Beautiful, large home on one of the most desirable streets in the city. This stand alone house is elegantly furnished and well-equipped having undergone a recent kitchen remodel. Upstairs are 3 bedrooms, including the master, 2 bathrooms, the kitchen and an elegant living and dining room. Downstairs is another large bedroom and bathroom and a huge family room. Off the family room is the spacious backyard which has a table and chairs and a BBQ. The house has everything you need to relax and recharge after exploring all the nearby amenities.

Location: Located 3 blocks from the water and 2 blocks from dynamic Chestnut Street, the property offers visitors an unrivaled location from which to explore all that San Francisco has to offer. Within a short walk is Chrissy Field, the Golden Gate Bridge, Palace of fine Arts, Exploratorium, Presidio, Fort Point, Fort Mason and Fisherman's Wharf. Walk or bike to the famous Off-the-Grid events Fri at Fort Mason during Spring/Summer months. Shopping, services, wine bars and dining at some of the cities most popular and highly rated restaurants like A16 are literally steps away, or visit Union Street with its many boutiques and restaurants only a few blocks further. Fabulous location, beautiful home with everything you need.

We stayed here with 4 adults and two teens. It was an awesome location in the Marina. Walking distance to restaurants and stores on Chestnut Street less than two blocks away. It was also an easy walk to the bay and all the tourist sites at Fisherman's Wharf. The house was clean and well stocked with everything you need. There is even a nice back patio to enjoy. Communication was great. If you read the other reviews and read something about the pilot in the oven that is repaired and not an issue at all. We would highly recommend this spot and would happily stay there again.

Great location with safety issues

In town for a family wedding, this location was perfect, easily walkable and safe. The home is spacious with living areas beautifully decorated & the backyard was a real plus for a city location. However, we cannot give it five stars. My wife noticed the smell of a gas leak on our first night. When I inquired, the owner disclosed that he knew about a gas stove leak but for some reason chose not to turn off the gas or inform us of the issue before our arrival. I then inspected the property & discovered that it also had no working smoke alarms or CO2 emission alarms. Because I was here for a wedding, & no option to move my entire family, I found the smoke alarms which were removed, replaced the batteries and reinstalled them, plus bought a CO2 alarm. The property does not meet the VRBO recommended standard for fire safety, nor likely SF legal requirements, which for a home of this stunning caliber and value is not acceptable. Other areas less than five star worthy: -Dog hair in the wool rugs which was all over our socks. Some of our party have allergies. This is supposed be a no pet property. -The master bedroom mattress and pillows were uncomfortable, & seemed quite old. The master bath shower was also very difficult to manage. -Two other bedrooms were personalized for the owner’s girls and it felt awkward for adults. -finally, the amenities - towels, wash cloths, linens were all not five start quality and insufficient quantity.

Great Location and gorgeous home!

Absolutely one of the top places we’ve stayed. Walkable to restaurants, Golden Gate Bridge and outdoor running/walking trails. Beautiful neighborhood and home. Every amenity you can imagine. 5 minute walk to tons of shops and great restaurants. We couldn’t have asked for a better place. Owner was very accessible and provided all information necessary for a wonderful stay!

Amazing San Francisco Home

This property was fantastic in all ways. Updated, clean home in a very quiet and safe neighborhood. Ideal location near Chestnut Street restaurants and shops. Short walks or drives to the Marina, Golden Gate Bridge, Fisherman's Wharf, hiking trails, Golden Gate Park, and really all that San Francisco has to offer. Would come back here in a heartbeat!

Beautiful Home, Excellent Location, Every Amenity

Kipp and Alicia's home is simply beautiful and in the best location. We were visiting SF for the first time in about four years and have always loved the Marina district. Easy walking to iconic local sites, restaurants and shopping! Their home is super clean and comfortable and has every amenity one could think of. Although I never technically cooked there - the kitchen had every imaginable appliance one might need to prepare a beautiful meal. The layout of the home was very nice and we loved having a backyard. The owners were very easy to reach and communicative. Wonderful stay - can't say enough good things!

