Set behind the sand dunes of Cape Liptrap Coastal Park, Coastal Hideaway is my personal retreat — tucked among the tea trees in a peaceful, secluded pocket of Venus Bay’s First Estate.
Just a short stroll to Venus Bay’s famous Surf Beach (Beach 3) and a relaxed walk to the village cafés and shops, it’s the perfect base for a romantic weekend, a family holiday, or time with close friends to reconnect and recharge.
Coastal Hideaway isn’t about grand designs — it’s about how you feel the moment you arrive. Hidden behind a natural tea-tree tunnel canopy and tucked quietly behind the dunes, it feels calm, private, and deeply connected to the coastal landscape.
As you follow the pathway down through the canopy, the house slowly reveals itself — the wide front balcony inviting you to pause, breathe in the sea air, and take in the garden rooms, succulents, and hidden corners designed for simple moments of rest.
From the balcony, you’ll hear the waves rolling in, carried by a salty breeze. Kids will love exploring the little garden nooks, while adults can simply sit, read, and unwind.
Inside, warm timber floors and an easy, open-plan layout make coastal living simple. The kitchen is equipped with an oven, stove, fridge, microwave, and all the essentials for preparing relaxed, shared meals.
The living room is cosy and welcoming, with a stereo, TV, and DVD player. In winter, the wood fireplace keeps you snug; and all year round, the split-system air conditioner both heats and cools the space.
There are two comfortable bedrooms — each with a queen bed, pillows, doonas, and extra blankets — plus a handy bunk bed for extra guests or little adventurers. The house also offers an easy-access shower, a separate toilet, and a small laundry with a washer and trough to make beach days simple.
A small study nook in the first bedroom is perfect for remote work — mobile hotspotting works reliably.
You’ll also find 100s of DVDs, books, and classic games — ideal for slow, happy afternoons that stretch into evening.
If you’re lucky, you might spot Wilber the wombat wandering through the garden — a gentle sole, and a reminder to slow down and savour the moment.
We welcome pets on pre-approval (one pet preferred). While the yard isn’t fully fenced, dogs can be safely contained on the large front balcony.
Bedding is provided, but please bring your own linen (sheets and pillowcases).
I’d love to share Coastal Hideaway with you.
