Our family traveled to visit our son and grandson. We had a wonderful time. The property was comfortable, clean and well appointed with beautiful views and a very nice location. Initially we had no hot water in one of the bathrooms, but the issue was fixed as soon as we brought it to the attention of the owner. We would definitely stay there again.
This spot was a perfect base to explore Ashland and enjoy family time together. Bill’s place has spectacular views and is very cosy and comfortable. Thank you Bill for your hospitality!
wonderful place to stay when exploring Ashland or attending the Shakespeare Festival
What a fantastic place this Virbo rental is! The host Bill, is very nice, and responds quickly to any questions or issues. The house is amazing, very big and incredibly with beautiful views, and lots of outdoor spaces. The property back up to several hiking trails, but is also only about 10 minutes from the Shakespeare festival. Check in and check out is a breeze and Bill provides a list of local restaurants, grocery stores, etc... honestly I can't say enough about this lovely virbo home.
This is a super well-appointed apartment with everything you might need for a short stay. It has a full high-end kitchen and bath, dining area, and amazing views of Ashland. The Hosts were very responsive to communication but also left us our privacy. We only met Bill the day we checked in but he was quick to answer texts. We hope to stay here again!
This was the second time I have stayed at this property and both times I was sad to leave. It is a short drive to the beautiful downtown area and located in a quiet residential area, up the hill with a wonderful view and close to the walking trail. It is like a 1 bedroom apartment equipped with everything you could need. It's nice to see the wildlife visitors and bird watch. The rental fee is such a value for all this property offers. I certainly look forward to visiting again soon, and will say the owner is very pleasant and accommodating.
My husband Don and I absolutely loved this home. Pictures don’t do it justice. Our host Bill was very accommodating. All the comforts of home were provided. Beside being comfortable and quiet, the views were so beautiful. One full day we sat out on the patio and sipped some wine and enjoyed the scenery. If we are ever in this area again, we would not hesitate to book again. Great location for day trips.
I stayed for a week in Bill’s hilltop oasis while visiting family in Southern Oregon. The online listing is incapable of showing how beautiful the space is, both inside and out. The views are spectacular. This space is completely separate from the owner’s home and is located on top of a three car garage. Not only does this elevated perch provide the best views, but it allows for a sense of privacy that was greatly appreciated. There is an entire separate driveway access and parking to the space that added to the feeling of separation from the main property. The inside of the rental unit is very well done and comfortable. It has a highly functional and fully stocked kitchen, a dining area for 6, a comfortable living room with a flat screen TV, quality WiFi and wall mounted heating and cooling unit with remote control. The bedroom is spacious and has an attached covered deck. The bed, linens and pillows were comfortable and high quality. The bathroom was nicer than any hotel I’ve stayed in. The walk-in shower is huge, has two shower heads, a dedicated hot water heater and incredible water pressure. The unit is also equipped with a full size washer and dryer which were utilized during my week long stay. Check-in was easy as communications with Bill were timely and clear. I was truly grateful for his kindness and willingness to be available as needed. There are no downsides to this space. Only thing I would suggest being prepared for is a very steep roadway to the property entrance. There were several days of snow during my stay and I had wished for an awd rental car. That same snowy weather made for an even more majestic visit for me. I cannot recommend this rental more highly, except to say I will be back.
View from every room. Attention to detail from the beamed ceiling to the matching towels. Beyond fully stocked kitchen. Great place. Owners even got us some perishables. Wonderful. I’m ready to move in.
The rental property was spacious and comfortable, with a lovely view. We were greeted warmly and all communication was clear and welcoming. In addition, there is easy access to walking and hiking trails. This is quite a find and we would highly recommend staying here.
Spectacular view draws you in - beautiful home keeps you there!
Well appointed home spreads out and gives privacy to individuals when needed but also larger rooms to gather. The kitchen is a wonderful place to prepare a meal - and even to clean up after since you aren't shut off from others - or from the view. If you live in the city, be prepared for real darkness after the lights go out. Even though you're mere minutes out of town, it seems much further...more wildlife, more distant lights in the valley below and more stars in the sky. Can't wait to come back!
A wonderful and comfortable home with plenty of room indoors and out. The on-site owners (who live in a separate dwelling from the rental) were attentive to any needs/questions we had and respected our privacy the entire week. It was an all around wonderful stay.
I couldn't have asked for a more beautiful view, and a more spacious, comfortable home away from home. My adult daughter loved the privacy she had in the guest bedroom suite, and there was plenty of room to entertain my girl friend's daughter, son-in-law, and 2 year old grandson in the living room and dining room, and to cook a sumptuous dinner for them in the well-equipped kitchen. The hot tub was heavenly, especially after a long hike on the miles of trails (with even more spectacular vuews) just up the road.
William was also very responsive in all our communications prior to arrival, and graciously accomodated my request for an early check-in.
All-in-all, we couldn't have been happier with our rental and hated to leave!
Excellent location and gorgeous view of the valley. The house exceeded my expectations and was perfect for our needs. Nice and spacious. In addition to the three bedrooms, there is a pull out queen sofa as well as a twin available. The best in Ashland without question. Highly recommend.
I got such credit from my friends for choosing this place. A few days here made all the difference in the world to our mental health. So beautiful and relaxing and wonderful. Thanks!
Originally from Canada, I discovered Ashland in 1992, eventually moving here in 1995 from Maui. My wife is from Seoul, S. Korea. We met here in Ashland while she was co-director of the Institute for Asian Studies and Cultures. We owned/operated Hana Sushi restaurant in Ashland until retiring about 11 years ago. We enjoy playing tennis and walking the mountain trails next to our home.
Why they chose this property
My home is on one of the best homesites in the valley. The views are amazing, the weather is excellent, it has more privacy than most need, yet it is very convenient to excellent restaurants, entertainment and shopping.
What makes this property unique
The city of Ashland maintains an excellent network of walking/ hiking trails starting just outside my door. The home itself is on one level with a covered entertaining area in the back yard and a patio with incredible views in the front yard. Many of the design details, finishes and appliances are uncommonly seen in a rental.