Lovely Stay in SF

We spent 5 days at this wonderful property in San Francisco. The location is central with access to the top tourist spots and also less touristy areas such as the Chestnut Street area which is only a couple of blocks away. The property is in perfect condition and very well equipped. You can tell that the owners are very diligent with making sure that you have everything you need for a nice stay such as having things like extra paper towels, toilet paper, and trash bags The layout worked well for our group of 6 and each bedroom remained nice and quiet even if people were wandering around the house. The kitchen was one of the best equipped that we have ever rented although the proximity to top restaurants also makes it tempting to eat out all of the time. The owners were very responsive on a couple of questions that we had and we also good luck with their recommendations for restaurants. The street is also quiet and the neighbors we met were very friendly. The small backyard is also a nice touch if you are looking for a place to relax from a day of sightseeing. The marina district is also one of the few flat neighborhoods in SF which made it easy to explore. I highly recommend this property.

San Francisco at its best

Wonderful 2 level home in the Marina district close to parks, the water, the wharf and plenty of restaurants and shops. Very comfortable and spacious. Great kitchen, dining rooms and 2 family/living areas with satelliteTV and good music options. Excellent and responsive hosts. Highly recommended!

Perfect house for multi-family visit

Fabulous home and location

My husband and I could not have hoped for a more perfect setting for our family to stay before and after a wedding in San Francisco. As the groom's family, we were traveling to the city and wanted to have a comfortable place for us and a few adult aunts and uncles to stay. It was perfect. The wedding photographer even came to the home, which is where the groom and groomsmen got ready for the wedding. The space was terrific--it was made for special occasion photography! The home is elegant, beds were super comfortable, and the kitchen nicely appointed. I appreciated that there were spices that made cooking an easy option. The owner was really helpful when we had a "silly" question on the first day. If we have the chance to return, we will look into staying here again. Thank you for opening your home to us. It was a great experience!!!

Beautiful home in perfect location

What a fabulous week in this gorgeous home. Loved this location-away from the tourists, it was a true neighborhood, one of the nicest in San Francisco. A couple blocks to the marina, and Chestnut street with lots of restaurants and shops. it's a hike to the tourist sites like fishermans wharf, but a pretty walk along the water. Or super easy to Uber there too! Plus the area here is flat, which makes it easy to get around! The house was perfect. We had 8 adults (our 3 grown sons, and other family) and we had plenty of room. Bathrooms were never an issue getting ready as there are 3 full. There was plenty of gathering space at tables for breakfast or in the evening playing games. The backyard is cozy and secluded. It is beautifully appointed and plenty stocked, even having staples and spices. They have a binder with restaurant suggestions and home instructions which was very useful. When we got to the house there was a welcome bottle of wine which we were so happy to open about that time! How thoughtful! The owner was extremely responsive anytime I had questions prior to our arrival. One thing to keep in mind when planning for bedrooms is one of the rooms has the bed lofted, so need to have someone climb a ladder to use it (I only say this depending on who is in your group). It wasnt an issue for us. I would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend it to anyone!

Great location. Beautiful luxury home. Peaceful

Rooms set up great for our 6 teenagers in tow. They had the whole game room downstairs to themselves to watch movies, play video games. Great breezes throughout the house. Dining room fit everyone. Plenty of supplies for younger kids to entertain themselves too if needed. Beautiful bay windows to sit & read & relax & listen to music. Beds very comfortable & showers beautiful. Shopping was very close, food choices, coffee shops, bike rentals all close. Thank you for sharing your home.

Beautiful Home & Perfect Location

This is a beautiful home in an ideal location. The Marina has tons of restaurants, shopping, and nightlife nearby. The proximity to the water allows for plenty of outdoor activities, as well. Kipp was super helpful and responsive throughout the process. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend this property to others!

Beautiful Home, Great Location, Safe Neighborhood

Kipp was very easy to communicate with leading up to our stay, so thank you again Kipp! There was a binder with clear instructions on house rules, how tos, and restaurant recommendations (which we tested a couple and they were fantastic!) The home is absolutely beautiful and had everything you could possibly need. We enjoyed the area - walking distance to great restaurants and close to a running trail that will take you to the Golden Gate Bridge. It was a fantastic stay and we would definitely stay again if the situation presented itself. I would highly recommend this home.

Perfect in every way!

