The cottage was as pictured but then I realized the bathroom was not pictured. It was functional but very cramped and not great for big people like my football player son. It could also use a deep clean. Mattresses could be updated as well. Otherwise, it’s a very pretty spot and was convenient for visiting our friends nearby as well as sightseeing. Did not expect to do laundry before handing to the airport so plan ahead for that!
With lake views on two sides of this house, the outdoor ambience of this rental can't be beat. The house reminded me of my family's old lake camp in the mountains, where the furnishings are tired, but the family doesn't notice, bcuz it's home. The older I get though, a good mattress and a supportive sofa are helpful to these old bones.Toss in some curtains and we've got comfort. The appliances are newer and worked well, but the dishes were mismatched and chipped, again giving lake camp vibes. We enjoyed our stay and again, perfect setting!
Beautiful cabin and location was priceless! Needs well fixed!
The cottage was beautiful and Marie wonderful! I have stayed at numerous camps in VT every year for the past 30 years, with well water with zero issue. However there was an extreme problem with the well water with an extreme sulfur smell whenever water used at all. The smell and the fact that the water was non potable and led to nausea really negatively impacted our experience. On the bright side the extremely kind Marie indicated she would look into it. I would not stay until the well is fixed. We had to bring in water for washing drinking cooking
Lovely view out the back windows. Internet and TV worked fine. Adequate kitchen area to cook. Had everything we needed for the weekend. It stayed warm inside despite the cool temps. Love the rail trail for walking just at the end of the driveway.
The camp had a wonderful location right on the bike trail, the kids and I rode our bikes daily. The water access was great for the 5 and 7 year olds. We had a great week in spite of 5 days of rain.
Although the weather didn’t cooperate the first few days, we still very much enjoyed our time at Marie’s camp! The camp was more roomy than we thought it would be. Perfect spot for our 2 dogs, nice lawn space and deck with a gate on it. We took advantage of the 2 kayaks on-site. The pond is clean and we caught several fish from the docks and from the kayak - perch, trout, rock bass, and bullpout. We would definitely rent this camp again!

Christmas getaway
We stayed in this property over Christmas. The pictures online are a fair representation of what the property looks like, but there are a lot of easy maitenance issues that could easily make the property look better cared for (peeling wallpaper, appliance age/disrepair, cracked mirrors and glass, etc.) The beds were very comfortable, the washer and dryer were new and very useful, and the heating unit was very efficient. Perhaps the biggest disappointment was the evidence of mice in mainly the silverware drawer, but also the drawers below it as well. It's hard to be too upset about this because of course mice are going to come into a home in a cold weather climate during the winter - it's unfortunate the place of entry was the silverware drawer. The host was responsive to this issue in advising me how to handle it, but it was a frustrating way to start a vacation. There was no follow up from the host regarding the mice and no attempt to remedy the situation other then to tell us what we could do to try to clean it up ourselves.
Great communication with the owners and the house is amazing. The beds are extremely comfy and everything else is more then adequate. This is the perfect spot to forget about the day-to-day craziness. Located in the middle of everything... woodstock, burlington, killington are all a drive away. Highly recommend.
We were pleasantly surprised that the cottage was more spacious than the pictures had lead on. Everything you need is at your finger tips with a gorgeous view out the back windows! Only about 15/20 minutes to St Johnsbury with cute stores and coffee shops or about 40 minutes to Stow. We are already talking about when we can plan another trip to the cottage!
The owner of this house was very accommodating with us, as we needed a home in our bi-costal move rather than a vacation. I was totally surprised by how sweet the home was - basic and down to earth - but with everything we needed. The view of the lake during the mornings was precious. I love this little home!
We traveled all the way from Queens, Ny to Vermont for some serious winter fun and boy did it deliver! The cottage was clean, well equipped and located in the perfect spot. The view of the frozen lake from the cabin, was mind blowing and the trails, hills and mountains made the perfect setting for winter fun. Our kids had so much fun.....we all did! Marie was the sweetest host and was extremely responsive. Can't wait to visit again.
Can not write a review for this exact listing. There was an issue with the waterheater, but Marie was great and let us stay in another property on the lake. The house was awesome with views of the lake from almost all windows, clean and cozy. Location is wonderful, quiet, with a small store in walking distance, right next to a trail for walking or snowmobiling too.
Great spot with amazing water access and trail access. The house sits on the water and is steps away from the LVRT trail or the pond. Great spot great beauty . In the morning with the fog you feel like you are on a boat the house is so situated by the water !!
This was a fun & relaxing staycation even with the rain! Cottage was fully stocked with more than you would need even though we chose to eat at some of the local establishments. Marie was very responsive and helpful prior to our arrival, as well as making sure we would be all set! We are already looking at dates for another stay!
Our stay at this cottage was very nice. The cottage was clean and the owner gave clear instruction for finding it. They also have a great display of brochures near the dining table showing things to do nearby. The neighbors are friendly. It's right on the water and there's a very nice walking/biking trail in front of the house. We would definitely stay here again.
