In addition to huge projects such as the San-Francisco-Bay Area bridge and Lincoln Tunnel, as part of the "New Deal" offered by President Franklin D. Roosevelt many smaller local relief efforts were initiated including funding to build local community buildings.
> The Crow's Nest Cabin is built nearly entirely from lumber reclaimed from the old Harvey Community Center built in 1934. It was located on Highway 30, just east of College Station. The old oak tongue and groove floorboards of that beloved building are now the walls and ceiling of the Crow's Nest Cabin. Each sanded, and refinished by hand. And yes, screwed into place by my wife, my son and me. Like I said, there is no other place like this.
