Our home is set on a quaint piece of Door County's shoreline. Just steps from the waters of Sturgeon Bay, its location is very private, yet convenient to the city. The Chalet was built by my father in law, who spent his life working as a shipbuilder in Sturgeon Bay. Much of the structure is constructed with wood from ships dating back to the building of mine-sweepers during World War II. We've worked hard to try and update the home without losing its true uniqueness.
The Chalet hosts 3 bedroom-2 baths. With its distinctive structure, the cathedral ceilings present an open concept living/dining room area plus a newly remodeled kitchen with upgraded appliances. Captains Quarters- The upstairs loft including a balcony provide the master with a king bed and en suite bathroom. The balcony adds extra sleeping with a futon. On the main floor there are 2 bedrooms & a shared full bath. Queens Stateroom-Has a bed fit for a Queen. Also a Pack & Play and an air mattress are in this bedroom closet. Crews Quarters- Supplied with 4 twin beds (1-Bunk Bed & 1-Trundle Bed), to accommodate added guests. As well as the toddler rail for one of the twin-beds. Full-size laundry facilities are tucked in the closet of this room. Also a Queen Sleeper Sofa is located in the shared living room on the main floor.
From the Chalet's large patio you will enjoy the early morning sunshine peaking from the east and the evenings captivating colors lighting up the surrounding bay. We hope you take pleasure in its unique hidden setting and think you're going to love the charm of our shoreside retreat.

We had a wonderful stay at the Chalet on the lake. The host thought of everything! The Chalet was perfect for our family and friends. There were great view and easy access to all the Door County offers. We will definitely be staying here again!
The Chalet was perfect! The location, the cleanliness, the amenities, the view, the hosts and the house itself.
We we will definitely be back for another stay at the chalet… hopefully soon!!
After 32 years, my husband and I returned to Door County with my son's family for a week of family fun. The Chalet on the Shore was the perfect home for all of us. With young children from 1-8, there were activities available for all, from playing yard games to fishing off the dock and kayaking. Our hosts could not have been more accommodating and we look forward to making this a new annual family tradition.
This property is amazing! The house was perfect for our family of six. Jennifer and Brian have provided everything down to the smallest detail. We had many trips up into Door County and quiet evenings on the deck watching the most beautiful sunsets. Thank you Jennifer and Brian for sharing your amazing Chalet on the Shore…can’t wait to come back.
Had a wonderful 4 days at the chalet! The property was beautifully decorated, nice amenities for outdoor activities and great location to explore Door County. We would like to plan another trip soon!
It was wonderful and the Chalet was even better than anticipated. Jennie and Brian were terrific hosts and the Chalet was the perfect vacation spot. Something for everyone.
This place is awesome! So charming and well-kept! Excellent location - the view is amazing and so close to everything in Sturgeon Bay. Communication with the host was excellent - We will be back here again for sure!
Great location, beautiful views, not for swimming though
We had a great time as a location for a extended family vacation. Sunsets were superb! Bummed the swimming was not possible at the location but kayak and SUP was great!
The views, location, amenities and a fully stocked kitchen for cooks made this a wonderful family vacation! The hosts did a fabulous job in providing everything you could want in a vacation rental. Highly recommend booking this chalet!!! Thank you again sharing your home with us.
We had a great time! Property is very clean and has everything we needed! Beautiful view, peaceful and very relaxing! Jennie was available and answered right away if we had any questions. Great getaway and we look forward to staying again!!
Our family stayed here during our teenager’s fall break. The chalet was wonderful. Very clean and comfortable. The chalet is stocked with tons of activities for both indoor and outdoor use. I spoke to Jennie a few times and she gave us great ideas for things to do in the area.
Loved the location. Right on the water at the end of dead end. Dogs could roam freely and enjoy the water at their will. Easy access to the downtown of Sturgeon Bay. Easy day trips to anywhere in Door County. Very clean and well kept home.
Updated, clean, and comfortable house right on the water
We had a wonderful stay in this house. We had great access to the water and were able to swim right off the doc with our large dog. The kitchen and grill had plenty of room and supplies for us to cook our meals. The yard and patio were great for relaxing and eating meals with a view of the water.
We had a wonderful stay! Thank you Jennie and Brian!
What a beautiful home, well-kept, thoughtfully decorated and stocked, with stunning views of the shoreline from both indoors and out. Our family of 4 truly enjoyed our stay. We went kayaking twice a day with the fantastic kayaks provided, grilled outdoors on the charcoal grill, enjoyed the outdoor toys and hammock, and indoor board games. The hosts welcomed us with a basket of local snacks and treats, and were very responsive throughout our stay. We can't wait to come back.
What makes the Chalet truly special are all the little touches and details. This is a warm home with breathtaking views. Everything to make a house a home you will find here. This is a family home that deserves all the memories you can share with it. Jennie is awesome. A truly special find that deserves the respect from all who visit.

Charming lakefront home with plenty of amenities
This cozy bay front home made our first trip to Door County truly memorable. We appreciated the many thoughtful items offered at the house that made it comfortable. Our family enjoyed sunset picnics overlooking the water, leisure bike rides on country roads, napping on the hammock, fishing, boating, kayaking and more. There really was something for everyone and we couldn’t have asked for a better summer getaway experience.
This place is amazing, but I’d kinda like to keep it a secret ;) So cozy, clean and very well kept. The owners thought of everything! No need to travel further north as we prefer a somewhat rustic less commercialized area yet near everything we need from groceries to a quaint downtown to sandy beaches and boat rentals. It was perfect for our family and we intend to return.
This sweet chalet by the water provided a relaxing getaway while being convenient to Door County for day drives. The stay provided all the amenities one would wish for, from a cozy fireplace indoors to kayaks and bikes and a hammock. We enjoyed fishing off the dock with the poles provided. Everything was sparkling clean and the owners were responsive and engaged. There are so many places to hike/walk just a stone's throw away. We would most definitely love to come back!
The Chalet is absolutely perfect. We hunt and fish. We had a place to dock boat & we were minutes from bow hunting. Beautiful sunsets, geese galore & neighbors aren't too close. The house is quiet, end of road privacy, very clean, and a cozy fireplace. The ambiance is perfect for a Door County Getaway. Jennie was available and attentive to our needs, she is an amazing lady!

Best Home Away from Home
Our stay at the Chalet was more than we could have expected. Jennifer was extremely responsive and everything we needed (plus more) was there for our use. She made our family trip special since it was the last one before our daughter leaves for college in the Fall. We spent time fishing, using the kayaks, sitting by the fire pit and playing lots of old school games besides exploring the rest of Door County. The Chalet was clean, private and it was so easy to access when we arrived late at night. We would definitely come back to see those beautiful sunsets.
The chalet was very clean and so well appointed. We felt very safe and walked our dog all over the neighborhood. Since the snow had mostly melted, we scrapped our cross country ski plans and explored the area's lighthouses, and great hiking trails. We thought we had a furnace issue which turned out to be nothing, but Jennie was super responsive and made our comfort her top priority. We used the fire pit to celebrate the incoming of 2023, and we saw a 1,000 foot freighter cruise right past the chalet on New Year's Day - that was a bonus!
