This is our third stay at the Hummingbird Cabin. It's a lovely no frills cabin in a perfect location. About 5 minutes to the Beaver Meadows entrance station. Easy to get into town but away from the hustle bustle of Estes.
We came to explore Rocky Mountain. This house is 10 MINUTES from the entrance, add 2 or 3 more to get to Bear Lake rd. What an amazing location. The house was very peaceful, I loved watching the hummingbirds. The owner was kind, she provided a gift basket for us when we arrived, which my teens gladly inhaled. Thankyou so much for the great stay.
We enjoyed our stay at hummingbird cabin. The location to RMNP was great and to Estes. We saw deer every morning and evening. Cabin is basic, nothing fancy but had everything we needed and room for our dog to run. Would recommend.
You couldn't get any closer to an entrance into the park. Nice quiet area with beautiful view and mountain breeze. Our dogs even loved watching the animals in the yard. I loved the soak in the tub. We were so comfortable when we came home from days of hiking. It was spacious and well stocked. Thank you for the coffee and goodies, and for making our stay so wonderful. If i ever get back to Estes, i would love to stay here again. KAREN
This was a nice little rustic cabin. Nothing fancy, but just what we expected. Lots of deer hanging out around the property. Quiet neighborhood and close to downtown Estes Park and Rocky Mountain Natl Park. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Perfect place to use a launching point into rocky mountain national park. The house was clean and comfortable and a perfect distance from the busier Estes Park downtown. Routinely saw elk and other wildlife right out the windows!
My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at the Hummingbird Cabin. It's walking distance to the National Park and to downtown activities and shops! We loved the scenic views and the quiet surroundings! We saw Elk grazing each morning of our stay. The location couldn't be better and the owner communicates well. The cabin is old but tastefully renovated. It shows some wear consistent with age, but really, it's hard to complain about that considering the majestic surroundings! We highly recommend the Humming Bird cabin to everyone!
My husband, who is an avid hunter and outdoor enthusiast, was in 7th Heaven! We had mule deer and elk within mere yards of the cabin every day of our stay.
I am a hobby photographer whose soul belongs in the Rockies, and I was also in 7th Heaven. The views from the cabin, especially from the deck at the top of the yard, are beautiful, and the neighborhood is blissfully serene.
Our 15-year-old gives the wifi two thumbs up, and our dog loved laying at the front door watching the wildlife.
The cabin was immaculate when we arrived and had all the supplies we needed for our 4-night stay. It took some trial & error to figure out the perfect settings for the various baseboard heaters, but we loved being able to independently control the temps for individual rooms.
We can't wait to return to Estes Park and will be looking for this cabin again when we do!
This house is in such a great location and suited our needs just fine. The small issue we did have was solved by our host quickly. We enjoyed our stay!
The cabin is conveniently located but very quiet. There are lots of deer and elk that walk by and make a very neat experience for wildlife viewing. The property is clean and well maintained. Overall a very good stay for my family!
The cabin is very spacious. It’s less than 2 miles from the entrance to RMNP. There were elk that walked through the yard daily. The location is great both for the distance to RMNP and shopping in Estes. Would definitely stay here again!
Nice cabin. Rustic but comfortable. Cannot beat the location. You are literally 5 min to Beaver Meadows entrance to the park. Quiet location yet you are only 10 min to town of Estes. Minor snafu during our two week stay which was handled extremely well by local host. No complaints. We already booked for next year.
Our family loves Hummingbird in the Rockies so much! This is the 3rd year we have stayed here and are planning to stay again next summer! Jody is so kind and helpful - she’s always there to answer a question of assist in any way.
The cabin is clean and cozy. We do all our own cooking during our stay - the kitchen has all we need. Our 2 boys love their room with the single beds! We hang our hammock outside for extra relaxation. Our boys love playing outdoor games in the spacious driveway and land surrounding the cabin. We love sitting out on the deck, my husband grills while we play games on the outdoor table. Our little dog is always sad when we have to leave - he adores the neighborhood walks and fresh air. This house is literally only a few minutes from the entrance to RMNP.
The memories we have built here will last a lifetime!
Overall this was a great stay! If you’re looking for a homey and a bit more rustic place close to the Beaver Meadows entrance, then this is it! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and we really loved that we were far enough out from downtown Estes Park to feel secluded, but just a short 5-10 minute drive in.
Just a few things others should be aware of:
- There’s no AC in the cabin, which the property owner didn’t claim to have! I just overlooked this, and I thought others may to. However, owners did provide a couple box fans for the bedrooms, which worked just fine at night! Even during the day, we never got hot inside during mid June.
- The king bed in the master bedroom was actually two twin beds pushed together, creating an annoying crease down the bed. I suppose this is a small detail that shouldn’t affect if you book this property or not; it was just frustrating.
It was a good place to stay. Do note that it is more like a camp house, very basic. It's a really old cabin but it was clean and kitchen was stocked. The king bed needs to be replaced, it was worn out. The location was good. Close to everything yet felt like you were getting away from it all at the cabin. We had elk and deer all over the property. Very quiet neighborhood.