My wife and three daughters stayed here for 6 nights and thoroughly enjoyed the house. It was perfect for our needs. It is located in the Marina District very close to Chestnut Street where there are many restaurants, shops, movie theaters and bars. Transportation was convenient as the bus system stops on Chestnut St. a couple blocks from the house. I would recommend this property.

Beautiful home in fabulous location!

Thank you for sharing your gorgeous home! We spent four nights in this beautiful home and it very comfortably fit two families with tweens--plenty of room to spread out, all the amenities, very comfortable couches and beds, our own little fenced yard, and a lot of privacy for being right in the city. It was centrally-located, and we were able to walk to many shops and restaurants, the marina, fisherman's wharf, etc. We also caught uber quickly and easily. Kipp was very responsive to all our questions. We could not have had a better experience!

Beautiful home, great location, and excellent host

It felt like we were at our own home. We spend the week between Christmas and New Years in this lovely home. I have to say that it's more lovely and charming than the pictures imply. Everything was ready and welcoming. We stayed with my parents and our four children, teens to mid-twenties. All were comfortable, plenty of beds, space, and hot showers. The weather was fairly chilly and this 1925 house can only get so warm, so we found it a bit chilly in some places of the house at times, even with the heat on, but the beds have great comforters; and we actually kind of liked it. The host's preparation was very thorough and organized, making it easy for what we needed in the house and the neighborhood for our stay. He was available by phone or email, and very responsive, though we didn't really need anything. We loved the great restaurants he recommended in the neighborhood, and he was very easy to work with leaving us with plenty of privacy. The location couldn't be better, a few blocks to walk to Chestnut full of shops, restaurants and grocer and a few blocks from the waterfront. The neighborhood is quiet and charming. We took several walks in the evenings and started our days with a short run to the Golden Gate Bridge. We didn't really watch TV, but the kids really enjoyed the Wii, and spent half our evenings out and half cooking at home and hanging out by the fire. It was the perfect place for a family get together. We would love to stay again! -- thanks Kipp and family!!

Great Family Getaway!!!

With 5 children between the ages 1-7 and 6 adults this was an amazing house that had everything we needed to be completely comfortable. The location was just steps away from the bay, awesome restaurants and great shopping on Chestnut street. The family room and trampoline kept the kids entertained for hours! The owners offered tons of games, movies and a great arts and crafts closet. Everybody in our large group had an awesome New Year's at this house. Those who wanted to go out on New Year's Eve had a great time knowing the kids were in a safe quiet environment that was fun with hours of entertainment!

Beautiful House in Perfect Location

The moment we walked in to this beautifully decorated, well maintained house, we felt right at home and safe. This house has everything you could wish for to suit a large family. We spent a week here with our three children aged 9, 15 and 17. The kitchen is fully-equipped, the bedrooms are all large and very comfortable. All the rooms are spacious and well designed. There is an upstairs sitting room, perfect for quiet times and a downstairs playroom with lots of games and things to keep the children entertained. The garden is small and safe for young children. The house also had fast Wifi, which was really important to us, and lots of TV channels for the evenings. It was ideally located to explore this fabulous and diverse city. Avila Street is very quiet and peaceful, but from the house, its a 5 minute walk to Chestnut Street with all its interesting shops and plenty of restaurants (and a small supermarket). There is a larger supermarket just a few blocks away. We rented a car from day 1 (there is easy parking in front of the house) which, although not necessary, was really useful to get around the city and further afield (such as Muir Woods - with the Giant Redwoods!). Alcatraz was also excellent - but you definitely HAVE to book in advance. The whole city was fantastic with lots to do, and there is plenty of ways of getting about if you don't have a car as the city isn't too massive and sprawling and the public transport system seems pretty good! Having searched extensively for the right property in San Francisco, when we next visit, there is nowhere else we would want to stay!! Thank you so much to the owner for all your help and great suggestions before and during our stay.

Why they chose this property

The Marina district has it all; close to major tourist sites, recreational activities, restaurants, and services. We had long coveted Avila street as it's one of the only blocks in the Marina that's exclusively single-family homes. Great neighbors, close to the action but quiet and peaceful. The house is taller and wider than most, creating functionality that other homes don't have.
