, traditional fishing villages and harbour ports, such as Kippford and Rockcliffe.

There are also historical sites and castles to explore including Caerlaverock Castle.
