About this property

Coastal Hideaway – Venus Bay's Coastal Charm (First Estate)

Set behind the sand dunes of Cape Liptrap Coastal Park, Coastal Hideaway is my personal retreat — tucked among the tea trees in a peaceful, secluded pocket of Venus Bay’s First Estate.

Just a short stroll to Venus Bay’s famous Surf Beach (Beach 3) and a relaxed walk to the village cafés and shops, it’s the perfect base for a romantic weekend, a family holiday, or time with close friends to reconnect and recharge.

Coastal Hideaway isn’t about grand designs — it’s about how you feel the moment you arrive. Hidden behind a natural tea-tree tunnel canopy and tucked quietly behind the dunes, it feels calm, private, and deeply connected to the coastal landscape.

As you follow the pathway down through the canopy, the house slowly reveals itself — the wide front balcony inviting you to pause, breathe in the sea air, and take in the garden rooms, succulents, and hidden corners designed for simple moments of rest.

From the balcony, you’ll hear the waves rolling in, carried by a salty breeze. Kids will love exploring the little garden nooks, while adults can simply sit, read, and unwind.

Inside, warm timber floors and an easy, open-plan layout make coastal living simple. The kitchen is equipped with an oven, stove, fridge, microwave, and all the essentials for preparing relaxed, shared meals.

The living room is cosy and welcoming, with a stereo, TV, and DVD player. In winter, the wood fireplace keeps you snug; and all year round, the split-system air conditioner both heats and cools the space.

There are two comfortable bedrooms — each with a queen bed, pillows, doonas, and extra blankets — plus a handy bunk bed for extra guests or little adventurers. The house also offers an easy-access shower, a separate toilet, and a small laundry with a washer and trough to make beach days simple.

A small study nook in the first bedroom is perfect for remote work — mobile hotspotting works reliably.

You’ll also find 100s of DVDs, books, and classic games — ideal for slow, happy afternoons that stretch into evening.

If you’re lucky, you might spot Wilber the wombat wandering through the garden — a gentle sole, and a reminder to slow down and savour the moment.

We welcome pets on pre-approval (one pet preferred). While the yard isn’t fully fenced, dogs can be safely contained on the large front balcony.

Bedding is provided, but please bring your own linen (sheets and pillowcases).

I’d love to share Coastal Hideaway with you.

Lovely, clean accommodation

It’s a great, clean and tidy place, only a couple of mins drive from No 3 Beach. The hosts are good to communicate with, and the check-in process straightforward. We would stay again.

Amazing peaceful stay

We really enjoyed our stay at this property. It was at a really nice area, not too close and not too far from the beach. The communication with the owner was also very good with very quick responses. Overall, a wonderful experience for me and my family!

Beautiful and tucked away!

We had a lovely holiday, but we so sad to miss the wombat. Other than the aforementioned wombat-less stay, we were quite pleased with the house and our stay there.

We loved this property! It was clean, comfortable and everything we needed for a relaxing holiday.

The host is lovely and communication was easy and quick. The property has everything we needed and is a short drive to all the beaches and the shops. The beautiful garden space provided the requisite ‘run around and explore’ space for our 5 year old whilst we watched from the deck. Perfect!

long weekend by the beach

We enjoyed our long weekend in the simple but pleasant house set in the coastal vegetation. The living/dining area was very cosy and the large deck and spacious garden were great to relax and for our two sons to play in. One of the best aspects is the easy access to so many beautiful beaches in the area but with the amenities of a little beach town very close by.

About the host

Host profile image
Hi, I’m Bee. I’m a down-to-earth type who finds joy in the little things — early walks, real conversations, and making people feel at ease. I love creating spaces where people can just be — no pressure, no fluff. I’m curious, calm, warm by nature, and always up for a laugh. If we cross paths, you’ll likely find me with coffee in hand and sand between my toes.

Why they chose this property

A Note from Bee: Why Venus Bay Feels So Special

There’s something about Venus Bay that wraps itself around you the moment you arrive — like the air here knows how to let you breathe a little deeper.

For me, Venus Bay has always been about the quiet magic in the everyday moments. It’s in the way the sand feels softer underfoot, the way the tea-trees bend with the coastal winds, and the way the surf hums in the background — steady and grounding, like a heartbeat you can sync yourself to if you listen closely enough.

It’s not a place built for busy. It’s a place built for slow mornings, barefoot walks, salty skin, and evenings that stretch out around the dinner table long after the sun has dipped behind the dunes. It's about wandering along the beach with no plan, no shoes, and no rush. About falling asleep to the sound of the waves and waking up to the soft call of the birds.

I love that Venus Bay still feels wild in its own way — raw and real. The beaches aren't crowded, the streets are quiet, and nature is never far away. Even after all the times I've been here, I still find new corners in the dunes, new tracks through the bush, or a new sunset that stops me in my tracks.

It’s a place where the days slow down enough for you to actually notice them. Where kids still find adventure building forts in the tea-trees, where a simple walk to the shops feels like an invitation to smile at strangers, and where a passing wombat can become the highlight of your evening.

When I think about Coastal Hideaway, it's not just a house tucked behind the dunes — it’s my way of sharing a little piece of that feeling with you. A place where you can leave the world at the tea-tree tunnel and come back to yourself in the simplest, most beautiful ways.

I hope when you visit, you feel it too.

What makes this property unique

Coastal Hideaway isn’t about flashy finishes or grand designs — it’s about a feeling the moment you arrive. Hidden behind a natural tea-tree tunnel and tucked just behind the dunes, it feels private, peaceful, and deeply connected to the landscape around it.

The moment you step onto the balcony and hear the waves crashing in the distance, you know you’ve left the busy world behind. The house itself is simple, thoughtful, and easy — designed so you can slow down, settle in, and make your own kind of holiday, whether that’s barefoot beach walks, long lazy meals, games with the kids, or simply doing nothing at all.

The gardens are part of the magic too — full of little hidden rooms and quiet spots where kids can explore and grown-ups can find a moment to themselves. And if you’re lucky, you might spot Wilber the wombat wandering through at dusk, reminding you that here, life moves at a gentler pace.

Coastal Hideaway isn’t just a house — it’s a place where you can reconnect, recharge, and let time stretch out a little more kindly.
